Description of Work: J.R. visited our home and we talked about our dreams for changing the original, overgrown landscaping. We had many detailed requirements in our project (i.e. stepping stone path to the backyard pool entrance, covering a large foundation that had never been properly landscaped, adding a sitting area in the front of our home). The wheels began to turn in J.R.'s company and shortly we had a detailed blueprint of our project plans and cost analysis of each stage. We opted to sign the contract for the entire project, instead of finishing it in phases. In a few days, the first truck pulled up and started removing our old landscaping. Each day the work crews came in their khaki work clothes and ran an extremely efficient worksite. They communicated with us every day concerning their progress and immediately addressed any concerns we had. Dave, our site manager, was extremely professional and was a pleasure to work with. He was extremely effective in keeping the project on schedule and resolving any issues we had. Chris and Ben became part of our family as they worked tirelessly to redesign the entire front landscape of our house. Chris stacked tons of stones to build a beautiful rock wall that would elevate our entire landscaping beds in order to cover the exposed foundation in the front of our home. He also laid the perfect flagstone walkway to our backyard entrance. Ben worked on our paver patio that proved to be very tricky to lay because of the elevation and angle of our driveway. He worked hard until it was perfect! After the hardscapes were finished, these guys filled in the landscaping plants and trees and landscape lighting to perfection. Each day before they left they moved all of their tools around back and swept the place clean. No tracking dirt and debris everywhere. They were the kindest, most hardworking college graduates I had ever worked with. When the job was done, every member of the team took such pride in the results. It was evident that this is no ordinary company. Their integrity and pride in what they do placed them head and shoulders above the rest. The beautiful results reflected their incredible work ethic. This talented group of professionals is definitely worth the price that you pay. J.R. and his entire staff are to be commended on their efforts. We are still in love with our new landscaping, and it's been three years since it went in!

Description of Work: Designed and implemented a complete re-landscaping of our backyard including a new stone patio, leveling the yard, laying sod and installing planting beds. They also contracted with another company to fence in once side of our yard with a wooden fence that matches the existing fence in the rest of the yard.

Description of Work: Laid river rock underneath a deck, built a raised planting bed, poured a new concrete patio outside a walk-out basement, and installed stone steps from the concrete patio to the deck stairs.

I had additionally just canceled a service contract with another landscape/lawn services firm to do edging and mulching when the other firm never showed in the spring to do the work. I signed the agreement and within the week, J R Thomas Landscaping was out to do the work, edge, clean out beds, de-weed, apply Treflan, apply mulch, and hand-prune all shrubs and trees on the property.

Replaced considerable chunk of front landscaping, including replacing mature shrubs and trees with newer shrubs and trees of my choosing. Planted new perennials, laid stepping stones, and cut out new bed. Mulched entire front beds around foundation, including new bed out near utility/cable boxes. Also mulched existing beds, even though they were not part of the project, just to be sure mulch was of the same color and variety throughout the landscape.

They installed new steps to two different patios and paver top to the existing patio. Also, they installed a significant amount of landscaping to my front yard. They completely redid the look of the front yard by adding plants and river rocks.
