Brian was very professional, courteous and knowledgeable. He did the inspection and then walked through it again with me explaining in great detail what we were looking at. He also made recommendations about the upkeep of the house as we went along. I received a detailed report the next day which emphazied what should be considered for immediate action. I would most certainly use his services again.

B.K. was GREAT! He took a lot of time with me over the phone and email explaining the radon testing process. When it was time for the test to begin, he was extremely thorough in making sure everything was set up correctly and that our home was closed properly. He even allowed us to run the test for one extra day because some workers on our home had pulled the weather stripping off of the front door to paint. B.K. even offered advice to us on things we need to look for with our new home while it's still under the warranty period. Outstanding company, great professionalism, service and price. I was also very pleased to know that our radon levels were well below 4 as we initiated the test on our own to be sure our family had safe levels in our new home that we built. We will be using King Home Inspections again once we are at our 10 month mark in the home for a complete home inspection. Thanks!!

I am a consumer with high expectations of any company that I engage to do work for me. Very rarely do I encounter a business that exceeds what I expect but B.K. Thompson of King Home Inspections certainly fits that bill. His professionalism, responsiveness, and overall work ethic, in my opinion, cannot be topped. I have absolutely no recommendations for any improvement from this company, He is the epitome of a business professional. He is extremely efficient, he arrives early to complete the inspection, and provides a time for his client to arrive for the review and discussion of his findings. Brian "B.K." Thompson did an excellent job with our home inspection! He arrived at the home and began the inspection well before we arrived, and even earlier than he originally told us he would. He was very thorough and professional. As we went through the home, he explained details of what we were looking at step by step. He gave definitions that we may not have otherwise been familiar with, and as a first time home buyer I really appreciated his informativeness and patience. He allowed time for questions and clarification. He also eased our minds by explaining that there is no perfect home and to understand that his purpose was to make us well informed buyers. B.K. made many recommendations about routine maintenance that will help us protect our investment long-term. He also gave us information about what needed about how to prioritize projects that need attention once we do purchase the home. We received a well organized and very detailed report of everything that he discussed with us, in a timely manner. Today my husband and I had our home inspection for our future home. Brian was so thorough. He made us feel comfortable about asking questions. There wasn't a point where we felt as though we could not ask or comment on anything. Not only did he inspect the home, but he also gave us money saving ideas on how to remedy some of the small issues of the home ourselves. My Realtor even commented on how detailed the inspection was and I am sure that she has been through dozens of them. At first we were overwhelmed by the information that was given, but he noticed that and told us not to worry. We I certainly appreciated! We definitely left the inspection knowing more about the home and in turn we will be able to prioritize what items we should do first. Brian was great!!

Brian has done 2 different home inspections for us in the last year. His inspection actually saved us from buying a lemon of a house the first time. He is very organized and punctual. He was also professional and courteous. He gets to the home about an hour before you do so he can check things out and then you spend the next 3 hours going over the details with him. Brian took the time to explain all his findings and then sends you a very detailed report in a timely manner that includes lots of photos for reference. I would recommend King inspection to everyone I know. Great job!

My husband and I move around a lot because of his work. Over the years we've purchased 5 houses together. Our most recent move was from Boston to Oberlin where we're in the process of buying house #6. I thought I'd been through enough home inspections to know what to expect but I'd never met a home inspector as passionate about his job as BK is. He examined every square inch of the house, even when he had to squeeze himself through tiny openings or crawl on hands and knees where no one had been in years. He pointed out things no inspector had ever covered with us before. His inspection took about twice as long as any other inspection we've been through, and the report he sent us a day later is a thoughtful and comprehensive. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work. Highly recommend!

BK showed up early to start the inspection, then took about 3 hours to walk through the house and show me any concerns he had. He was very honest about what was needed right away and what I can hold off on, and gave me some money saving tips along the way. He also explained what was normal due to the age of the home. I received a thorough report the next day that I can reference in the future. He was very professional and I would highly recommend!

is company The service was great! They are very detailed with their work and will answer any question to their knowledge. They will take around 4 hours to inspect the home from top to bottom. Usually other inspectors take an hour or two and provide you a paper with the list of items. King Home Inspection provides a detail binder with every area of the house. The also provide tip brochures for your home. BK was the inspector for this service and he was great! Very professional, detailed with his work and very knowledgeable. I would recommend this company to anyone!

