The company came out to clean my gas logs and were on time and very professional. I had never had a gas fireplace before so he explained a lot of things to me. He then told me about the option of installing a hood to the fireplace which would distribute heat throughout the house. I decided to have it installed and it has already paid for itself in one year! Highly recommend this comanpy and will use them again!!

It went very well. Doug showed me why the remote did not work and he replaced to unit with a much better system. He also cleaned and serviced the fireplace. His knowledge is unbelievable. He took the time to explain everything to me and was very professional. I intend to hire him to convert my woodturning fireplace to as gas one.

We've used DBA several times and have been completely satisfied with their work and work ethic. Couldn't ask for a more professional, thorough and friendly company to hire. DBA is usually pretty busy and you may have to wait a bit for a service call depending on the time of year. However, the wait is always worth it. We highly recommend DBA for gas fireplace service.

The house was inspected for a new buyer and the inspector reported that the fireplace fan/blower was not working. Doug knew that the work would need to be completed ASAP so he offered to add me onto his schedule within a couple of days vs. waiting for when he would be in my area. Louis and Doug couldn't have been nicer. They called as they were able to come earlier than expected. They cleaned and checked the whole fireplace. They discovered the blower was fine but had a faulty switch. They offered the option of replacing the blower and switch for $250 or removing the switch and still having a fully functional blower at no additional cost (which I did). They were extremely pleasant and efficient and honest. I would definitely recommend them!

They are a little bit pricey but they did an outstanding job. They charge $150 to clean, service and repair a unit. We had them go out to our rental property and they got the pilot light to work after another company told us we'd need to replace the gas valve. After getting the pilot light to work, Doug continued to work on it until it was stronger and met his satisfaction.

Great service. Showed up on time. Put cloth down to protect carpet. Performed a thorough clening and inspection. Identified the problem and closed the leak area. Will use them for any future needs.

Doug Baker is an incredible wealth of technical knowledge on gas fireplaces. He's very professional and efficient once he arrives in your home to do the work. We bought a gas fireplace insert from him and over a year later called him back for an annual service. When we were looking for a replacement gas insert, my husband and I had trouble finding one that looked realistic and was a reasonable price. Doug set us up with a beautiful remote controlled unit. The cost of the service I've listed below is to have the logs and unit tested and cleaned.

First, I don't write reviews, but Doug/DBAGasFireplace was such a wonderful experience; I felt compelled. They had a long waiting list in the cold winter months but so does everyone who fixes fireplaces. 1) They were professional. They put down a drop cloth to cover our new off-white carpet. They explained everything they were doing and why. They took extra steps to clean everything in detail. They were always polite and flexible. 2) They were knowledgeable. They diagnosed the issue (fairly uncommon one) quickly and accurately. They gave us suggestions to prevent issues and to keep our fireplace in good shape. 3) They were kind. They fixed the one problem that I had reported (low flame/heat). When I mentioned three other minor issues, they fixed each one of them (two at no charge, one required parts). 4) Their prices are great. They were less expensive than other companies I called. I had a broken remote control unit. They serviced the fireplace, fixed the issue, replaced the remote control, fixed the horrendously cold draft caused by bad installation, and improved the operations of our auto-fan FOR LESS THAN WHAT THEIR COMPETITION WANTED FOR JUST THE REMOTE CONTROL UNIT. I bet I saved almost $200 over the first company that I called (they were busy and had an attitude) What great value.

I was SUPER happy since my previous company had told me that my fireplace was getting too old to find replacement parts AND they'd already been to my house three times AND it wasn't fixed yet and it was January. (American Chimney - see that review. Very nice people, but not effective any more with my fireplace.) So in rides my rescuer, who I also found on Angie's List - Doug Baker (DBA) and another gentleman whose name I didn't catch. It was a fairly significant replacement part(s), which he did NOT have to order as it was on his truck - already points in DBA's favor since I had to wait twice for parts with American Chimney. It is fixed. AND he said my fireplace is not old for DBA - they will love to do my annual service for the next 30 years!

Doug and Louis came to clean and inspect our gas fireplace. They were punctual and very professional. They allowed me to ask all the questions I needed to feel comfortable and made sure I was aware of what they were doing. They cleaned my unit and adjusted it so that it was working the way it was supposed to. Now, I can use it for what it is supposed to do! Heat most of my lower level!! I would highly recommend DBA Gas Fireplace! I’ll gladly use them again! Thanks Doug and Louis!

Great! Although they are very busy, it was worth the wait. Courteous, knowledgeable and very professional. Took care in coming into our home (with all the snow currently on the ground) with shoe covers, etc. Answered all my stupid questions as I was not familiar at all with a gas fireplace and the "inner workings". Highly recommend.

DBA Gas Fireplace arrived after their appointed time, but I appreciated that they called me earlier in the day to give me a heads up. They were extremely professional and were able to quickly diagnose and fix the problem. They even offered me a couple of options. They were very respectful of my home and took every pain to make sure that my home would not be soiled. They wore booties to cover their shoes and laid down drop cloths. I was extremely pleased with the work they performed and would be very happy to recommend them to anyone.

I do not write reviews, but I was very motivated to do so for DBA. This is a top notch company. They not only resolved our fireplace issues, but offered needed advice about future maintenance and took time to answer questions we had about other projects as well. Highly competent, professional, kind and courteous are a few adjectives that come to mind. They even took the time to help my dog feel comfortable while they were here. Not to be overdramatic, but what a world we would have if everyone brought such pride and joy to the workplace. HIRE THEM!

I spent hours trying unsuccessfully to get our gas fireplace to work properly. I finally gave up and called Doug Baker Associates (DBA). Doug is a consummate professional and had our unit up and running like new. DBA was punctual and before entering our home had put clean covers over his shoes. Before touching the fireplace, Doug made certain that the surrounding area was completely covered and protected with a large blanket. He was very informative while he worked and took care to point out what and why he was doing to our unit. DBA is our "go to" fireplace repair firm from now on...we couldn't be more satisfied!

It has NEVER looked so good and worked so well! Doug also gave us valuable information on the care and upkeep of our fireplace. They were clean, efficient, and trustworthy. Would HIGHLY recommend!

I had had it fixed two years previously by another company. I had suggested maybe it was a faulty door switch but was told I needed a new valve, which cost several hundred dollars. Within a months the problem returned. Eventually the fireplace would not restart. When DBA arrived, I said that previously I had a new valve put in. He said my type fireplace rarely needed that valve replaced. After a few minutes, he said I had a faulty door switch. He replaced it and I have had no problems since then.

Doug was great! Punctual and professional, he identified the model of my insert, knew how efficient it was, how much it cost to run it and how long I could expect it to last. He diagnosed my problem within minutes, cleaned the whole thing up taught me what I needed to know. I will definitely be calling him again.
