Starting Line Homes

We chose Starting Line Homes due to word of mouth recommendations and the responsiveness of owner Jim Justice. We designed the addition and had architectural drawings for Jim to use for bidding. A difficult part of the project was tying the new 12/12 pitch roof to the existing roof. Also, a 10x20 porch which was and quot;sunkenand quot; into the back of the house was removed and excavated to tie in the basement. A wet bar, 1/2 bath, entry closet and additional master BR closet were part of the project. Jim submitted a satisfactory bid and started work in October '13. He pulled permits for all work, and spent time at the site nearly every day that subs were working. All the subcontractors were very professional, respectful of our concerns and did excellent work. We were always able to reach Jim with questions and he always answered his phone or returned calls promptly. We always knew what was planned for the next day and who would be at our home. He was always helpful explaining the construction details and working with us on small changes. He made sure that all the details we asked for were completed to our satisfaction. Due to weather and the holiday season, progress slowed during Dec, Jan, and Feb. The masons were unable to install our cultured stone fireplace, exterior chimney and foundation skirting due to cold weather. These delays pushed Jim's part of the project completion into April '14. Overall we are delighted with how the room turned out. The room construction is exactly how we wanted it. Obviously the time to complete was the biggest negative of the project. We accepted this throughout the time of construction and valued the quality of the work done over a rush to complete the job. We still are pleased that Starting Line Homes was the builder, and would choose them again for a large project.
