Poling Family Renovations

Aaron Poling came to give us an estimate. It was $3,000 for labor. He seemed very professional and that he knew what he was doing. He told us it would take 3-4 days once countertop arrived, it took 3 weeks because they only worked a few hours a day because they were late Every day they came. The day they started it was 4 hours after they said they would be here. Once they arrived it ended up being his wife and some kid they were "Training" to do the work. First thing that happened was he had under estimated the back splash by 50% and we were told that they would only pay for Half of the difference so we had to pick a less expensive one. When they put it up they didn't cut correctly which left a 2 inch gap that we had to put up a shelf to cover it. When they had to cut it around something it was filled with putty. When they removed the old trim they didn't take out all the nails so when they laid down the $1,000 countertop it took a huge chunk out of the it that they filled with putty. They brought 2 different styles of trim and then didn't even cut the corners correctly, the corners don't meet so they said they could fix but again just filled it with putty. They completely ruined my kitchen!!! My husband has severe COPD and we knew this would be the last chance we had to get our kitchen remodeled. This is the first time we had ever hired a contractor, we could never afford to, so we did much of what needed done ourselves. We could have done a Better job than they did and not paid $3,000! I am completely devastated. I hope someone reads this and doesn't go through the same thing.

Mr. Poling has been contacted on 8 different occasions. He says he is going to remedy the situation. Nothing has happened. However, he did suggest we hang a picture over the hole in the kitchen wall, and switch to an electric fire. He has met with representative of Heat and Glow about new venting for fireplace, which will require that a hole be cut in the new roof to accommodate new flu. 90 days should be sufficient for Mr. Poling to negotiate with Heat & Glow personnel about new vent instillation.

He didn't show up at the agreed upon time, and never called to say he would be late, or that he wasn't coming. He never showed up at all.
