This company was hired in September, and having been making mistakes since then. They are nice enough, but they cannot get anything done for us. They will take the complaint, but they just don't get the job done.
Description of Work: They replaced windows on our porch that had never been sealed properly because of manufacturer defect. They disengaged from their hinges, the sashes fell, they would not lock, and they leaked. This company was hired to fix the problem, but they have done nothing but send incompetent staff and make excuses. They are happy to send someone out, but the staff is incompetent and the windows have not operated as windows should. The problem is still not fixed after five months of workmen coming to the house. This was an installation problem.

SALESMAN ARRIVED ON TIME FOR ESTIMATE. GAVE US THE STANDARD PRESENTATION USING THE HEAT LAMP AND THE DIFFERENT SAMPLE GLASSES. PRICE WAS A BIT HIGHER THAN THE OTHER ESTIMATES RECEIVED. TOLD SALESMAN THAT WE WOULD COME TO SHOWROOM TO LOOK AT THE WINDOWS EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT LIKE THE TERMS OF THE WARRANTY. STOPPED AT THE SHOWROOM AND WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE SHOWROOM FOR OVER 15 MINUTES, AND NO ONE CAME OUT TO EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE OUR PRESENCE. WE FELT THAT IF THEY DID NOT PAY ATTENTION TO US WHEN TRYING TO SELL US THE PRODUCT, WHAT WOULD THE SERVICE IN THE FUTURE BE LIKE. WE WENT WITH ANOTHER COMPANY THAT MORE FIT OUR BUDGET AND REQUIREMENTS.

THEY TOOK MY ESTIMATE, AND I GAVE THEM A DEPOSIT OF $325.00 IN APRIL. THEY DIDN'T COME OUT UNTIL JULY. THEY TOOK DOWN THE AWNING AND ABRUPTLY LEFT. A GUY NAMED AARON SAID THAT THEY WOULD BE THERE ONE DAY AND DIDN'T SHOW UP THAT DAY. THEY CAME THE NEXT DAY AND TOLD ME THAT I NEED A FRAMER TO REPAIR THE ROTTED WOOD.

DID OK JOB. THE TWO INSTALLERS WERE FAST, AND WHEN I POINTED OUT A PROBLEM WITH ONE OF THE WINDOWS, HE FIXED IT RIGHT AWAY. BUT LATER ON I NOTICED THAN SOME PAINT HAD BEEN CHIPPED AND CRACKED ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE (EASY ENOUGH REPAIRS, BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN PROFESSIONAL TO POINT IT OUT), AND THEY SCREWED THE SHUTTER BACK ONTO THE HOUSE INSTEAD OF HANGING THEM ON THE HOOKS LIKE BEFORE. SO NOW WE HAVE UNSIGHTLY SCREWS ON THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE.

THE AMOUNT WAS SOMEWHAT LOWER THAN ANOTHER BID WE HAD OBTAINED. WE WENT TO THE SALESROOM TO CHECK COLORS AND TYPE. WE ASKED FOR A CONTRACT SPECIFYING THE WORK TO BE DONE (REMOVAL OF OLD SHUTTERS, SIZE OF NEW ONES, AND INSTALLATION). THE SALESPERSON SAID THE CONTRACT WOULD BE IN THE MAIL THAT DAY OR THE NEXT DAY. WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED THE CONTRACT.

THE WINDOWS SEEM TO BE GOOD QUALITY. OUR RATINGS ARE BASED ON INSTALLATION, WORKERS WERE LATE & QUALITY WAS POOR. SEVERAL SPOTS ON DRYWALL NEED REPAIRED. THEN INSTALLER REFUSED TO WALK PROPERTY TO CHECK QUALITY OF WORK. HE SAID IT WAS RAINING. WE WERE WILLING AND HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AS WELL.

I ASKED ABOUT THE 'B' RATING ON ANGIE'S LIST, AND HE GOT DEFENSIVE AND SAID THAT ANGIE'S LIST ISN'T ACCURATE, THAT OTHER WINDOW COMPANIES PAY PEOPLE TO PUT NEGATIVE THINGS ON THE WEBSITE.
