Cavote's Flooring Expressions

Absolutely horrific. Keith Cavote installed the shower floor grout over an extended time vs in one application, creating multiple patches of assorted color grout. Instead of removing and replacing the grout, Keith skim coated the grout. This is against best practices, as the top layer of grout is breaking off and the incorrect installation has been confirmed by several contractors. We had Keith Cavote install a shower bench, and he installed it incorrectly. The slope is incorrect and the water accumulated on the bench wall and tiles fell off within two years! Instead of fixing the issue, Keith said we did not care for the shower, nor did we replace caulking. First of all, there was never any bench caulking installed – the claim of poor maintenance is incorrect. Secondly, caulk is not an appropriate solution - the bench slope is incorrect but his approach was to blame us. Keith applied tile directly to Durac board - with no sealant to prevent water from leaking into the concrete board. We now have thousands of dollars of water damage that needs corrected. Keith never adjusted the height of the toilet flange after the installation of new bathroom floors. As a result, we have had 2 leaking toilets for 2.5 years. Yes, fecal matter leaking on our sub floor and crawl space for 2.5 years! Keith Cavote confirmed that the shower niche has been installed incorrectly. Keith Cavote confirmed broken and chipped tile in the shower - HE INSTALLED BROKEN TILES! The floor grout in both bathrooms are multi-color and the kitchen back splash tile is uneven, many varying depths of tile placement and with several variations of grout width all throughout the kitchen. We asked Keith Cavote and Borders Construction to remove and replace the shower and instead of doing the right thing, they blamed falling tiles on us! Stay far far away from Cavote Flooring Expressions and Borders Construction.

Keith was sometimes hard to get in touch with or get a response from. I had the job done in two sets- upstairs first, then downstairs. I did have to call them to come back in and finish a couple of spots that needed filler, and they did not ever respond about putting the transition piece in after we'd discussed a possible day to come and do that. However, Keith was very good about answering my questions, was able to start work very quickly, and was able to salvage some ares that we originally thought needed new boards put in. He replaced a section of boards that had termite damage and they look great!

They provided a price and schedule up front and delivered as promised. They allowed us to do the demo and painting ourself to save on the cost. His crews were neat and courteous. We had a small punchlist at the end which was taken care of without question. I plan to work with Keith again on my next project.

The drywall repair is completely undetectable! The tile flooring job is impeccable, with excellent attention to detail. Fair pricing. Job done when promised.

Their cost was fair. They provide a good insight. Their quality was good. I had a couple of things that I needed them to change once they got started, and they did it without any problems. They basically did whatever I asked, whenever I asked them, and they went over and above without charging additional. They are somebody I would definitely recommend.

Lots of problems with job: grout lines are out of alignment, the tiles are not laid level, chipped tiles, corners done poorly, and grout is not a consistent color. When I called them back to fix items they attempted cheap fixes, like putting grout on a chipped corner or painting the corners they didn't bevel correctly.They were also very sloppy leaving grout on the ceiling and chipping the corner of a granite bench. They are low quality installers, combine that with the poor work ethic, and you should definitely look for a different tile installer. Price listed as $1 because it was done as part of a new build, I did not pay the contractor directly. Update: They left the shower head off the shower. I finally had the head put back in. The hole they cut in the tile is too big and the shower head does not cover it, thus leaving a hole exposed.

Keith Cavote came to the house and gave us a very detailed estimate to repair our existing floor and install new floors in the living room and dining room. Through the bidding phase we altered our choice and went with hardwood instead of engineered and Keith gladly rebid the job. He also included moving our existing furniture and removing the carpeting that other bidders did not want to do. When Keith brought the new wood over to acclimate and set a start date I asked him if he was willing to remove and change the color of the moulding in the kitchen. He was happy to oblige and they did not add any additional charges. The work was done in the time stated and the work was outstanding. His group took the time to keep us informed and took care of any and all small details that we brought up along the way. They even refinished a damage window seat for us. We have had issues with contractors in the past that have told us " its not in the contract". Keith not only did what he said but did more than we originally talked about. Outstanding group of people to work with!

They were exceedingly thoughtful and polite. They were clean. They stayed within the time frame they had anticipated. It was a very good experience.
