Humes Contracting

I went to our local Menards store to get an idea of what color/style of roofing that I would be interested in. The roofing dept had a display of local contractor's business cards. I asked a store representative to suggest the top five. I then contacted them and set up appointments. One of the five, gave me Hume Constructions phone number since he farmed out all of his roofing to him anyways. Too make a long story short, only three contractors showed up in a timely manner and only two of them gave me a quote within two days. I had to wait two weeks for the other three contractors... Hume Construction was $200 lower than his competitors. Matt Hume, the owner, didn't come off with any high pressure sales pitch or try sell me something I didn't want. He came across as very trustworthy and down to earth. He gave us several addresses of homes with the sytle of shingle that we were interested in and my wife and I decided to go with his quote. We signed a contract with him on 10/3 and he contacted me four days later to see if he could start on our roof the next day due to an unexpected opening. His crew showed up at 7:15am each morning and worked until 6pm. They were very respectfull and we did not experience any problems with loud music or coarse talk. The whole job took less than three days and the clean up was more than adequate. My wife and I love the new roof and highly reccommend them to anyone looking for a roofer.
