Description of Work: Eads installed a backyard aluminum fence with two gates. Eads is one of two companies that I contacted for an estimate. The Eads salesman, Brian, spent a good hour with me doing the yard measurements, discussing the various options and explaining the process. Of the two companies, Brian made me feel the most comfortable. He measured carefully and did a good job of explaining things. Also, Eads does a lot of the fencing in my subdivision and it didn't hurt that the Eads estimate was slightly less. The installation was done three weeks after I signed the contract and made the 50% downpayment. I liked the installers and the fence looks great. However, there was one problem area where the fence didn't meet the ground by about 6". The installers filled the area with loose dirt so my smallest dog wouldn't escape. When Brian called a few days later I told him I wasn't really happy with this area. He came back out to inspect it. He explained that the installers had to align the gate top, the posts and the horizontal parts of the fence so that it would have the right appearance. (The problem area was on a downward slope in a corner with a gate.) The fix was to unscrew the pickets, lift them out, and replace them with longer pickets sawed to fit close to the ground. He offered to do this and remove the dirt piled in the gap, free of charge. I'm satisfied that Eads did everything necessary to make me happy with the fence and to make it completely functional for my three dogs. The fence does look great. One caution - the installers don't remove all of the post excavation soils. So, you should expect some dirt issues if you will have dogs running around the yard.

Description of Work: THE COMPANY INSTALLED A DECK RAILING.

Description of Work: EADS BUILT A PRIVACY FENCE AROUND MY BACKYARD. WE CONTRACTED TO REMOVE THE OLD CHAIN-LINK FENCE AND POSTS, AND TO PUT THE NEW WOOD FENCE IN THE SAME LOCATION. THE PROBLEM? THEY LEFT THE OLD POSTS IN THE GROUND AND CUT THEM OFF, PLACING THE NEW FENCE WELL INSIDE THE PROPERTY LINE ON MY CITY LOT, REDUCING THE SIZE OF THE YARD SIGNIFICANTLY. THEN, IN A SEPARATE SECTION OF FENCING DESIGNED TO HIDE AN AIR-CONDITIONER, THE FIRST INSTALLERS MADE THE FENCED-IN AREA TWICE AS BIG AS WAS DESIGNED, CUTTING THE SIZE OF MY PATIO AREA NEARLY IN HALF. THEN THEY SENT OUT A CHAIN-LINK INSTALLER, WITH NO WOOD-FENCE EXPERIENCE AND, WHILE THE FENCE WAS MOVED TO THE RIGHT PLACE, IT LOOKED LIKE A CHILD HAD INSTALLED IT. THE POSTS HEIGHTS VARIED BY UP TO 8', AND THE CAP RAILS WERE AT VARYING ANGLES. THEY CAME BACK A THIRD TIME, FINALLY FIXING THE SECTION AS CONTRACTED. THE CATCH? I HAD TO HIRE OUT ANOTHER CONTRACTOR TO RE-LAY ALL THE PATIO PAVERS THEY'D MOVED THE FIRST TIME! NEVER AGAIN. :)
