Benchmark Roofing

They were very good and did a very thorough job. They stayed on track with the work they were doing. They were very punctual and had very competitive prices.

I was very pleased with the work they did. We had some problems with all of the jobs and they made sure that the guys came out and corrected them. I would recommend them and I have.

We contacted Benchmark Roofing and set up appointment to get an estimate on siding, porch ceiling and gutter repairs. They never arrived for the appointment and we called back and rescheduled appointment with Ken (Owner) who promised to take care of us. The appointment was kept, however it has been approximately three weeks and we've yet to receive any estimate. At about the same time, we gave Benchmark's name to friends who also called for appointment and they have never heard back from Benchmark either! We are not sure what the problem(s) are, but we would not use this company merely because of their lack of responsiveness! They are not service oriented in the least! We know that companies in the area have been swamped due to the recent wind storm in Central Ohio, but our calls were all made prior to the storm's occurrence.

Benchmark responded very quickly to get tarps on my roof after a storm removed shingles down to the wood. They then worked with my insurance company to inspect and explain the extent of the damage which resulted in the insurance paying for a complete new roof. They arrived within a couple of days and worked very fast, tearing off the old shingles and almost finishing this large roof in little more than a day. I am very impressed with this company. And the new roof looks great!

I called the company on a Friday and got a call back on Wednesday. (This was a busy time since it was after Ike rolled through) They originally said they would be out on Friday, then on Friday changed it to the next week. Not a problem since my roof was not terribly damaged. They came out on time and were very pleasant to work with. I explained that I had less than 10 shingles that needed to be replaced. They suggested I call my insurance company to see what my deductible was. When I called Benchmark back the same day, they said they could patch it up that day, and they did.

It took a while to get the estimate complete, however I can understand that, considering all the damage done by the storm. Once the estimate was complete, which took about a week, work was performed the next week. Roof was complete in two days. We had issues getting the dumpster removed, and that took an extra day. Overall, it was a good experience and the price was right.

I called and talked to this company and they explained to me that the price of a house call was 350.00 which is 100.00 more than the day before. I asked him why and he told me that the roofers in my area got together and decided they would raise the price do to supply and demand. This is all right after a Storm so its not like they wont get the work anyway.

The representative, Steve Brown, was very professional and honest. He thoroughly went through the roof and recommended 0 work. In fact, he said not to worry about the slightly lifted shingles, as these would flatten out as the weather warmed. Instead of recommending work, he in fact told us that our roof has about 7-8 more years left before it needs replacement.

I called in the morning. They came out for an estimate and offered to do the work immediately. I said yes, and the job was done in no time. I have used this company before and the serviceman (Denny) is like Spiderman!

We already had replacement shingles on hand, left over from a previous repair. Called Benchmark and Steve was here the next day. He did the repair in just a few minutes and was on his way. Friendly, happy to explain, did a great job... I can't imagine a better experience.

Very pleased with the work they did. Would definitely use them again when I need a complete roof and would highly recommend them. They made repairs to my roof that will last me a couple of years before I have to put a new roof on.

I was not happy with the folks that did the work. It was sloppy; there were nails all over the yard. They did come back repeatedly to rectify the situation. I guess I didn't ask the right questions when it came to picking out a roofing contractor. I finally got a hand-written letter from Matt, expressing his apologies, so I did get some response to these issues.

They did a very good job. It was in climate weather when they were working on it.

Good. I was a little concerned that the crew stayed to work past dark to wrap things up....used a couple big lights to finish.

I would say it would very good. I had no issues with the work that they did. They were very close to the estimate that they gave. They did a good job on the clean up. I would use them again in the future if I needed them.

They did a great job. They cleaned everything up that they took off. They came when they said they would and got the job done in the time they said they would.

He was very polite and explained everything to me. He was able to give me a ballpark figure on a new roof for my home along with repairing my shingles.

The services went well. They were there when they were supposed to be. The only glitch was that they did not put the rain guard on the gutters originally, so they came back and fixed it.

Benchmark crew came out to review the repair. It was indicated the roof cap was required to be rescrewed to the roof surface. This was completed. However, during the next rain, the roof leaked, just as it did prior to the repair. The invoice came, and did not reflect the Angie's 10% discount. A check was remitted for the full amount of $250. A note was placed on the invoice requesting to know where the 10% Angie List discount was applied. A check was sent for the 10% discount in the amount of $25. This discount should have been automatically applied to the original invoice.

Dave came out within a few days of my initial call and measured the job and prepared a very competitive quote (Benchmark honored their Angie's List coupon). Various shingle choices were presented and examples (addresses) of homes were provided so we could see what the installed shingles looked like. We were a little concerned about the colors offered by GAF/ELK, so Dave provided us with samples of Owens Corning and Tamko products as well. We were again provided with addresses of homes that we could view to help decide on the proper color/style. Once we made our color selection, signed the contract, and provided a 1/3 down payment, Benchmark had their crew on the job within a few days. The entire crew (7 men) arrived around 8:30 a.m. on the first day and began work. Not too much talking, just hard work tearing-off the old roof. The entire job was finished on the second day by 7 p.m. All work was professionally done, and attention to detail was observed. Clean-up was excellent; all debris was collected and removed. Attention to finding and removing all nails (with a large magnet) was evident, not only in the grass, but in the flowers, bushes, etc. We've had numerous compliments on our new roof. I would highly recommend Benchmark to anyone.

There was a little miscommunication, but they were really hard workers. The first day, they worked until dark and still came back early in the morning the next day.

From beginning to end, it was a very good experience with this company. He came when he said he would come for the initial appointment, he went right up on the roof and looked at the condition of our roof. He gave us an estimate and samples of shingles. We discussed types of shingles available and he recommended what he thought would be appropriate for the type of weather and the amount of sun that we get. The workers came and did the job in a day and a half, also they cleaned up extremely well. We had them come back and do a few things which they did very promptly.

I called Benchmark to get an estimate on repairing a leak in our roof during the constant Spring thunderstorms. Steve came out to our house within 2 days and provided us with an estimate and even pointed out a couple of potential roof problems we weren't even aware of. Benchmark's estimate was less than half of another estimate we received in which the company wanted to tear off and replace almost half of our roof! The roof is only 4 years old and was replaced the year before we bought the home. Steve insisted that the roof did not need replaced, but the installation job was lacking and needed to be corrected in some places. Steve came out and replaced some flashing and resealed everything. He even replaced some rotten soffit that had been caused by this leak (the roof has apparently been leaking for some time). Everything is wonderful and we have not seen any more water on our ceiling! We will be calling Benchmark again to have our ceiling repaired, now that it is dry.
