My Handyman

He quoted me his minimum one-hour price. Rather than schedule a date, he said he could put me on his list to contact when he had a job that got canceled or finished early. He claimed that usually that happens within 5 days, so I agreed. It's been nearly 3 months, and the call has never come. In the meantime, I did find someone to repair the gutter screws. I have some other odd jobs that would take a few hours, and I probably would have used Mr. Handyman's services, but I wasn't an important enough customer for them, so I will go elsewhere.

They did an excellent job. They quickly responded to our call and there was no pressure to move forward with them.

Handyman had to remove rotted wood over garage, causing some siding to be replaced as well. Handyman found matching siding, replaced wood, and got everything to match perfectly. He even power washed existing siding, so old and new would match. AND the whole job wasn't as costly as expected. I would certainly use this company again.

The job was done good when he did it the way it should have been done.

we had a porch needing to be rescreened we were getting ready to sell house so time was important Trent came and looked at the job but never got back to me with anything after a week, I followed up was not happy with the result and am not sure he was even quoting on my job

The estimate was done in a timely manner. The team showed up 2 weeks prior to the estimated work date to complete the work. They raised a sinking corner of the deck, replaced rotting boards and stained the entire deck. A great job.

Dave from My Handyman was professional and did a very good job with the repairs that we had agreed to have completed. He proceeded with the work and asked good questions so as to not make a mistake or waste materials.

He explained everything that he was going to do and why. I would defiantly hire him again. Overall, the technician who came out was very good and knew what he was doing.

We got around a dozen quotes for remodeling our two bathrooms. We went with My Handyman because Trent gave us one of the lowest estimates and also because he was very responsive. We received an estimate the day after he came; we waited for weeks with other people (if they ever got back to us at all). We purchased most of the materials ourselves, while My Handyman provided all of the labor. The work took four days and the two guys who were here (Dave and John) were great. There were some unexpected complications (our walls turned out to be crooked, complicating the tile work and the plumbing in the second bathroom had to be moved over to fit the new vanities), but they charged us exactly the amount of the estimate.

The faucet had been stripped over the years. He thought he was going to have to take out a pipe and do some major work, but he was able to just put the handle back on track. He was very good.

I called to get a quote, spoke with Trent and he said he would try to come out Tuesday morning because he would be in my area and if he couldn't he would call me and set up another time. I waited all morning Tuesday, never heard from him at all. I called him Thursday afternoon about 5:00 pm, he didn't even remember talking to me and acted like it was funny and then gave about 3 excuses talk to 50 people a day...been really busy because of the rain...etc....I personally didn't find it funny that I sat here all Tuesday morning and wasted my morning waiting for him but I guess I have a different sense of humor than he does????? Apparantly he has so much business that he doesn't really need mine!!!!!!

Nice guys but I'm not letting that bias me. Nevertheless, as far as I can see, the job was performed very competently and I must say that I've never felt more comfortable watching people working on my house (we peeked a couple times but tried to stay out of the way). Time on the site was 2 to 2-1/2 hours. One man did most of the work and the other seemed to be in charge. Both were old enough to have had considerable experience and good judgement which is sometimes overlooked but important, nonetheless. We have had some extremely shoddy work done in the past when I traveled and wasn't able to always be here to see what was going on. So, after that experience, my wife thinks these men from MyHandyman are white knights in shining armor. She's ecstatic about their work, and when she's happy, I'm happy. I'm really impressed with MyHandyman and they will be the first people we call in the future.

It didn't work the door is already working its way loose again and I will need to have it repaired all over again. This time I will have the thing replaced which it what probably should have been done in the first place but I trusted them I figured they new more about this type of stuff than I did. Well I've decided that was not the case so now it will be 250 plus to get it fixed properly .

Dave arrived on time. He was professional and started working right away. Job was finished in no time and the clean up was so good you would have never known he was there. I asked about some bigger jobs I would like done and he explained what was needed and a time frame. It was great.

Overall they get straight A's, they did a great job.

All three trips, the work was very good. We did have a disagreement about the quoted rate for the painting on the deck. We called for an estimate and agreed on a bid, and when the service was done, the bill was around $100 more than the bid. I understand there are things that they may run in to that bump the prices up, but they knew exactly what all the job entailed and we even provided the paint to do the job so we did not think the higher amount was justified.

It went very well and the man was very personable. My only complaint was that he wasn't there for the length of time that I purchased.

Sent an email request for an estimate to replace trim on a window. Never heard back from the company. About a week after the request, my neighbor called to tell me a strange man was trying to get into my back yard, but that the fence was locked and he could not get in. The man then got back into his truck, sat there for a few minutes and left. My neighbor wanted to know if she should call the police, as I did not tell her I was expecting anyone, because I wasn't. I had no idea who this strange man was and why he was trying to get into my back yard. A a day after this incident, I recieved an email from Trent Franta who stated that he had "stopped by" "hoping to catch someone home" and "was unable to complete the estimate do to the fact I could not see rear of home". Well now I at least knew that the strange person was not trying to rob me. I immediately responded to the email and stated that I was available that morning and to let me know what works for him. I never heard back from him or his company. Again, if this is how customers are treated during estimates, I am not sure how I would be treated during the job.

Steve, did the work (caulking around kitchen sink and bath tub). He was very punctual (8:00 on the dot) and went right to work. His work appears excellent, I was very pleased, he was courteous and explained what he would do.

It didn't. Based on this company's lousy response to my request for an estimate. I didn't contact them again.

I found them on Angie's List and called on Friday afternoon. Trent gave me an estimate which included parts and labor and an Angie's List discount coupon. He said they could probably squeeze me on Monday. I asked whether they could tell me what parts were needed and I could get them before they came. Trent said the workman would have all the parts on his truck and since he doesn't put a markup on the parts and he didn't know which length parts would be needed for my home, it would be best to let him supply the parts. On Monday morning Andy showed up and checked for what parts were needed. He then left to go get the parts at a home improvement store. When he returned he alerted me before he shut off the water. He installed the faucets and shut-off valves. When he finished he showed me each of the outdoor faucets so I could inspect the work. He alerted me that these are quarter turn faucets and so there is only a 90 degree difference between on and off. It will require a much smaller rotation than the old faucets. He also showed me where the shut offs are in the basement and how to turn them off and on. He also explained how the frost-free aspect works. I was concerned that the price might go up because he had to leave to get the parts but the price was exactly what was quoted.

Overall, everything went very well. As I mentioned above, I got an estimate from them in record time! I received estimates from a couple of other places, and decided to use My Handyman, so I called to schedule a time. The day of the service, the handymen arrived right on schedule (8am). There were two, one who was going to paint the doors, one to repair the deck. Both were extremely courteous and seemed to work diligently. I was very happy with how everything looked once they were done.

They were referred to me by my roofer. I tried calling them to perform the work but they did not respond, come over or talk to me. I was disappointed and not happy with them as they never showed up to even look at it. When he did get back he sent something about the estimate but did not come over, which I thought was very strange he could do this without even looking at the porch. I expected him to respond since they were on Angie’s List and also highly rated. I might use him again in the future for a quote on the handyman business but not for any other projects.
