Skylights Plus

I sent an email to Skylights Plus after finding their name as a referral by Velux Skylights on the evening of May 30, 2011 and received a reply on the 31st at 7:45 AM. I was told that Robert Stock would call me later in the day or I could call him. I called him around 8:15 AM and Robert told me he could come to my home around 6 PM the same day to check out my problem. He called around 2 PM to say he was running ahead of schedule and could come over around 5. He checked the leaking skylight and resealed. While here, he checked the seals on 3 others which were OK. I never expected service and repair so quickly and was impressed by his responsiveness and knowledge to my questions. In fact, I talked with him about another job that he can do in a couple of weeks. This is one service/business contact that I will be sure to keep.

I will report again once the work is done.

Reponded promptly to inquiry about how to block sun from skylights when it was desirable to do so. Recommended product, gave an estimate, obtained the product and then returned and installed them. They work great.

Bob had to jump through many hoops to satisfy the city codes. He very well could have dropped the project because it took him many phone calls and emails to get the appropriate paperwork ready. It took some time for the project to get underway between Bob's schedule and our schedule (3 months) but we didn't mind since our schedules are fairly flexible. Bob came each of 5 days to complete the job but he was only here for half of the day each time. The first day he cut a hole in the roof and installed the skylight. The sencond day he cut a hole in the kitch. The third day he waited for city inspectors before drywalling the hole in the kitchen. The next day he sanded the dywall. The last day he painted the dywall. We are so pleased with Bob and his work. The skylight definitely adds much needed light to our formerly dark kitchen.

Bob was accomodating of my hectic/ever changing schedule while we tried to line up a time for him to give me an estimate. He is totally familiar with the sky tube type sky lights and was able to guide me thru the selection process. He arrived on time and installed the sky light to my satisfaction. I'd hire him again in a heart beat.

We contacted Bob regarding finding a solution to our dark family room. Bob came out the next day and presented us with some options. He is extremely knowledgeable regarding what product would be best suited where and how to get the job done! He quoted us a price which was acceptable so we decided to proceed with the project. He was scheduled to arrive on Monday morning to begin the project, however he never showed. There were a few light showers throughout the day so my husband and I concluded that the weather was probably the reason for his no-show. We called him that evening to figure out what was up. He confirmed that the weather postponed that day?s work and that he would start Tuesday morning. It would have been nice if he could have called to let us know he wouldn?t be out that day. He did come out the following day and completed the project over the next three days. Our home is very old and presented Bob with a few challenges, but he handled them without a problem or bother to us. The quality of his work is good and he seemed to go above and beyond what he said the project would entail. His demeanor is very easygoing. We are planning hire him to put a skylight in our kitchen later this year when we remodel. Our only gripe is that Bob isn?t the most punctual. He says that he will be there at certain time, but will not show up until a half hour to an hour later. It wasn?t a deal breaker for us since the job was getting done and he was doing a great job.

They were prompt and we were impressed with the gentleman?s knowledge. He did everything the way he said he would. We are very satisfied with the work. My husband was the one who dealt with them, and not me. We are happy campers.

Bob was responsive, price competitive and the quality of his work and materials was great.

Skylight was dripping moisture into bath tub. I contacted Skylights, Plus and Bob was out that afternoon for an estimate. The weather got worse and we had to wait until the snow subsided for repairs. Bob was correct in his assumption of what was wrong and fixed it once the snow and ice left the roof in about a week.

He was professional and courteous. Cleaned up their messes. Arrived pretty much on time. The work was done well. The roof tiles were put back in place, the painting and drywall work was very good. Had some issues with cold and ice in January which set us back a few weeks but he was really good about communicating with us. I'm very pleased with their work and plan on hiring them to install some new skylights in the future.

If you have a skylight there is no one else in Columbus that you should call. Nobody will give you what he will give you. He is the nicest and best person to deal with. He came out on a moments notice. He is very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain a lot of things that I did not know about skylights. He explained a lot of possibilities for skylights, the general construction of skylights, and so on and so forth. He is a very nice and informative person.

