Excellent job installing the window which matches the others in the house and looks great. Careful clean-up. James and Sean were prompt, pleasant, professional and very helpful. I will definitely use this company again the next time I need a replacement window.

The price and product were very similar to other providers that I got estimates from, but the sales tactics really put me off. They use a very high pressure sales tactic that involved pressuring you to make an immediate decision and making derogatory remarks about the products of other companies. I feel like if your product is good enough it should be able to stand on its own without the high pressure. There is no reason why a quote for replacement windows should be good only for the current visit. When you're asking people to spend that kind of money, they should be able to consider their options in privacy. Basically, I could not get that salesman out of my house fast enough.

We bought a sunroom (9X11 feet) and deck(11X5 1/2 feet5) from Champion in Columbus oh on Feb. 29, 2012. Champion had advertised in out local paper and we had used Champion in another state before and liked their product. Construction was started on May 6 2012 and finally finished July 15, 1012 an we had problems before it was even finished. we were told the workman that did the installation was fired shortly after our room because his work ethic had gone down hill and they had to let him go. Problems were due to sloppy work. The composite decking was installed with a large chunk out of it, it was "fixed" by covering the board with a 1 inch metal strip. The decking also was not nailed properly, he had to return to put the rest of the nails in the decking. The metal strip had to be replaced with a 2 inch strip because the smaller strip was not big enough to hide the damaged decking. Had to adjust6 screen door, it would catch and not open smoothly. Should have been checked when installed but was not. The roof leaked in one place it was "fixed" by Chad who referred to it as a water feature. We thought he was joking! A lower window frame by the outside door was damaged and it was glued in and not screwed as it was suppose to be according to Chad. Window frame was "fixed" by painting over it. The metal strip covering the damaged decking was popping up so it was installed upside down. Had to ask may time for paint so we could touch up chips and dings ourselves. Roof leaked again this time in two different places and again it was "fixed" after a two week wait. The cover of the access entry under the stairs off the deck was not attached and fell out. There was a large opening and critters could have gotten in. Champion returned and reinstalled the skirting door. Sunroom roof leaked a different area, it was "fixed" after a two week wait. Railing on deck not installed correctly and fell apart with cold weather. It was "fixed" not replaced The roof on the sunroom has leaked in different areas every once or twice a month. On Jan 15, 2013 Champion came to fix the leak in the sunroom for at least the sixth time. He took pictures of everything and he also took pictures of the roof on our house and said the shingles were curled to the west of the sunroom, he wanted to tell us so we could keep an eye on it because he liked to help old people. The roof was only eight years old and we had someone look at it and was told there was no problem or leakage. There is no or every has been and water damage inside the house and garage. On Feb 26, 2013 the sunroom roof leaked again. We called Champion for a repair appointment. The same day we got a call from Victor Yanev, in the course of the call he said he had pictures of the roof on the house showing a hole in it and the water was getting there and coming down to the sunroom roof. After seven months it is now our homes fault and he is passing the buck. A very unpleasant conversation. Feb. 27, 2013 we contacted the Champion district office in Cincinnati OH, we had false hope for awhile that it would be resolved but it was not. Victor told us his boss was the CEO not customer service. March 4, 2013 Rick McDonald from Champion in Columbus installed some new flashing were the flashing put on Jan. 15, 2013 had popped up and calked it and a small hole he found in the roof edge. He also took out the old caulk from the H rib and caulked it again. March 8, 2013 roof leaks again. March 14, 2013 Chad, Kevin, and James from Champion in Columbus came and did a water test by taking a garden hose a shooting water right into the area on our house roof they claimed was the problem. He also removed some flashing they had placed incorrectly. They also caulked the gutter on the sunroom which they said should been done before. A leak did not appear during the water test. On March 15, 2013 Jim Justice of Justice Construction of Palaskala OH arrived at the request of Champion of Columbus. In his report, paid for by Champion, he noted several situations that should be corrected and he would be glad to do the work for us if we wanted him to. After three months without a leak we thought it had been resolved. On July 9,2013 there was another leak in a different area. July 15, 2013 a representative from Champion in Columbus came to our house, he did not bring anything to fix the leak but to take pictures and report back to his bosses. We have not heard back from them yet. I know we are on the edge of their sales district and it involves considerable time for someone to come here but that did not stop Victor accepting the job or our money. We feel Victor is trying to pass the buck and not take responsibility for the sunroom roof. We do not feel we are being unjustified to ask for a new roof on the sunroom or a refund so we can hire someone else to put on a new roof on the sunroom. July 24 2014 - after over two years, BBB arbritration, technical inspection that stated the roof had been installed incorrectly and Champion deneing any of the findings. Champion was told to pay us the amount to replace the roof. After all this we found a leak on the outside corner of the sunroom. It had been leaking for some time because when we pulled back the floor covering it was wet, rotted, moldy and black. Champion was notified and said the warranty has been canceled for the entire structure. We did have the roof replaced and we no lnger have a leak.

