My Handyman

The experience was very good. He did everything I asked of him and he did it in a reasonable manner. I give him all A's and will use him again in the future.

Our problem was the ceiling tiles were in a custom color no longer available. This contractor devised a creative way to purchase new tiles and paint them to match the existing ones. That saved us the cost of replacing the entire ceiling. The process took only a few hours and made the ceiling look like new.

Dave was really good. All jobs were completed as expected, and no issues so far with the fixes. Having him back for some other work soon.

Bill from My Handyman came out on April 17th, 2012 and was told what was needed done. It is now May 6th, 2012 and I have not received a quote nor a return phone call, when I called a week ago & left a message to see where my estimate is. Not very professional at all and I would be hesitant to use this company, even though they have a great record; hence the reason I picked them for a quote...

Originally Andy came out to give me an estimate on damage caused by water leak in the upstairs bedroom. While there I asked him to check on some other problems caused by water leaks. He was very knowledgable about all my concerns, and was able to give an accurate estimate on what the repairs would involve and what the expense would be. I was so impressed by his ability repair a patio door that had been leaking for 15 years, even though I had it replaced three times by two other companies. He was able to remove all the rotted wood and replace it with a solid and properly flashed foundation before reinstalling the door. It hasn't leaked since! An original drywall installation error caused the seam tape to pull away from the ceiling in the master bedroom. Andy suggested crown molding to correct for the error (which otherwise could not be permanently fixed) and the effect is beautiful! He noticed all the windows and doors on the home addition had not been flashed, thus, all leaked in rainy weather. He repaired all the problems and replaced a window in the upstairs bedroom. He did such good work, that I would never hesitate to request his services again. Andy was always affable and ready to explain what he was doing, I have such confidence in his ability to see just what needs done and how to do it, that I would always call on him to do the work around this old house!

We did not have a ladder to do the upstairs windows- hence called them to put all the screens back in- both downstairs and upstairs, which had been removed when the house was on the market. He gave me some advice on my windows as we were considering replacing them at some point. Although they estimated 1 hour, he went over an hour becoz initially he tried to do it from the inside, and when that proved difficult he pulled out his ladder and put in the screens from the outside and that went much quicker...but he only charged for an hour so I was happy about that. Was professional, courteous and wore shoe covers. Overall no issues, I would call them again.

Dave arrived at my house on time, was friendly and professional, and did excellent work. He knew I was putting in new hardwood floors and gave me very helpful advice regarding the installation. My only frustration is that when I placed the call for the appointment, the person I spoke to knew that I would need a new piece of OSB subfloor installed and told me that there would be some on the truck. It turns out that Dave did not have any on the truck, and I was charged for an extra 45 minutes of time because he had to go to Home Depot to get the subfloor.

After calling ahead, the handyman arrived early. He checked my attic (one story house) to see about putting the screen on the inside of the vent. The chimney blocked almost the whole vent. He then came up with the idea of rolling up the pliable mesh screen and push it into the louvers. The screen can't be seen from the outside of the house and seems to be working. The chimney cap was installed quickly. I wanted something to keep the rain, etc. out and to prevent any animals from entering. I was very pleased with the service and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

My Handyman was prompt in giving the estimate. They were able to schedule the job within 2 weeks. They arrived on the scheduled day and completed the job in the promised three day time frame. Andy completed most of the work. He did not work on other peoples projects while working on mine. He made me feel like my little bathroom was as important as a million dollar house. Great job!!!

Andy showed up on time and did about 50% of the work the very first day. He's an incredibly fast worker and the work was done well too. The first day he: Re-cased two hanging doors that he noted were letting in a draft, Hung new drywall, Prepped walls for painting with texturization and texturized ceiling, Installed stall shower(3-sided) w/fixtures, plumbed new laundry box for water attachment, Setup and attached a kitchen utility sink verified its in working order, setup and attached toilet. the 2nd day he: built out new baseboard throughout the room, attached insulation to the exterior door in the room that he noted was letting in cold air, Installed a new light bar, capped off and covered the exposed outlets. He left the area clean and tidy and ready for use. Good as his word - he cashed the post dated check near enough to the time frame we desired.

In and out in 3 hours. He didn't have to leave to get new parts....he came prepared. Just minutes before I submitted this report, I sent them a list of things we want them back to do. I deleted all other home repair contacts from my contacts list.....will only use My Handyman going forward.

I would recommend this company to anyone needing work done around the house.

