About us

'THIS GUY PAINTS' was established in Feb 2000 after I retired from a company as a graphic designer. I have 2 employees. My wife handles the paper work and I handle the estimates (which by the way are free) and do the work. I can't say we've NEVER used subcontractors because on rare occassion, one of our daughters four has helped. But I'm always there. You will receive a written estimate. Did I mention estimates are free? Most jobs require a 50% deposit which will get you on the schedule. Balances are due at the completion of the work. I am a cash / check business. I do not accept credit cards. That helps be keep my prices down. In 10 years, I've not had one bad check presented to me. I do not charge by the hour but by the job. I offer 10% Golden Buckeye / Senior discounts. I am bonded and insured and can provide copies of that coverage if necessary. In addition to Angie's list, I can provide references from all over central Ohio. I don't advertise at all. My best advertising is an extremely delighted customer, who refers me to their family and friends, and calls me back the next time they need something painted or stained. I have accounts with Sherwin Williams and our local hardware store, Dwyers, who also carry quality brands such as Pratt and Lambert. Any discounts I receive on paint and supplies, which is typically 10%, is passed directly to my customers, I make no profit on the products used. One frustration my wife and I have experienced is contractors not being timely with their callbacks or showing up as scheduled. For most jobs, I'm at your house by 8:00 AM, and leave around 4:30PM Monday - Friday. If the job requires longer hours, I'm there. Good contractors are very eager for your business. Hi. I'm Chris Carabin and I am the owner / operator of 'THIS GUY PAINTS'. I provide both residential and small commercial, interior and exterior painting; deck and dock painting and staining, powerwashing, wall paper removal and installation. I do not use a sprayer on anything....well maybe exterior lattice work. But typically I find, especially with exterior jobs, paint or stain that has been sprayed on, only last about 1/2 as long as a job that has been properly brushed and rolled.

Services we don't offer

Sorry, I do not do any remodeling or home repairs.....I just enhance the work of other contractors by providing exceptional paint / stain finishes. As mentioned above, I can spray, but prefer not to.