The salesman (Rick) came out to go over the offerings from Champion Windows. Upon entering our home, he wanted to know how much time we had because some homes he went to people didn't want to hear the entire sales pitch. This seemed unprofessional to us. How I look at it, if I am going to spend a large amount of money on windows, I want to hear every reason why I should be spending it with a specific company. We told him upfront we were shopping for windows and we were not going to purchase on the spot. We had 4 companies we had contacted and he was the second we spoke to. We explained that we didn't want his cheapest windows and wanted to look at his mid to high grade window offerings as we didn't want to replace the windows in 5 to 10 years. I also explained that we had an issue with high winds and heavy rain in our area so we needed a window that could stand up to that. We asked numerous questions regarding how well their windows keep out water, stop high winds, how they reflect outside heat, and questions on the screens to name a few. He showed us a few different glass offerings explaining the reflected heat of LowE windows vs their Comfort 365 windows. One interesting thing was that he pulled out a heat lamp and a temperature sensor to show us the reason their Comfort 365 glass reflects heat better than LowE. I won't deny that it was impressive to see the temp drop. However, I would like to know if that lamp was putting out UV rays as well. Otherwise the LowE glass that he demonstrated didn't have an equal comparison. After a demo of the glass and a rundown on one of their window offerings he started with the high pressure sales tactics. He gave us a price of ~$16000 and said with the coupon from the paper (which we didn't even have) that he would be able to get us the windows for ~$14000. However if we signed for the purchase, he would be able to give us a sale that they were offering 2 weeks ago and bring us down to ~$9100 but it had to be signed today. He said he didn't want to pressure us into a purchase since we didn't have the deposit and we refused to finance the windows and down payment. However, he wanted us to sign sales paperwork to "ensure" we can get the lower rate and could provide them the down payment when we got it in a few weeks. There was no major contract lingo as it was on a sales form. However, that form stated that we had to notify them in writing within 3 days of signing it to cancel the order otherwise we were obligated to pay them. I questioned that and he said not to worry about it. As far as I am concerned, if it is there in writing, then I am obligated to pay it. And since we were not ready to buy for a few weeks, we wouldn't be able to notify them in writing by the time we had to if we wanted to "back out". During our discussions, I told him we have seen their windows and Alside windows installed in two homes and both people were very happy with them. He started telling us how Rosati Windows (which we did not bring up to him) are the same as Alside and that Rosati marks them up. He then continued to bad mouth numerous other companies warranties but never once said anything about other companies windows being bad. He just kept leaning on how good Champions warranty was vs other companies. The pricing part was by far the worst portion. He was more pushy than a sleazy, greasy, used car salesman. After we told him no at least 4 times, he still insisted we sign for this great deal and back out in a few weeks if we didn't have our down payment. Which per their sales contract, was not possible as we have to notify them within 3 days of signing. He stepped outside to let us discuss things at which point we discussed calling the police to escort him from our property as he wouldn't leave after telling him no the first few times. I called him back in to tell him one more time before calling the police. This time he picked up his things and left while trying to explain that we were making a mistake. The icing on the cake was that we were promised a $25 gift card to Outback which sat on our table the entire discussion. When he left, he took it with him and didn't leave it as he and his scheduling assistant promised. I really could care less about that gift card since we don't have an Outback within 40 miles of us but that was kind of the smack in the face that made me get an Angies List account to let everyone know the treatment we received. I will never us Champion for any service they offer. I don't care if I have to pay double or triple for the same service elsewhere. Their high pressure sales tactics were not necessary and not appreciated. I will be taking my money and my business elsewhere. To bad for Champion. Little did they know, the neighbors across the street are going to replace their windows after they see how ours turn out. Would have been a good way to get more business.

