With all the rain in late spring and early summer, the start date was pushed back a month. The whole project took about 13 work days. The team was very professional and hard working. Nic, the foreman, Elliot, Jeff, Kyle, and Ryan were in perpetual motion during this backbreaking project. I was blown away by their work ethic and skill. Nick put the beautiful limestone steps together like a gently curving puzzle. You could tell he is skilled at cutting and breaking the stone to make it sit in such a stable seat, varying the thickness of the rock he chose to fit the slope of the ground and to make the steps a comfortable height. The guys had to hand dig out 20 year old bushes and haul tons of boulders and river rock and gravel not to mention hand dig a long French drain and a 50' trench to bury a big drain tube down to the storm sewer trench. Our yard was a hot mess for the past 5 years. We couldn't grow grass because of trees the previous owners had planted which were too close together for their own sun needs. The paver steps and walkway have had to be reset 3 times in the 20 years we've had them. Mark is the landscape designer who translated and refined and enhanced our vision into a plan on paper. We interviewed 5 landscape companies for this project. Werbrichs impressed us from the beginning. They gave us a date by which they would have an estimate and it was right on that day we received it. We waited two extra weeks for the others to get back to us, even the other company who was a close second in my mind at the very beginning of this process. Every promise, appointment, meeting, deadline, etc. was met on time and we knew Werbrichs was who we wanted to work with. Until you live it, you can't believe how important this will become in any large project. (We lived in our basement for 8 months last year for a first floor and stair renovation that was supposed to take 3 months). We are going to have our deteriorating asphalt driveway replaced next week by the impressive concrete contractor referred by Werbrichs, Mark Graber Concrete Company, who made our new front walk and stoop.

Called Werbrich's Landscaping and had to leave a message. Did not receive a call back. I initially reflected the non-response in my Angie's review, however, Kevin reached out. We are in the process of setting an appointment for an estimate, and I will update accordingly. UPDATE. Kevin did show up to look at the work. It was a complete waste of my time. He insisted the scope of the work required a permit and/or engineering drawings and/or a professional designer - up to a $1000 cost for me - before he would even give me an estimate. I thought at that time that was not at all correct. Of course I passed. I have found out from other contractors that Kevin was 100% incorrect. I updated his score to a "D" because of the initial issue of not returning my call, and then the careless assessment of the work to be done.

Things did not go well after signing the contract with this team. Below are the details. I had planned to send this to the owner, however i never did: I hired Werbrich's to put in a patio in my backyard in the summer of 2013. I have worked with Ryan Siereveld during the months leading up to getting a patio installed in my backyard. Initially things were great, and Ryan was very helpful. After I signed the proposal and provided the 25% down payment, things took a turn for the worse. Below is a list of 5 things that have caused frustration for me, and I felt as if I had not gotten any type of customer service/satisfaction. 1. They started the project a week late (which to a degree I understood because of weather, but no communication until I asked for updates) 2. Blocking my driveway when there is plenty of room to move the pavers forward, which in turn caused parking problems for me (I have pictures) - I live in Mt. Adams where parking is tight, so blocking the driveway caused me to park a few streets away from my house. 3. Incorrect pavers, which would not have been seen if I hadn't gone out to check. After a call with Ryan, he said if the incorrect pavers had gone in, he would have noticed this and would have had them swapped. This is ridiculous to me that these things are not checked beforehand - this caused an additional delay in getting the work done.. 4. Gravel is about a foot passed where we discussed the edge of the patio to go, so I don't understand why that is happening now either - meaning they dug up more of my yard then discussed. 5. Used old bricks to hold in part of the patio - they used bricks that I had broken apart from my old patio to secure in the new one - you can imagine how terrible that could have looked. They told me we discussed this, which is untrue - we discussed the team hauling away all of the old bricks, not reusing them for anything. They had to remove these and put in cement - another delay. Looking at their website, I reviewed the process that is laid out. Please see below their process, and my notes as to which steps have actually occurred: Step 1: On Site Consultation No charge - Yes Review design goals and customer expectations - YesReview pictures of similar projects - Yes Establish a budget - Partial - no established budget, just provided 3 options, all around the same price point. Step 2: Design Process On site visit with Architect or Landscape Designer - NO Quoted a fee if applicable - NO Take site measurements/elevations (as needed) - Yes Set appointment with customer for final presentation - NO Step 3: Design Presentation Present design to customer - NO Review line item detailed pricing - NO - proposal sent, not reviewed with me. Just asked which option I'd like to move forward with Discuss similar Werbrich?s Projects - NO Set additional meeting for material selections - Yes, AFTER I asked when this would occur. Initially told I could choose just from the booklet. Step 4: Installation Establish a project schedule with the customer - NO - told date, but not told overall timeline until I asked Initiate frequent communication with customer from project start to finish - NO!!! - communication was atrocious Final walkthrough with customer - Yes - AFTER I called to schedule As you can see, other than step one, there are plenty of "No's" above. From all the reviews I'd seen, I was very surprised by my experience, given the positive reviews their company had been given and I am highly disappointed. Ryan continually told me that it is costing Werbrich's more money (not me) due to the errors. I find this incorrect as when these issues occur, it causes more time delays for ME. If I did not check on the pavers, the wrong ones would have been installed, which then would have caused another week+ delay for ME. With all said and done, just note that I will not be recommending your company to anyone. The fact that your quote came in $1500 MORE than others, I chose you because I felt that the customer service would have been 1000 times better - boy was I wrong. Buyers beware - yes it took me a long time to write this review - after all the frustration, I didn't want to even deal with these people or hear their name again. I wrote this now because I got the reminder from Angie's List, so I took an email that I drafted to the owner and edited it for this.