They came and worked on the skylight and were able to make the repair. We had a $1400 bid from a roofer for the same repair. They were going to completely rebuild the skylight, but Skylights Plus showed up that it wasn't necessary. So far, we haven't had any leaks. We would certainly use them again in the future if needed.

Mr. Stock ordered the three new skylights and when they arrived he replaced them, in one day. This required removing the old skylights, a portion of the roof shingles, roof underlayment and old flashing. He then installed the new skylights, roof underlayment, flashing, moisture barrier and roof shingles. He completed the interior skylight shaft work over 3 days. This was required because he had to build up the interior light shaft, plaster and sand to make the interior of the shaft match the rest of the room. Mr. Stock was excellent to work with. His work quality is excellent. He is extremely knowledgable and always ready to answer questions about the work. He is very punctual and telephones to let you know when he will arrive. He does an excellent job of keeping the work area clean and cleans up after each days work.

He said that he would do it on a certain day and he showed up and did it

I sent an e-mail to Bob Stork because it was during the Holidays, and I got a response the next day. He came out to look at the skylight on 12/26. The skylight needed to be replaced. He came back in a timely fashion and replaced it.

It was very pleasant. I had an early appointment that he was on time for. He wasn't there long and he apparently did a good job because I am not have any more troubles. I was very pleased with his work.

Bob was quick, he was out at the house within a week of calling. We had developed a leak in one of two skylights and he replaced both. The price was almost half of what another company quoted me. He was very professional and I am happy with the job.

They did a good job. I gave their name to several of our neighbors and they were all very happy with his work. His prices were very reasonable, and some of my neighbors reported that, while they were convinced they needed to completely replace their skylights, he recommended that they repair them instead. He just did a great job, and I would highly recommend him.

Bob came out the day I called and fixed the leak right away that I had called him out for. While here we told him about another problem area that had been "repaired" repeatedly by 3 or 4 different roofing companies over a period of 3 to 4 years, one of which charged me over $1000 with no guarantees. They all declined to come back out when the roof continued to leak. He suggested running water over the area to see exactly where the leak was. (which was something none of the others had ever done) He came back several days later, ran the water, found the leak and repaired it. While here he also replaced a piece of siding that had been damaged by a snow plow last winter. There was never any pressure to do more expensive repair work. (one of the previous roofers wanted to replace the whole roof even though it was only 7-8 years old at the time) I will definitely call Bob back if any problems. He is punctual, professional and knows what he is doing.

Robert came out within 2 days of the first contact for the estimate and replaced the skylights 4 days later. It took about 3 hours to do both skylights and they look great. Robert is very professional and explained everything. Left the work site spotless. Would hire him again without hesitation.

Skylights Plus has a terrific record with Angie's List, so I called. He came that day and gave me an estimate, and then came the next day, Saturday, to fix it. The quote was for $120 for the skylight. He then noticed a number a spots on the flat membrane roof that needed to be patched which he did for $80. I am very satisfied.

Bob Stock gave us an honest, informative, and fair estimate of the requested job. He thoroughly explained the job to be performed given the construction of our home and our desires. The skylight installation proceeded in two steps: external installation and internal finishing. The work was top notch, efficient, and clean. Bob also was accomodating of our schedule and the fact we have a baby (he minimized the time spent on-site making noise and dust by finishing some work in the workshop). My only complaint is that the work was delayed well beyond the original estimate multiple times for multiple reasons. Nevertheless, I highly recommend Bob and Skylights Plus for their excellent work and professionalism.

First company I called said I needed an $1100 repair or replacement. Called Skylights Plus and Bob Stock came out the same day I called. Said he could repair it for $400 which included both the problem the other company found plus putting some new rubber around the shingles to fix/avoid other issues with the installation. Repair was complete two days later. Very happy with this company.
