The representative from DBA was fantastic! He was extremely professional and fixed all of the issues with the fireplace. He was extremely efficient and very courteous. I would highly recommend DBA.

DBA was outstanding! Each winter, my mother's kitchen water pipes kept freezing because it was located within an outside wall. To help my mom out I looked into it. DBA Home Services promptly responded to my call and sent a highly-skilled plumber to resolve it. Roy assessed the situation and provided several reasonable options. We went with his "move the pipe" recommendation. He was friendly, very efficient and kept us informed throughout the procedure. It was the kind of visit that gets you wondering "Why can't all service calls go as well as this did, and what else can I have DBA do?" In fact, I've asked them to replace two older toilets at our home this coming week, and we will look to them for additional home services this coming year. I am very pleased with the result and genuinely trust DBA Home Services. So glad I found them. They are now our preferred home services provider.

I rarely take the time to write reviews, but this was an outstanding service provider worthy of the highest recommendation. Doug called twice the day of the scheduled service to keep me informed about his projected arrival time and to let me know his earlier jobs were running long. I appreciated the courtesy call and certainly understand delays are possible. When he arrived just past the stated time window, he brought a box of chocolates to apologize for the delay--very thoughtful. Doug did an outstanding job servicing my fireplace which has been out of use for 10 years. He explained everything he was doing and I learned quite a bit about the system I did not know before. He recommended the insert be painted and said his company could do so in the future or he could give me advise on how to do it myself (I appreciated that option, although I will be calling him). When he was looking at my gas lines in the basement he even pointed out a drainage issue I was unaware of completely unrelated to his visit--I appreciated the heads up. My fireplace is now in perfect working order and we are really enjoying using it again. I made a point to ask Doug about other services he does and he was such a fine gentleman to work with, I would be eager to use him for other projects. Highly recommended.

Service appointment was set for 1pm-5pm, with a contact phone call to precede arrival by 30 minutes. Owner/technician Doug Baker phoned at 1:20 pm to advise that he was 25 minutes away from my home. He arrived approx 20 minutes after the phone call. He brought all of his necessary tools and supplies inside with him immediately upon arrival. He put on his shoe covers, and went directly to work on the fireplace. We discussed the problem while he set up his supplies & tools, and then he began to clean and dismantle the logs and electronic parts. He suspected a short in the electronics, and his diagnosis was correct. He fixed the broken area, reassembled the logs and embers, adding ember material as needed, and finished testing the fireplace to make sure the repair was up to standards. The whole process was done quickly and efficiently, lasting only 20 minutes or so. Mr. Baker presented his invoice and then wrapped up his tools and supplies, ready for his next call. His expertise and professionalism are some of the best I have ever dealt with. Doug Baker runs a 5-star operation, and I'm extremely grateful that he made this house call. I live in the south Dayton area, and he had to travel from north Cincinnati to make this repair call; quite a losing proposition for him when everything is calculated out, cost-wise. He opted to go forward with this service call because he is aware that Dayton does not currently have any gas fireplace service companies. Luckily for me he was sympathetic to my situation and agreed to make the service call. Doug Baker was nice to deal with, and I will certainly recommend him to all my Cinci friends and contacts.

They are on Angie?s List with an A rating and I only use people with A ratings. I refuse to go with a company that won?t call back their customers after a week and me speaking to them twice. I have yet to hear from them and feel it is unacceptable. I gave them my number and have no messages. My husband and I were sick last week and home with a viral head cold. I had to cancel all my appointments because of being sick so if they would have called I would have been there to answer or gotten the message and called right back.

It was quite expensive but they did good work. They were very professional and puncutal. They did the work in a timely manner and when they said they would. Overall, it was a positive experience.

DBA, did a good job, showed up on time and completed the work in a timely manner, made good suggestions when problems came up. The work they did was good, some of the quality could have been better. I was getting the house ready for sale and was having the painting and other finish work done by another company and I believe DBA did not do the small things that they would have if they where doing the whole job.

Project went well and was completed as expected. I was disappointed to find out that some of the pvc replacement pieces were not available from their supplier and we had to use regular wood.