Kevin and another man came to the house when the siding arrived and the two of them put the siding on the two sides of the house. They were very nice and seemed to be very well trained. They made sure every piece of the siding was put on precisely and every corner was trimmed perfectly. They ran short of glue for the last piece of siding and had to return the next morning in the rain to finish but were emphatic about installing it correctly. The job was done beautifully and I was very impressed with everything from the date I ordered it to the finished product. As to the windows. The same installer Kevin came when the windows arrived but this time with a different assistant. The job wasn't done quite as smoothly as with the siding as they had a hard time removing the old windows and had to break several to get them out. That wasn't a problem it just took longer than expected. The assistant was good but would have to be watched as he wanted to do shortcuts to get the job done faster. Kevin was again very professional and meticulous in getting the job done correctly. They again ran short on spray foam for around the windows and ran short on time so had to return the next day to finish but made sure everything was secure until the next day. Kevin returned again with a different assistant who was also very concerned about doing everything correctly. They finished up and the windows, the trim around the windows and the cleanup. I was again very impressed with the finished product and the install. I will definitely use them again in the future and recommend them to anyone who needs either siding or windows. The price was a little higher than some and a little lower than others but the lifetime warranty and quality products were top notch and well worth the price.

and were told they would get back to us. We have not heard from them since. I am sure there are things that I have forgotten.
Description of Work: We had all the windows, doors and siding replaced on the house and just the siding on the garage. This was done over the course of 2 1/2 years and we had several different salesmen. The installers were different for the windows and doors. We had the same team for the siding which were very unprofessional. All the trim was cut and finished differently, we paid extra for foam backing which was taken off when they installed the siding. Alot of the pieces were cut too short, the siding was not attached to the house on the bottom. The crew left nails in the driveway and pieces of siding all over the yard. We have tried several times to complete this job with Champion and have not had satisfactory results. Last October we contacted the Customer Service Dept

Overall, the work done by Champion Window of Columbus was good. It was very well done. The crew they had was not what I would call the best, because they were not consistently here. They'd disappear. I know that that crew is no longer with them, for that reason, so people shouldn't have to worry about that. They handled that. Overall, the work that they did and the product that they used was excellent. I would tell people to watch for their sales. At certain times, they have excellent prices and good products.

We received quotes from four window companies. We hired Champion because of several factors: 1. We liked the salesman. 2. We liked the quoted price and lead-time (6 weeks). 3. The product offered is exactly what we wanted. I am very happy with the installation. Paul did a fantastic job! Unfortunately, the company took much longer than quoted to install the windows. We ordered them at the end of September, and they were installed in the beginning of December.

It did take awhile to get our windows installed since we ordered them in Dark Oak. This delay did not matter and we were told this upfront. Once installed, the area was completly cleaned. The two men that installed the windows were professional and answered any questions. In the end, we were told one of the windows had a slight scratch in the dark oak trim. They ordered a replacement piece, which took a while to get in, but again, it did not interupt our lives.
Description of Work: Champion installed 6 replacement windows (tilt-in/double hung) in our living/dining room area. The open area with a vaulted ceiling receives morning and afternood sun which heats up the area in the summer time. We had a total of 3 well-known companies come talk to us. All were extremely professional, but we were sold on the Comfort 365 Glass. We ended up paying a little more than what the other companies quoted us, but we felt it was worth the price of keeping the heat of the sun from penetrating the area.

Hard sell with the salesman that came out. Promises made that weren't kept. Sold you on insulation and comfort, but I am finding areas where no insulation was put behind the siding. Workers got here. Project basically went well, but felt lied to by the supervisor on completion, when doing walk through. Telling me it would be an add on to get a gutter put back on the porch, that my husband said they could do certain things a different way than I had expected, etc. Also, if you have an older house, make sure you are there to inspect the condition of wood underneath before they put the siding back on. Peak of our house has nails all through it because they couldn't find solid wood to nail to, but didn't replace, which was something the salesman promised. Have had them come back once to put siding back up on that portion, and under porch, which is still sliding out of place, so all they did was push it back and not secure it.

The sales person was very knowledgeable and friendly. On the last day of the installastion they were missing a few screws. They said that they would come back and finish it and they never did. They broke the connection on my siding glass door for my security system. I had to end up paying to get that fixed. They have been out once because there is a problem with the handles on the basement windows. The handles broke on 10 of the 19 windows that were installed. When they came out they said that this was a problem they were working on, but I was not told of this when they were installed. Always the screens can be ripped very easily. I have some problems with screening and they came back. The gentleman said they would come out and put in new screens. He said that he would take care of that, but it has been two weeks and I have not heard back.

