After accepting their bid, I was told by the salesman that someone would call the following Tueday to schedule a specific install date. When the following Thursday rolled around, I called to check and was told that they do not schedule a date to install. Generally, they will put you on the calendar for sometime in the next 2-4 weeks, and they would call to confirm at the beginning of the week on the which they plan to do the install. Essentially; you're left in limbo: you will have your fence sometime in the next month. However, since our sales rep made a promise for a date, they made an exception & set a date for us. This was much appreciated! The first section of fence with the first 8 holes they hit my drain title. This is were they lost my vote. After hitting the first pipe in the first hole I should have been told. "Mr (last name) I am sorry but we hit a pipe and we need to move the fence". No harm no foul...I would have only had to dig up one section. That is not what happened. They dug 7 more holes, finished the fence, and I even tipped them cause thee moved a gate that was in the wrong place. My basement flooded. I had to dig up all the pipe. They sent out a Eds crew out to move the fence. They went well. They did replace the pipe. It should have never happened. They refused to help on the price and I had not paid them all there money.
Description of Work: I engaged them to install a Kentucky board fence. The bidding part went off well with one exception: The salesman was new and needed much more training. The installation crew was a subcontractor. When they showed up in a personal vehicle, I knew they were subs.

Overall the experience was great. I did not know what to expect going into this in terms of time and cost as we are still relatively new homeowners. The team at Eads was very professional, helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The price seemed very fair and the work done was excellent. The quality of the railing is great. I can rest well feeling friends and family will be safe when using this railing for support coming up or down the steps. It looks great, too!
Description of Work: Inspection and estimate provided. Wanted to remove front porch/stairs railing and decorative railing that had rusted and worn down and was out of code. Wanted to replace with railing to meet new safety regulations. Went into their showroom to place order so we could go over colors, materials and additional options. Once the order was out of production the job was scheduled. Installed new railing around front steps and porch.

We didn't like their price for the piece. We didn't have any issues with them when they put up the fence. It has held up fairly well. We boogared up the gate which is causing the problem we are having now. When we had the gate quoted, we found out that it is not a standard gate and we are going to have to special order it, which kind of upset us because we didn't ask for anything that wasn’t standard. They kind of built in a profit if they had to come back and do any more work which we were not happy with. Their pricing was good originally. We are looking around at other companies.
Description of Work: We used Eads Fence Company to put in a fence 15 years ago. There is a piece that needs repaired and we were trying to decide if we wanted them to do it.

They did a great job of surveying the site and providing suggestions for prep work for the job such as removing stones from the old fence, removing the tree stump from behind the garage and removing excess topsoil before installing the fence behind the garage. They were also flexible about splitting up the job in half now and the other half later on.
Description of Work: I think they did a great job of removing the old driveway gate and section of fence from the gate to the back corner of the property. They also installed a new driveway gate and section of fence in the same place.

It went very well. Brian Lehman the sales engineer and estimator was early for his appointment and went over exactly what we were trying to accomplish with our fence. We initially wanted a chain link fence but he actually talked us out of it because it was fairly expensive and wasn't necessary for what we wanted. We put 50% down and scheduled a time for his crew to come out His crew was lead by Jim and had 1 other person they were on time and started work immediately. Even with 2 people they were able to finish in 1 day. We had an issue with the gates we requested because of the grade of our yard. EADS built us new gates to match the grade at no extra cost other than a small fee for them to come back out and install. Overall my wife and I were extremely happy with the service and the fence. We would highly recommend.

EADS fencing did a great job! The experience from the first call through the installation was excellent. They clearly explained what to expect. What was included and not included, etc. The only down side is they do not dispose of the dirt from the holes dug, but for me that was not a big deal. They were able to complete the job in one day, which was important as my neighbor has two big dogs that rely on the fence. I plan on using this provider in the future for other fencing needs.

