Cincinnati Gutter & Roof Protection

I had previously spoken to Paul Thompson, senior estimator and field supervisor, to inspect my roof about 2 1/2 years ago about the cost of a new roof. After inspection, Paul told me the roof had cupping but I did not need a new roof at that time. (Let me add, a different company was in the neighborhood and upon inspection told me I definitely needed a new roof.) I told Paul I appreciated his honesty, and when the time came for a roof, I would return to Cincinnati Gutter and Roof Protection. Fast forward to March 2016: I am planning on selling my house and wanted a new roof. Paul returned to examine, remeasure and explain what needed to be done. The material was delivered on Saturday. A crew of 8 men arrived early Monday morning. They removed 3, yes 3, layers of old shingles, and then promptly began to give my house a facelift with new shingles and everything else that it needed. The workers were courteous and hardworking. They laid tarp all around my house and hauled away all the old shingles and any other mess. The crew was finished and left about 6 that evening. On Tuesday, material arrived midday and work began to remove the old gutters and downspouts. This 2 man team completed their job on Wednesday. They were also courteous and hardworking. Paul checked in several times throughout the three day period. I am thoroughly pleased with the entire process from start to finish. I knew what to expect as far as pricing and any additional charges should there be an unseen problem. Originally, I picked Cincinnati Gutter and Roof Protection for a second opinion years ago because they were highly rated on Angie's List. I chose to have them install a new roof and gutters because Paul was a man of integrity. I was not disappointed. Cincinnati Gutter and Roof Protection will be the company I will use again whenever I need their services in the future.

Paul Thompson of Cincinnati Gutter and Roof Protection got with me promptly and we worked closely with each other to ensure that I was getting what we really wanted for our house and garage. Due to another job running longer than expected they showed up a few days after we expected but with our approval they jumped right in. They did not rush the work but yet did finish in a timely manor. Even though there was a couple of days that they just could not do the job because of rain and very high wind they still finished according to plan. They made sure that they picked up after themselves and left the yard as they found it. I was very happy with their timeliness as well as their professionalism. For the price I paid I was very happy with the end results. Paul was a pleasure to work with and will definitely call again when the need arises.

The installation crew consisted of one man. Several of my neighbors have had their gutters replaced recently and it really is a two person job. The installer did a good job but it was spread out over a 5 day period. I never saw the field supervisor come by to check on the job as he promised. In addition, the field supervisor was supposed to get back to me about replacing damaged metal and vinyl framework on my garage. I have not received any follow up call on this project.

Paul came out to take a look at the job just a couple days after I contacted them - he was actually in the neighborhood, so was able to look at the job earlier than originally planned (he called before stopping by...appreciated). He took measurements, answered all of our questions, and got back to us the next day with a quote. The owner, John, called back as a follow-up to my question regarding the Angie's list deal. Since our job was so much larger than the AL offer (50' of gutter), he offered an equal deal. One item to note: Don't buy the AL offer for stuff like this UNTIL AFTER you have talked to the contractor. You never know what all your job will entail. The installers showed-up to start the job on the morning they promised, and were done in 2 1/2 days (large 2-story colonial). The installers were also very coureous...friendly, but never over-bearing. They did great work, and recommended a couple of enhancements that really made a difference in aesthetics and functionality. When they left, there was not a single trace that they'd even been here...everything was picked up, and no damage to the landscaping around the house. The night after installation was complete, it rained buckets! Where we used to have overflow and puddles, we had nothing! The installation and enhancements (BIG 6" gutters) managed the downpour perfectly. I would recommend John, Paul and CGRP to anyone in the area. For the service you get, the price cannot be beat. Quality gutter, professional installation, very courteous installers.

John responded immediately when I left a message. The repair was completed in a timely manner, and John arrived on time. He was courteous and cared about the quality of his work. A leak developed in the gutter a year after the job had been completed. When I called John, he came over and did a temporary repair. He told me to call him back if the repair didn't work. When I called, he was responsive and polite. This is a business that stands by the quality of its work. I will use this business again.