The home inspection was performed in a thorough and professional manner. BK left no stone unturned!!! He performed his inspection and then walked me through the whole house pointing out issues that he found and giving helpful tips on how to rectify the situation and general maintenance tips throughout the walk through. Once we were done BK asked again if there were more questions and then went through the binder that is a part of the inspection. A couple of days later I received the complete inspection document via email, this included numerous pictures that were taken during the inspection and were referred to throughout the document. Overal I was very pleased with the home inspection and would highly recommend BK and King Home Inspection.

I hired King Home Inspection based on a recommendation from my sister and her husband; they had used his services twice in the past. I was very pleased and would recommend him highly. He's very thorough and takes his time.

The inspector was prompt and very thorough. He pointed out everything that could have been wrong with the house but missed the mark on one key item... the roof. He stated it was near the end of its life so we were going to ask for money off the purchase price. I had my roofer go take a look though before we made that decision. It was a good thing we did because the inspector was mistaken. The type of shingle used on the house has two layers of granules. Only the top layer, which is cosmetic, was starting to lose some granules. The roof has quite a few years remaining. I would just caution that anything reported as being an issue is checked more thoroughly by an expert before you make any decisions regarding your home purchase.

The inspection went very well due to Brian "B.K." Thompson's responsiveness, promptness and thoroughness prior to, during and after the inspections. I will highly recommend King Home Inspection to others. B.K. performed the inspections and provided the detailed inspection report himself. You may find that realtors/agents are concerned with the time B.K. requires for the inspections, his detailed report and his ability to point out very specific things during the inspection. My agent had no direct experience with B.K. but she was warned repeatedly by the seller's agent and others within various local realty offices that B.K. would potentially derail the home purchase by calling out every defect or potential concern during the inspection and in his very thorough report. Following the inspection, my agent stated multiple times to me and to the seller's agent that B.K. did an excellent job and that she would have no concerns with B.K. doing inspections on future potential transactions. B.K.'s objective is to identify and describe any and all defects while also educating his client about the home's structure, care and maintenance. He did both very well. His expertise is invaluable and we will use his inspection report and notes from the inspection to take care of the home going forward. The inspection report so throughly calls out any imperfection in the home that what I find to be helpful may for someone else raise unwarranted concern, if that person thinks that any home is perfect and an inspection should be a seal of approval rather than a detailed assessment.

Outstanding! The most thorough and extensive inspection I have ever been through. B.K gave me a 3-ring notebook and a flashlight and walked me step-by-step while I took my own notes as well.

BK was thoroughly professional from start to finish. He was extremely prompt in returning calls, texts and emails. He went out of his way to accommodate our scheduling limitations. This was particularly impressive given that the inspection location was a bit difficult for him to get to. He set clear expectations about when he would arrive at the house, what he would need and do, when he would be ready to review the results with us, when we would be finished and when I would receive the report. All were extremely accurate. When we arrived at the house he was ready and waiting. He handed us each a flashlight, a 3-ring binder, and a pen, He even offered us a bottle of water from his cooler! The binder included blank paper for notes along with numerous helpful guides and tools for buying a home. He spent all the time we needed reviewing the house with us and making sure we understood what we were looking at and why. He encouraged questions throughout the process and took great pains to explain things in layman's terms. He didn't leave until he had confirmed that we had no more questions or concerns. BK's written home inspection report was extremely thorough and well organized. He included well over 100 photos, many of which were annotated to highlight particular concerns mentioned in the report. He then followed up by phone to make sure we understood everything and to answer any remaining questions. His report was provided via email as a PDF ready to print and include in the 3-ring binder. I would HIGHLY recommend BK Thompson of King Home Inspections to anyone lucky enough to be in his service area.

BK work on our tight schedule to do the full battery of tests and found things in the house that we were going to buy that made us walk away from the deal. His inspection was great and he spent a ton of time with us before during and after the inspection to make sure we had what we needed to be comfortable with what he shared with us. He spent time both on the day we had our inspection and the day he started the radon. He talked about tips and suggestions of things to change and fix about the house. I am going back to him for our next inspection.

Inspection when very well! Inspection took about 3 hours but it was worth it. Inspector made sure I understood where and why things were wrong with the house. I climbed in the attic and crawl space so he could show me what was what. Very helpful! The price was a bit more expensive than I expected but it was worth it.

