Description of Work: Consulted with us on a house design and build. Have not built a house yet though.

Description of Work: A 'Screened-in Porch'.................... My wife and I were looking to increase some of the functionality of our custom designed mid-century modern home. A concrete porch accessible from the living/dining room wasn't being fully utilized. We ran some ideas by our friend John Hueber to see what he might suggest. By this time, we had expanded our thinking to include a possible conversion to a 'three-season' room. Very shortly, we were talking about totally finishing THAT space and remodeling the remainder of the 'living' level of the house. This brought into play a total re-thinking of the original interior design and floor plan. Our foremost consideration was that the architectural integrity of the exterior not be compromised. Knowing John to be a creative and artistic person, we felt we were in good hands. Marc Hueber, John's son, was placed in charge of the overall project and quickly proved to be an extremely capable and knowledgeable supervisor. Drawing on Hueber Homes' experience as a custom builder was invaluable as it brought so many longtime subcontractors to the project. It was easy to sense the respect they had for Marc, John and the project in general. We were thoroughly pleased with the continuous progress that was made over the four months of construction. Even after an 11" snow, there were no breaks in the work. Our many thanks to John and Marc Hueber and to their designer Sue Gates for her many valuable decorating ideas. We're enjoying our 'new' surroundings and would heartily recommend Hueber Homes to anyone in search of an 'easy to work with' quality builder.

+ -1 moreThere are custom builders. We found them to have exemplary customer service. They had a wonderful team of professionals who helped us. We walked in there with some concepts and we worked with their architect who was wonderful and of course with the building crew and with John Hueber himself. They have been really wonderful to work with. We bought a lot. They were one of the builders that were recommended. Although we could have gone with anybody, we came up with a little bit of a shortlist. We consulted our attorney and had him step around and ask other attorneys who had heard good things and other things about the builders. Two builders rose to the top very quickly, one of them being Hueber. We ended up interviewing the two builders and felt more comfortable with Hueber. We wanted to build a craftsman style home and Hueber seemed to have more experience with them. We are very happy with the finished product. It's exceeded our expectations in terms of their flexibility and willingness to help us execute our vision for the home. We had some very specific ideas about what we wanted to do and what we wanted it to look like. We had some specific vendors in mind that we wanted to use for some of the things like the floors and so forth. They were very accommodating. They acted like a custom builder, which of course they are. They were great to work with. The quality of the home is superb. They don't cut corners. The impression you get is that it's really about customer service and quality. We would use them again in the future if we needed to.
