About us

Our family has been servicing the Greater Cincinnati Area in the electrical field since 1954. We have had three generations of experience and excellence working hard to make sure your job is done safe and done right the first time. Attention to detail and perfection has been the number one reason we have been able to stay in business as long as we have. In 1989 Action Electric was started by Bob Bishop. His work ethtic and experience has afforded him the luxury of knowing quickly how to get the job done right in a timely manner but also not allowing mistakes to happen that can become costly in the long run. His Son, Russ Bishop joined the team at an early age and has returned to help grow the family business. His goal is to continue what his Father and Grandfather started and that is to keep a reliable company going that you can trust time and time again. We are members of The Better Business Bureau of Greater Cincinnati, Greater Cincinnati Electrical Association and you can find our high ratings on Angie's list as well .

Description of Work: Hired originally to upgrade electric panel. We ended up having him replace outside electric cable, install two appliance outlets, a ceiling light, hanging light and install several outlets. Bob was very accommodating and helpful. I have already recommended him to several friends and would not hesitate to recommend him again.

Description of Work: Bob replaced a post light that had fallen in the recent wind storms. He removed the old concrete under the grass so that the new light would be in the same location, then put the dirt and grass back in place before he left. Also replaced a couple of timers for our outdoor lights. One of the new timers didn't work properly, so I called and he came back that same day to fix it. All in all, everything went well.

This company is always courteous and on time. They work efficiently and clean up well after the job is complete. They ask questions and communicate well to let me know why something is being done.
Description of Work: This electrician relocated my dryer plug. He also relocated the washer plug. He installed one SFI plug. He also put in a blank off plug. He then disconnected and removed an alarm pad.

SPOKE WITH BOB BISHOP AND CONFIRMED THE APPOINTMENT A WEEK AHEAD. I ALSO MENTIONED THAT IF THERE WERE ANY SCHEDULING PROBLEMS THAT SHOULD CALL US THE DAY BEFORE. WE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL THE DAY BEFORE. ON THE APPOINTMENT DAY, MY HUSBAND RECEIVED A PHONE CALL 10 MINUTES AFTER THE APPOINTMENT TIME SAYING THEY WOULD BE AN HOUR TO AN HOUR AND 15 MINUTES LATE. ABOUT AN HOUR AND 30 MINUTES LATER THEY CALLED AGAIN AND ASKED IF THEY COULD COME FROM WHERE THEY WERE. WE TOLD THEM NO AND THEN THEY ASKED IF THEY COULD RESCHEDULE AND WE SAID NO.

I was nearly killed in a truck accident in 2002 and was still recovering during this time. We were very busy during this time period and I was not directly involved in doing the work in 2003. Who ever I had scheduled to this job must have been running behind. Based on customer comment attempts were made to correct there time frame without leaving the customer in progress before them with an incomplete job. Scheduling is not a perfect science. Some times we are calling to ask if we can come earlier than planed because we are running ahead of schedule. Sorry for the inconvenience. We really do our best to keep on schedule and keep customers effected by our progress informed if things are not going as planed and time frames are being effected .