The workmanship was outstanding. The installer checked the layout and expectations with me prior to start of work and checked with me as progress was made. The installer was very persistent about doing the job right and meeting my expectations. While the job was not overly complicated, it did demand some analysis as the lay of the ground was not flat. He did a great job of insuring the fence remained level while the ground under it would require a retaining wall to fill the gap. This work was performed by another contractor. Summation of the total job is simply outstanding. We have had numerous compliments about the attractiveness of the privacy fence. Job was well done.

The salesman for Eads was straightforward about the condition of our previous fence and was willing to listen to our questions and concerns about the new fence's installation. The guys removing and installing the fence were quick, fast and clean. Our new fence looks great and will hopefully last for a long time.

It worked out great. The fence is absolutely gorgeous. They made sure that they understood exactly what we wanted, and provided us a quote. We had a couple of things that were not quite right and they came back and they fixed it until we were satisfied. They were also very clean. They cleaned up their mess. It was raining sometimes when they were doing this as well, so it was not the best condition for them to work in. They did a great job, which had lots of compliments from the neighbors. They definitely did a wonderful job. They were very professional, and they made sure they satisfied us. Again they wanted it to be our satisfaction before they felt that the job was complete. I would absolutely use this company in the future and recommend them to friends.

Overall, the job went fantastically. They were here and I don’t think they were here for more than two hours. They put rails on our front porch so that the two of us wouldn't fall down when we go down. They did the job very, very efficiently. They were great. I liked the fact that they were very prompt, they were very efficient and that they just came and did the job, and left. They were very clean. They cleaned up after themselves. I would have wished that the price was less but we paid what they asked, which was $780. They were the best in all regards. I sure will use them again in the future.

I think the price was between $1100 and $1400, but I'm not sure. I think I picked them because they were rated high on Angie's List. I had also seen their ads quite a bit. I had had a couple of other people to give estimates, but they came out and they were very nice. They had a lot of good suggestions. They were honest about what types of fences were available price wise to meet my needs. When they came to do the work it was a cold and a winter day, but they got it done fast, efficiently and cleaned up after themselves. The fence looks great. Even when I asked them to do something that I hadn't done on the quote, they got it done right and everything was good. Their price was a little bit higher.

We called 3 fence companies for bids for fence replacement. One company came and took measurements but never responded with a bid. Eads estimator, Brian, was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions; his estimate was about $300 less than the other company who responded with a bid. Since both companies have high ratings, we went with the lower bid. The work was started on Nov 1 and the workers stayed until after dark to make sure that our fence was secured so I could let our dog out that evening to run. They returned the following day to complete removal of the old fencing materials. We are very satisfied with the work and would recommend this company to others.

Eads provided a written quote for the work based on a walk through of the job. The bulk of the existing posts on the split rail fence were rotted, rotting or broken. The rails were generally in good shape allowing all but a few to be reused. The existing fence was a combination of 2 and 3 rail fence. Brian suggested making all the fence 3 rail during the reconstruction which I agreed to. I was told that based on current workload, my job would be scheduled 3-4 weeks out. After getting multiple quotes, we selected Eads and I signed the quote and made the required 50% down payment. (Had it not been for the Angie's list rating of this contractor, I'd be reluctant to give any contractor 50% down.) The ensuing weather was pretty rainy and I got a call to start the work within a week. One crew came out on a rainy Wednesday to disassemble the existing fence and stage the new materials. The job was left pretty messy with the old posts and rails laid where they fell. Due to the short notice, I wasn't able to be home for this phase of the work. Thursday was a rainout due to heavy rain. I was called Thursday evening to confirm that the installation would start Friday morning. The crew (different from the demo crew) came out at noon and worked two hours. I was to say the least disappointed since I took the day off work. They assured me they would be back bright and early Saturday to finish. They came at 11AM Saturday. Brian, the estimator, called in the early afternoon to check on what he thought would be a completed job. I told him the status and that I needed the job completed Saturday as I couldn't take another day off work. He got to the appropriate people and got assurances that they would stay until the job was completed. They completed the job at 7PM Saturday. They hauled away the old materials and generally left a clean worksite. The installers called for additional rails to be delivered Saturday afternoon and used them all. They used more of the new rails than necessary, ultimately haulling away numerous servicable rails. This increase the cost of the job beyond the agreed to price. Brian and I discussed this and we came to an agreement to limit the additional charges. Summarizing my experience: The fence looks great The execution was painful The estimator, Brian, followed up beyond closing the sale which helped reduce my frustration

