JIM SMITH PAINTING

I can't comment on the quality of Mr. Smith's painting, but his responsiveness and professionalism are nonexistent. I first called him on April 22 about some interior painting, hoping it could be done during May. He said no, he wouldn't be able to get to it until June. I said "OK". We are having a big event at our house on July 3 and I wanted to have my house put together before then (we haven't hung pictures because we're waiting until it's painted.) So I said June would be fine and emphasized that it absolutely had to be done in June. Keep in mind, it was April, so this seemed quite reasonable. He said he would call me "tomorrow" to schedule a time to come out and look and give me an estimate. But he didn't call. I let a few weeks go by and I called him and left a voicemail. No return call. Another couple of weeks and I left a message with his wife who is very friendly, but powerless to get her husband to return phone calls (even if she promises you that he definitely will call you back and explains how his business is all referrals so customer service is important to him). So a few more weeks, a few more unreturned messages and all of a sudden it's June and I'm suddenly very concerned. So I start leaving daily messages and finally on June 6 his wife called me to say that he can't fit me in until September. And of course now it's way too late to get another painter to do the work before the big event July 3. So if you're in no hurry and don't mind being ignored and lied to and given the runaround and being constantly shifted to the bottom of Mr. Smith's priority list, he may be a perfectly fine painter. But if you'd rather not pull your hair out, I'd look elsewhere. In the event that he ultimately honors his April commitment, I will update this review.

Jim the owner came out to do the work in two visits, three to four hours of work. He did excellent job for me. He was very timely, and showed up when he said. He is very reliable and didn't leave a mess. He is a very personable guy. We like him a lot.

I highly recommend Jim to anyone! He is dependable, fast, and does a great job. He is very neat as to not make any messes. Friends and family members have used him as well and everyone has had similar experiences.

HE CLEANS UP AFTER HIMSELF. HE COMES IN AND PAINTS AND THEN HE'S GONE. HE DOES EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT HIM TO DO. HE DOES A GOOD JOB AND IS NEAT IN HIS WORK. HE SHOWS UP WHEN HE IS SUPPOSED TO OR A BIT EARLY. I'VE USED HIM FOR ABOUT 20 YEARS AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY PLEASED. HE IS VERY ACCOMMODATING AND EASY TO WORK WITH.
