I was extremely pleased with Steve Stille's professionalism, knowledge, and helpfulness. He helped to narrow down the many carpet choices and offered welcome advice. Steve made an appointment to come to my home to measure and gather information for the estimate. He was prompt and called ahead to confirm his ETA. The installation process was not pleasant. The installers were due about 9am but arrived at 12:30pm - without a call to advise me of the delay. They worked until 10pm that night to complete the carpet installation in the living space. Since I had other contractors scheduled for the next morning, I appreciated the fact that they completed the living space installation on that day. The installers returned the following day to complete the basement installation and return some furniture to the upstairs office. They were onsite 5 hours on the second day. Anxious to leave on a Friday evening, they failed to complete the clean-up in the basement space. I spoke with Steve after the installation project was complete. I was, and remain, pleased with the overall result. The carpet choice is suburb and the installation result is very good. The installation process and the installers were the downside of this experience. I would use JLG again and would recommend them to friends/family with the caveat that the installers had a proven track record of happy customers. BTW: Steve did adjust my invoice amount by $150 to compensate for the clean-up work that was left to me.

It went fine. We did not have any trouble. I was happy with them.

It ended up to be a nightmare. Tina, from JLG, came out to measure. Based on her measurements we needed 110.68 sq. yds of carpet and padding. Please keep in mind that the installation charges are also based on this 110.68 sq. yds of carpet. We paid an extra charge for the step installation. On Dec. 2, 2009, the last day of the installation, I noticed a roll of carpet wrapped in plastic with our name on it in the installers truck. I asked them about it. The lead installer told me that Tina always orders extra carpet and if it isn't used it goes back to the warehouse. I was a bit confused, but assumed I would only be charged for it if they needed it. As it happened, I was concerned about a couple of seams and called Tina to have her not give the carpet back to the warehouse, as we might now need it. She questioned me about the extra carpet I was talking about and I told her about the 15 sq. yd. roll in the installers truck and about it going back to the warehouse. On 12-9-09, in a phone call Tina said, "What is left over is called a remnant and it goes into our warehouse. This is how all the carpet places get their remnants- extra carpet leftover from installations. You just happen to have a large remnant". Our large remnant was 15 sq. yards and cost us $497.85. Our large remnant went into their warehouse to be resold. We wanted this charge to be removed from our bill. They said we could have the carpet back and brought it back. This was a large roll of carpet that could not bend and we had no way of storing it. Several unpleasant phone calls later, they agreed to take the charge off the balance due if we brought back the carpet. On 12-16-09 we returned the carpet and paid the balance. One of the more interesting things is the Angie's List discount was $534.00. The over estimate of carpet, pad, and installation costs came to $548.25. I never want to go thru anything like this again. It has taken me this long to be able to describe what happened without getting so upset over it again.

They were fine. I liked their professionalism and the way they did their work.

We solicted several estimates for the installation of the tile. JLG provided the most comprehensive service of style/color selection and installation. As it turned out, their estimate was also very competitive. To save some money, I did remove the existing tile and back boards. The job took a couple of partial days. JLG was prompt, courteous and left no mess. The quality of their work is excellent.

Our overall experience was very good. The saleslady, from whom we purchased the tile and purchased and scheduled installation of the carpeting was knowledgeable and very nice to work with. The installers acted in a professional manner - were knowledgeable, thorough and hard working - very friendly and responsive to any questions we had.

I've used JLG before for tile work, and had the same very positive experience with the carpet installation. They were very prompt in coming to measure and give me an estimate. Completed the work within a week of providing the estimate. The installer was about 90 minutes late arriving. It turned out he had mechanical problems with his truck, but once here the work was completed quickly and he did a good job cleaning up. He had brought replacement pad with him, but pointed out that the pad already in place was higher quality than what he had brought, so we just left mine down.

Both of my experiences with JLG have been very positive. Their sales staff is quite helpful and the work has always been completed on time and as agreed upon. I work for an insurance company and JLG is one of the contractors who we will recommend to our claimants to do work.