Doug Baker was prompt and thorough in his quote and ordered the new unit the very day I sent him an email confirming the acceptance of his quote. On January 8 at 8:30 a.m. Doug, Tom, Eli and Lonnie all showed up at my door. They covered my entire floor with drop cloths and wore shoe covers whenever they were in my home. They removed my mantle, tile surround and hearth. They tore out the old gas fireplace. Upon discovering our builder had not properly reinforced the drywall behind our fireplace, they set about doing so. The guys then closed off the gas vent to the outside and installed flexible pipe. They installed the new fireplace unit, laid the new tile (which I provided). They cleaned up after themselves thoroughly. The fireplace was operational that very day. The next morning, the same crew, plus the plumber showed up as promised at 8:30. While two guys set about grouting the hearth and surround, two fellows matched the brick on my house (which I had saved since the building of it) and re-bricked the hole where the outside vent had been. Inside, the grout had set and the guys remounted my mantle. The plumbers came and installed a floor key to make sure the unit was up to current code. A painter/drywall man came to be sure that any holes and scratches to the woodwork or drywall was put to rights (there was minimal touchup work because the installers were so careful in the removal process). Again, when the guys left, there was nothing I had to clean up! All in all, by 1 pm that second day, my living room looked as if the new fireplace had always been there and by the time the winter and spring weather does its best to the newly patched brick, you won't be able to tell there ever was a vent in the side of our house! The workmen were all appropriately dressed, respectful of me and my home, well mannered and professional. Absolutely no time was wasted and every question I had was thoroughly and promptly answered. The parts and labor are guaranteed for five years. Doug is knowledgeable and straightforward in his explanations of product, labor involved, costs and tells you exactly what to expect. We are so pleased with the service and quality that we have already obtained quotes on two other jobs we need done on our house.

I called them on the 29th of October and they actually showed up that day. The technician was very thorough and very professional. He noted that some things would need replacing in the near future, but not immediate. He gave recommendations on how to keep it safe and extend the life.

Doug came to the house and inspected every window with me. He then prepared a quote, which was competitive with the other company I contacted. DBA's recommended approach relied more heavily on aluminum covering, rather than carpentry repair, given his assessment of my situation. There were a couple emails exchanges that became confusing, including some technical details and plannig the work date, but they turned out to be non-issues. The work was completed by one of Doug's associates while I was not home. I found that the aesthetic quality of the aluminum work was excellent. Doug did send his associate back a second time, upon my request, to go over a few thin/weak caulk areas a second time. I was told the work hours exceeded Doug's original estimate, but the price did not change. I was happy with the overall outcome.

Doug and his team did a nice job all around. They are very professional and all the work was high qualilty, on time and reasonable on the price side. As with any job, we had a few surprises on scope, additional work required, and some confusion with other contractors working in the house. Doug was always willing to to take the high road and would put the time and effort into making the job work out for the best.

They are easy to work with and get the job done accurately and quickly. They show up when they are supposed to and do an overall great job.

Everything went very well. I was at work when they performed the work. They got everything reattached. They had to create a stronger base so it wouldn't be likely to happen again. Their estimate was higher than what they charged me. Extremely happy with the entire process. Would highly recommend them--very courteous, promt and reasonably priced.

They are very professional and an honest group of folks. They do good work. When they did my bathroom I pointed out some things that I didn't think was done as good as I thought it was and they agreed. They admitted to it and decreased the price accordingly.

Just purchased home a few months ago. Was unable to get gas logs started. From paper work I found out who originally installed them. Called to enquire about repair, was given Doug Baker's name. He came out within a few days, showed us where rust and corrison was preventing lighting. Checked flu and found allot of debris in it and evidence that at some point water had entered the firebox. He gave us a price on replacement logs. He also explained that this was a vent free fireplace which we did not know. He explained how that worked and the advantages. After some research we decided to give him the job. He came out on a Saturday and installed the logs. His work was professioanal, clean, and thorough. We were very satisfied with his work. We also found that he has a passion for working with youth in his free time, which is commendable.

These guys are very good. They are professional and work dilegently throughout the day. They cleaned up after themselves and did a great job. Their price comparison was good.