THE GUYS THAT WORKED ON MY HOME CAME ON TIME AND PERFORMED THERE WORK. THE BACK OF OUR HOUSE IS 35FT SO IT WASN'T AN EASY JOB. THEY REPLACED ROTTED FASCIA IN 8 PLACES AND MATCHED THE PAINT TO THE EXISTING PAINT..THEY SEALED ALL THE GUTTER JOINTS AND CLEANED ALL GUTTERS. NEW GUTTER GUARDS WERE INSTALLED ON 200FT OF THE HOUSE. JOHN DID NOT ASK FOR A DEPOSIT AND PAYMENT IS MADE IF YOU ARE SATISFIED WITH THE JOB WHICH IS UNHEARD OF. MOST CONTRACTS WANT A DEPOSIT..I AM EXTREMELY SATISFIED AND WILL HAVE THE COMPANY BACK TO DO THE ROOF IN A FEW YEARS.

The job went well. This contractor does an excellent job communicating with his customers. Kept me updated on when they would be there, extras that would enhance the project, etc. And their work is good too.

John, with Cincinnati Roof and Gutter came out 2 weeks ago and looked at my job. He measured and scheduled my installation to happen 2 weeks later. Today that 2 weeks was up and the installer was here and installed my gutter. What a great experience. It is just a pleasure to deal with someone that does professional work in a timely fashion for a great price. The installer was amazing. He found a problem with how my barn was constructed and configured the gutter to function properly. That is professional attention to detail that you want but seldom get. Thanks again to Cincinnati Roof and Gutter and as I need things done you are my go to guys.

My home is an older home. My home has box gutters and John was the ONLY contractor who actually did come out and look at the home and give me an estimate for the work. I contacted 3 other companies in the area. Only one bothered to call me back and then never showed to give an estimate. When I called John to do the work he told me they would be 2 to 3 weeks out. He called me in the third week to schedule the work. Work was completed today by Ron. Installer was very good. Very quality oriented. Took his time to do it right and really cared how things looked. I'm very pleased. I highly recommend them

My experience was okay. It wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be. They were done in one day. I would recommend them to others.

No one could be bothered to give me a quote

I found John when I had myself in a bit of a fix. Without going into too much detail, John met and in fact exceeded my needs well within the time parameters, and was very gracious about it. I will certainly use him in the future for roofing, siding and gutter needs. His guys were prompt, professional, clean and did a fine job.

He came while I was at work to do the estimate and work and it was done when I got home. Great service and very friendly.

I originally bought an Angie's List Big Deal to have my gutters cleaned and repaired. It was no surprise that the gutter company recommended replacing them - they were definitely ancient gutters! The estimate seemed reasonable, so I agreed. They replaced two old, neglected gutters with new ones that have leaf guards inside and also replaced three downspouts - at least one of which was rusting out. Since I didn't get estimates from anyone else, I can't really say if the price was particularly good or not. I can, however, say that the sales rep was very professional and did not pressure me to go beyond the Big Deal offer. He didn't give me any kind of "hard sell" about what terrible things could happen if I just cleaned the gutters instead of replacing them. (I never hire people who try to scare me into buying what they're selling.) Timing was excellent - reasonable response time when I bought the Big Deal, and once I agreed to the bigger project, they did the work within a few days. My only complaint would be this: When they pulled the old gutter off, some very old, unpainted wood was revealed. Instead of pointing this out to me and giving me the option of repairing or painting it, they just installed the new gutter and called it a day. The new gutter is not as tall as the old one was, so this strip of unpainted wood was visible below the gutter. I didn't notice it until after they were gone - but I'm sure they noticed it when they were up on that ladder. As it happened, my handy man was here shortly after and he was able to clean up and paint that little strip so I didn't even call Cincinnati Gutter about it. I know I didn't hire them to paint anything, but it would have been nice of them to point out the problem. It was a relatively minor issue - just enough to earn them a B instead of an A for Quality of work. Overall, I am pleased with their work and would call them again.

They did a great job. I called and they came out to give a quote within a few days. They gave me a written estimate with everything on it and explained it. We were not sure whether or not I had a gutter apron under the shingles with the old gutters, so they gave separate and very reasonable quote for that if I needed it once the job started (Note: they brought the gutter apron material to the job just in case, but I ended up having it installed, so there was not extra charge. But I really appreciated that they were prepared to install it if needed.). I called a few days later with some clarification questions which they promptly called back and answered. The questions were what type of hangers they used (they use the ones hidden on inside of gutter, not the nail/screw ones you see - which is what my old gutters were and I did not think they looked nice), the type of aluminum (Alcoa, .032 gauge which was on quote, seemless), and time-frame they could install. I had several other quotes but felt most comfortable with them. They scheduled the appointment for the next week. They called before they arrived and said if there were any questions to call. When the installers arrived they let me know they were there before they began. They cleaned up afterwards. Gutters look great. I would definitely use again.