These were storm windows, they are an added layer of protection. Champion did come back out and remade all of the windows at no cost to the customer. No other issues were stated by the customer. If there are service issues the customer can call in and we will take care of any problems. Champion will honor all warranties on our products.

Fine at first. We waited 2 months for our "custom" size door, they installed it was the wrong size, so the installer said it would be 1-2 weeks to redo. 2 more months later the correct door was installed. (with a hole in the screen) and the door track was bent and gauged. Installers were very nice but the manager was a jerk.

Basically it was horrible. When I gave them my deposit in june 2011 (yes, it took them a year from this time to complete the room) I was told wait time for starting was approximately 8-12 weeks which was ok with me. And completion time was 2-3 weeks from start. They did not start until the following January 2012 (yes, over 6 months). The workers came and went whenever they wanted. The brought huge amounts of supplies and dumped them in my back yard where they sat through the winter (rain, snow, sleet). They left expensive saws and boxes of brand new nails and other equipment in the same weather. When they did come, they were often there for just a few hours. They never told me when they were leaving or when they would be back. They were supposed to put insulation under the floor (all season room), but I watched them do it and they left gaps with no insulation and there was no moisture barrier between the insulation and the ground (about 2 inches). I told them I was concerned this had not been done right, but Tony said he always did it this way and no one else had complained. Champion had agreed to move the outside water faucet (and it was included in the contract) but despite reminders they nailed down the ply wood over the floor, with a hole cut out where the faucet came through the floor in the middle of my new room. I explained my issues to foreman (Justin) and he said I could count on him to get the job finished correctly.. They told me I could go ahead and put vinyl flooring down which I paid for and had installed. When the Upper Arlington city inspector came out Champion failed the inspection. The inspector agreed the insulation was installed incorrectly and Champion had to rip out the flooring I had installed, and the ply wood below it and remove all the insulation and add a moisture barrier. Champion did pay to replace the flooring. The inspector said this room did not meet requirements for all season room and they would approve it only for 3 season room (later worked out). Champion had to call a plumber to come out and fix the outside faucet since they had not moved it prior to installing the floor. It took them several weeks to find someone to come out and when the plumber was finally set to come, he did not show up (or call). It ended up that I called Roto Rooter (who came out in 2 hours) and Roto Rooter fixed the faucet at a cost of $800 which Champion did pay. Champion had one of their electricians come out to put in outlets and install fire alarms to meet code. When the electrician made the appointment with inspector, he gave the inspector the wrong address and the inspection had to be rescheduled. One of the workers spilled coffee on the newly installed plywood floor and I asked him to clean it up but he said it would not hurt the floor (there was a giant stain). They left the plywood floor out in the inclement weather for several months (no roof, no walls). When the plywood had to be removed and replaced since the insulation had not been put in correctly, the plywood was all bent and warped (and stained from coffee) from being exposed to the elements for so long. So, no I would not use them again and no I would not recommend them. When I have work done I should not have to watch every little thing to make sure it gets done correctly. I had to make phone call after phone call and remind them to follow up on things. I had some other work that I wanted to have done (vinyl siding) and Champion could have done it, but I got Lowe's to install it instead. Finally the district manager (Victor Yanek) came out (after I had called numerous times) and did resolve all the issues.

The sales person was a delightful young man and he knew his product very well. He came to my home to present me with the product, I was very impressed with him and the product. I was told that there would be an extra price for replacing that window for a permit, I called the county to check and was told that I didn't need a permit. I called the gentleman back and told him what the county said and they removed the cost with no problem. They had to remove a large portion of the siding in order to replace the window, they put it all back together when they were done and there was no evidence that it was ever removed. They did the job in a timely manner and they cleaned up after themselves. They explained what they were doing and why they were doing it.

It was great all the way around. The customer service took care of me and even checked for lead paint. They didn't waiver when it came to making sure we removed the lead for the windows. I would do a deal with them again. They were more expensive but it was a far superior product. They definitely do not skimp on the quality. Their warranty is by far the best out there. They were right on time and even made an exception for coming out on Saturday on our convenience. They cleaned up everything and when they left you couldn't even tell they were there.