B. K. did a terrific job inspecting our new house. He arrived an hour and a half before us, then spent over 3 hours showing us all the details of the house and any issues (big or small) he could find. He was very professional; when we arrived he had a cooler of water ready for us along with flashlights and a binder full of helpful information. In addition to pointing out all the issues he could find in the house, he gave us a lot of great tips on taking care of it. Though he had a very busy schedule, B.K. was more than willing to answer any questions we had and to look at anything additional we brought up. He responded to all of our calls and e-mails quickly and his final report was very thorough. I would highly recommend B.K. to anyone needing a home inspection.

Brian was awesome. Very thorough, much to the somewhat chagrin of our real estate agent. Spent 4+ hours going over the entire house and reviewing every aspect good and bad with us so we knew exactly what to ask for before the sale completed, and good tips to follow once we moved in and actually had to maintain the house. Will definitely use again, should the need arise.

Inspection was for a home being purchased. He arrived a full two hours before us and conducted his inspection with the real estate agent. He then proceeded to walk us through all of his inspection points indicating and explaining those points needing attention as well as the points he found that were good. He provided a detailed inspection report with pictures. The inspector was friendly, knowledgeable and gave detailed explanations of findings with priority of items to be addressed. Overall well worth the fee and peace of mind for purchasing the home.

We cannot say enough positive things about our experience with King Home Inspection and BK Thomson. Not only is BK one of the most knowledgable people we have ever met, he is also an incredibly enjoyable person to work with. My partner and I are not the smartest when it comes to home maintenance, but after spending a couple afternoons with him on these inspections we are so much more educated and prepared to be homeowners. He was very thorough. We asked a roofer to come out and look at our old slate roof; even though we didn’t ask Brian to do this, he met the roofer out there on his time, while the roofer inspected the roof and did the estimate. So far, so good.

BK was great! He was very thorough, took us through the house and explained everything he observed as well as providing helpful maintenance tips. He was able to speak to the quality of materials used and found a few problems that we were unaware of. He gave a very complete report the next day. Unbelievably, while he was inspecting the home, our hot water tank ruptured (yes, and it was only 7 months old). We had a minor flood in the basement. BK had already been with us about three hours when this ocurred but he helped us clean up the mess. We repeatedly told him he didn't have to help us but he insisted. It is so rare to find people with that kind of integrity and customer service orientation. He has a passion for what he does and you can tell he genuinely cares about his customers. I would use him again in a heartbeat.

Overall Im very happy with my inspection. Prior to the inspection he was very informative over the phone. He even was up with the times as far as texting me details that he needed or wanted to tell me before the inspection, including but not limited to confirming the inspection was all set up (Side note: he only texted me after confirming with me that this was a good form of communication, which I appreciated) BK was very professional and arrived an hour before we did to inspect things we could not see. He even brought along bottled water for us to have. (Which was a nice touch, even though i didnt grab any) He was also missing his voice the day of but still managed to talk to us with his missing voice for the whole 4 hours we were there and didnt use it as an excuse to change our inspection or anything. I must also say our inspection was done on the first morning of when hurricane Sandy hit our area, and it was a blessing in disguise. He was very thorough and went above and beyond with telling us recommendations as we were going through the house, as to things he would do beyond what he was putting in the report. Because of all the rain, we were able to see water coming through the crawl space in the basement. Which we were very unsure that we would have seen if it wasn't raining so hard. BK even went outside in the weather and never complained to having to go back out when we had questions, and left us inside so we didnt have to get wet. The most impressive part is that we went over 4 hours (because of so many questions we had with us being new home buyers and knowing nothing about any of this) and didn't charge us extra for our little bit of extra time we were there. When we left, he gave us a binder with above and beyond information for taking care of our house as well as already punch holes to print our report out on when we received it. After the inspection, we received our report around 11:00pm that same evening. With his report he took the time to write us a long note with a book recommendation on a DIY home homeowners manual as well as writing us a great note wishing us luck, not to scared of the results, as well as giving kudos to our Realtor for being so great during the process and caring about us as clients as much as he does. Overall, i was very impressed with with his thorough inspection, above and beyond attitude, professionalism, kind manner, and for giving us a great first home buyers experience to Home Inspection. I would 100% recommend BK to anyone in our area looking for an inspector.