I had been wanting an entrance door installed in my garage and had the hardest time finding someone that was reliable, reasonably priced and licensed to do it, which is why I turned to Angie's List. My Handyman was the first company that I called. They were able to give me a quote over the phone, which was the lowest price that I receieved. I was willing to have them do it because of the reviews that I saw on here. They were scheduled to come out at 8:00am. They were running behind on their job BUT they kept me informed, which I really appreciated. When they came out, they went straight to work. They took their time working on the job and made sure that the job was done correctly. My door looks great!!! I will be using them again in the future.

Trent estiamted the job and dispatched Dave on an agreed upon date. Dave with assistant arrived on time at the appointed time, completed the work in a very orderly professional manner. It was evident that attention was given to detail and workers were neat in cleaning up after completion of job. Given the way this job was satisfactorally completed I will use them again.

I contacted My Handyman for an estimate on kitchen and bath remodeling projects. Trent was responsive through email and we spoke on the phone to discuss details and set up a time for an estimate. Andy came out to look over the project. He was on time (even early), friendly, and helpful. This was on a Friday. Prior to leaving, he mentioned that he would email me an estimate on Monday. At the end of the day on Tuesday, I emailed Trent to find out where the estimate was. Trent replied right away to tell me that the estimate would come through email on Thursday. That last email was on 10/26/2011. It is now 11/11/2011 and I have not received an estimate. Obviously I have no interest in hiring someone who shows so little interest in actually doing my job. I'm really disappointed, as I thought that Andy was helpful...

They did excellent work, very personable, finished the job before expected, and everything turned out great. This time of the year whether they painted or we painted they advised us to wait until the spring because it would not hold through the winter. We appreciate them being honest and giving us that great advice.

Dave was running a little late, but called to let me know he was on his way. He looked at the problem with the gutter and knew what needed to be done. He caulked between the stone and gutter and that has fixed the problem. There were several other small jobs, such as starting my hand held leaf blower and installing glass doors on an entertainment center.

After consultation with Trent (owner), I bought the toilet, sink/vanity, and faucet. The serviceman picked them up at the store on the way to my house. The existing ones were removed and taken to the curb. The new were installed. The tank on the toilet cracked while it was being installed which resulted in a small temporary delay while he went to the store and got another. Everything was finished in a timely manner (even considering the cracked tank) and there was no debris left to clean up. Trent stopped by to check on things. I would definitely use and recommend this company.

We had water in our basement. I called and left a message, he called back and came out the same day. He came to the house and helped us move all the furniture out of the basement. We ordered flooring and once it came in, he came back and installed the flooring and some drywall and then painted all the walls. He cleaned up everything, I paid him, and that was that - no stress, no problems.

Instead of cutting my cabinet, he just raised it so he would not hurt the integrity of my cabinet. There was also an area that needed painted from moving the cabinet, and he was more than happy to paint that for me, at no extra charge. I was very pleased with this experience. I kept his card, and will use him again if I need to.

Called the co. on sept 7th. to fix the drain from the roof that the grass mower had broken. He said Bill would be out around six. He wasn't here so I called again and was told Bill was still with another customer but he would be here. around 7:30 Bill got here and noticed what he would need and went to Lowes to get it.. He did the work in the RAIN and finished at 8:30. I was so happy to get it done since I was concerned about the water going into the basement wall. Bill was so pleasant and we chatted for a few minutes at the door with me telling him how many companies I had called before them and they were the only one to return my call . I will use them again no doubt about it.

Called Trent around July 14th about some window repair/replacement work and he said he would go out to the job site early the next week to take measurements. He never did. I called him about a week after he was supposed to take measurements and left him a message and he never called me back. I'm moving on to someone who is a little more responsive.

I called on Friday. Andy was assigned to the job. At first he was scheduled for Tuesday but I had to change the date to Wednesday. The change was made quickly. He arrived on time. surveyed the problems and was able to solve them all quickly and professionally. He was both professional and competent. I would hire this company in the future and also request that Andy be the man for the job.

When I called for an estimate he was prompt in giving me an estimate and scheduled me right away. I had to call and remind him of my appointment because he had forgotten mine and was tied up with another customer. Once I called someone was here in 10 minutes. He was very professional and was able to to the job quickly. He was only here about an hour which includes the time it took him to go and get a part I was missing. My overall experience was very good and I would use him again.

Mr Handyman was great! They worked us in, because we were leaving on vacation the next day. We have had trouble with this door since we moved in 4 years ago. I have had other handymen come and look at it, but none seemed to fix the problem long term. Mr Handyman finally did! He replaced the frame, and painted it, fixed the latch so the door closes tight, and installed weather stripping. It is no a pleasure, instead of a pain, closing the door!