After a slight miscommunication regarding the timing of our first appointment, Eric provided a fair estimate for the work I requested, as well as an impressive packet of company information. Eric was very responsive to me via both phone and email. He was the ONLY provider (all Angie's List recommended) among the four I was considering that bothered to actually provide an estimate. Thankfully the estimate was reasonable, and the references were glowing. Unfortunately due to unexpected circumstances (a pipe burst in my home), I couldn't have the work started prior to the winter freeze. When I'm ready to have the work done, Werbrich's will get the job for sure.

Werbich's was very prompt in their apptmt. The representative walked through the yard with me listening to my ideas and making his own suggestions. Very professional and the estimate was a professional, typed format, very complete. I would definitely contact them again about future work. Thet understand the importance of communication with the customer.

Crew members were very professional and worked hard, hardly ever even saw them taking breaks. Kept us informed of the progress and updates. They did a great job and were very friendly, and the wall looks great.

After at least 8 visits over the past several years, we continue to call them for our landscaping and pond needs.

Very well. The whole crew was very professional, friendly and on time. It took about 4 days, was scheduled for 3 but due to rain one day was not possible to work, but we were called right away. I will definitely use them again!

The project went well. After making initial contact, the salesman (Ryan) came to the house to look at the job. We discussed what I wanted and he provided a quote within a few days. I felt that the cost was reasonable, so we scheduled a time to complete the work. During the first day of work the operator noticed that the quality of fill coming from their supplier was poor (contained concrete and asphalt). He rejected those loads and they ended up getting cleaner fill from a different supplier. I appreciated that the operator was looking out for those details even though it probably resulted in additional work for him. We ended up bringing in about 7 loads of fill and a load of topsoil. I had to do almost no additional work (raking, etc) before applying my grass seed. The operator also did an excellent job cleaning up. The loads of dirt had to be dropped at the end of our driveway since there was not enough room to get the trucks between the houses. This caused dirt to be not only on our driveway, but on the sidewalk and partially in to the street. Once he was finished pressure washing there was almost no evidence of dirt on the driveway, sidewalk or street. This extra effort helped me avoid any angry calls from our HOA. Overall we are very happy with the results. Once the grass comes in our kids will have much more flat area to play in.

We love them. They are fair and listen to what the costumer wants. I will highly recommend to use them. They are not the cheapest but they stand by their work.

The crews worked non-stop and performed all expected maintenance. They have been there since 9AM and it is now lPM. We expect it to take the remainder of the day to finish.

They were prompt and courteous. They did a good job and their designing was good. They cleaned up after themselves but were a little expensive. I would use them again in the future if their price is right.

Werbrich's gave a us a quote for our backyard project. They were responsive but too expensive for what we had in mind.

It turned out beautifully. It did take a little longer than expected, because they only worked Monday through Friday, due to they would be working overtime if they worked on Friday. The workers were polite and professional. I am so happy with the way it turned out.
