Benchmark Roofing

Denny came out on a Saturday to measure for a new garage roof. We were impressed with Benchmark--very thorough and professional.

Benchmark Roofing was one of three companies we called to replace my mothers roof located in Delaware. Their estimate was very similar to the others. We chose them because her roof was in immediate need for repair and they were able to start the next day. Their crew was very hard working, quick and polite. They finished the roof in one day and came back the next day to better clean the area. I would recommend Benchmark Roofing to anyone - they did a fantastic job.

A crew of about five guys arrived on the scheduled day and worked until nearly 9 pm. They returned a couple days later to finish about an hour of work. We were generally satisfied with the work, but we did express 3 minor concerns. These were given proper attention. One of the main guys with the company came by later and did some touch up work, making sure that we were completely satisfied. The full charge for the work was not processed until this point. BENCHMARK was especially helpful in the financial arrangements by coordinating their billing with our credit card cycle. They did fine work. The roof looks great. They were responsive to our concerns.

The entire process was very smooth. This is the third time, we've used this company, and have been very pleased all three times. The first time they patched our roof, the second time they patched it again for free, and the third time they replaced the damaged portion. Each time they were professional, friendly, quick and quiet.

Went above and beyond. I was worried about nails and screws in the snow so they came back out and blew a heater to melt the snow to make sure that got all the nails and screws up.

They did a great job with the roof but, they broke part of the driveway with the truck, and it took a while to even get them out here to look at the damage, and it is still not fixed. There was another situation where the foreman had to leave the site due to an emergency and the rest of the crew didn't speak English. They blew the main fuse and the only person here was my mother who has had a stroke, for which we had to call the manager who then spoke to members of the crew to remedy the situation, but it was just a very bad situation. I understand that he had to leave because of an emergency but there should have been someone here who could communicate with the crew.

EVERYTHING WENT VERY WELL. THE WORKERS WERE ON TIME, VERY EFFICIENT and CLEANED UP THEIR MATERIALS AFTER THEY WERE FINISHED. WE WOULD USE THEM AGAIN!

Guy showed up for estimate on appointed day, mentioned that he could do the work the next afternoon or the morning after that. He didn't show up. I called today and he mentioned that he got tied up with some other jobs and promised to do the work this afternoon. The work was completed by the time I got home.

Excellent. Steve came out on time a few days after my call and was good to work with.

I was less than impressed. I'm a single woman and I don't like some one showing up without calling beforehand and that occurred. They came to pick up the money but it was different from the quote I was given. They would say someone would be here on a particular date and some days they would, some days they wouldn't.

We had several bids and Benchmark was the lowest bid, they had a good warranty and were able to complete the work within a few days when the other companies said they would not be able to do the work for several months. The workers were really polite and cleaned up everything well. We are very satisfied.

It was excellent. The roofer came out quickly and gave a quote. Saw the problems straight away and knew how to fix them. They performed a quality job in short time and have fixed the leaks left by the previous roofer. The representative who came out was pleasant, professional and knowledgeable.

No problems that I know of. The work was done within several weeks of the roof inspection and appears satisfactory.

Steve Brown returned my call quickly and was out the same day, while I was at work, to leave me an estimate. While on the roof he discovered a small leak and sealed the pipe boot to prevent further leaking, at no charge. Steve checked back regularly while I waited for another estimate from another company. Benchmark came in nearly $700 cheaper with the only difference being he was not going to install a drip edge and the other company was. When I asked him about this, he said if that was the only thing keeping him from getting the job, he would include the drip edge at no additional cost, which he did. There was definitely some communication issues the day of the job, but once they arrived, they worked nonstop until dark and completed the roof that day. The gutters and downspouts were installed the next week. The roof and gutters look great! They did a good job of cleaning up with the exception of quite a few nails that I found on the decks. I would definitely recommend!!

They did a good job. They did leave some things on the roof, which they came back and got. Other than that they were very responsive and did a good job cleaning up.

It is listed above. It is hard to determine the problem when there is not an attic above the ceiling to look in. It is hit and miss to try to find the actual problem. Benchmark did a great job of continuing to work with all the options it could be. They were very fast in returning to my house when I would call.

They were punctual, kept right at it, had it done in the time frame established.

Benchmark had to come back twice as the work was not finished correctly the first time (had ceiling damage after rain). Representative was very friendly and has offered to fix internal ceiling damage (after the second visit). I was aggravated due to the fact that the second visit was planned on a Sunday instead of during the week - imagine spending your day at home with someone pounding on the roof.

Called on Wednesday and the work was done on Friday of the same week. Steve Brown came the same day that I called to give an estimate.

The job was very well done in one day. We were very pleased with the final result. Steve Brown was very knowledgeable and followed through on the whole job. When he arrived to give an estimate he climbed on the roof and repaired several shingles that were missing. After the job was complete he followed through by contacting us to see if we were pleased with everything. We would definitely recommend this company and hire them again.

I was very impressed with the service this company provided. They (and Denny) had installed new flange and flashing around the plumbing stack last spring and had done good work then. This time too they were very responsive. I called several roofers on Monday afternoon, in the midst of days of heavy rain, and the soonest anyone else could come was Thursday. But Denny called promptly to set up a time on Tuesday morning, once the roof was dry enough to work on. He was quite punctual. I didn't climb up to inspect, obviously. But Denny's descriptions of what he saw up there, what he did, and what more may be needed down the road were clear and helpful. He even offered to subtract today's repair cost from an eventual sealing of the chimney masonry if that should be needed in addition -- I was impressed by this offer.

I called Benchmark on Monday and identified myself as an Angie's List member with a newly discovered roof leak during our long rain spell. I asked if it was possible to have anyone come that day, though I thought it would be a long shot. Customer service, Vielka, was very helpful. The roofing technician called me later that day. By then the rain had stopped, so another day or two wouldn't really have mattered. He was able to schedule an appointment for the next morning. The next day, he called me at work from the prior appointment to mine to say he was on his way, so I met him at my house. He got there first! He was done with repairs in about 30 minutes. Since it was an odd leak, he answered my extensive questions and gave me beneficial information about my roof and siding. He also told me that I need to wait until the next rain to see if it's fixed. The repair warranty is good for one year in the event it's still leaking.

They are not capable and incompetent. They do not know how to put up the siding. The owner does not respond. They have field supervisors and workers who have quit. They can't complete the job on time. They are one month past the end date. Ridiculous as well as over priced.

They completed the project in about two and a half days. They were polite, professional, and were quick. They worked until it got dark.