The company representative came out twice to take measurements. She was very reluctant to take some of the measurements we needed to get the building and HOA permits required. Her equipment was not really right for the purpose. These measurements proved to be off by ten feet in several places. When we learned that we had to remeasure due to an easement, we really had to push to get her to come remeasure. After we signed the contract, she was hard to reach and when we did finally get her on the phone she was dismissive of our questions and concerns. The work was scheduled and began roughly on time, but the crew had very little to go on from the representative who had taken the measurements and drawn up the contract, so I had to go over everything with them again. My husband and I asked for a cedar dog-ear picket fence to enclose our yard and for our deck stairs to be stabilized. A crew of 2 men came out the first day and I walked the fence line with them. They then put in the posts for the fence in a completely different place. It was so off I was worried that they had violated the building permit and the HOA permit, so we had to remeasure and make sure it was ok. In the end, they hadn't violated the permit, but the line for the fence was way off. I noticed that the posts and some of the lumber was pine instead of cedar. When my husband spoke to the company representative, she said that only the slats would be cedar. She hadn't told us that the posts and cross-pieces would be pine; it was not clear that any of the materials would not be cedar when we got the quote. Because we had only talked about cedar, we expected all of the materials to be cedar. We later learned that for Eads, pine for the posts and support beams is standard, but we were not told than until after the work began and we specifically asked why the materials weren't cedar. I offered the crew water if they needed it.They made several requests for soda, one saying he "wanted a little sugar, heh heh." Another crew member made an offensive comment about my using a post-hole digger with them. The crew returned a few days later to put in the slats and the gates. They had not brought the proper latches with them and had to return to install them. When they did, it was not done professionally--instead of installing a latch and sleeve for the latch end, they just drilled out a rough hole for the latch end in a post. They also failed to install stops on the gates. Without stops the gates travel past the intended range of the hinges and will wear out faster or become damaged. They did not remove all of the dirt from the yard, which we had paid for in the contract. A few days later the crew came back to do the work on the deck stairs. They were to have detached the stairs, put in a concrete pad, and then reattached the stairs, replacing old side railings. They just poured the concrete into a hole in the ground without using any framing. The nails they used in reattaching the side rails were obviously too long: they left the nails sticking out through boards and I had to hammer the points down. They left a pair of carriage bolts sticking out 2 inches beyond the posts they put in, and loose nails on the deck. Where they were supposed to put in 2-3 nails in the bottom of each slat, they put in one. The crew boss repeatedly told me I needed more posts under the deck. He asked me to ask my husband, even after I said I didn't think we wanted any more work done at the time, and said he would call later that day to see what my husband had decided. He told me he could do the work cheaper if I just hired him instead of going through the company. That afternoon he showed up back at my house and pressured me about the posts. I told him I wasn't interested, and he kept pushing. Finally he walked away and then he went across the street and began asking my neighbors for work. He came back to my door AGAIN and asked if we were planning on having the deck stained, asked about painting work, etc. It was very uncomfortable and even after I shut the door he and his co-worked remained in my driveway for a long time before finally leaving. My husband and I will have to do work to fix their errors, because there is no way I want these people back at my house. The fence is ok, probably B work, but the fact that they obviously didn't have a clue as to what they were doing with the deck stairs, the poor customer service, and the harassing by the crew means I will never use them again and never recommend them to anyone.
