Benchmark Roofing

I'm still waiting for a final bill from them. The work, so far, has been well. The clean up could have been a little bit better. The roof and gutters were done in the time frame they said it would be. I had to pay half down, so I have yet to pay the final bill. The only complaint I had was once I paid the first half of the money, I didn't hear anything. I followed up with a salesman a couple times and he would say he had to check with production. So 3 weeks later, I had to call them and someone from production called me back and they set up the date for the job.

The estimate was right on and they were always punctual never late. There were eight guys in the crew so it only took them one day to finish. They cleaned up all the debris.

The reason why I chose them was because they came out for the estimate unlike the other companies that gave me the estimate over the phone. I had to contact them a few times to cover the roof after the storm. I wasn't notified by the gentleman that came out for the estimate that there would be different workers. I had to contact them to let them know the gutter is still leaking like it is full with leaves but it is not.

Repairman came and completed the job in about 5-6 hours. Was a subcontractor, but that was fine. These repairs were necessary to stop leaks around the skylight and one soil pipe. The other three were replaced because they were about to go bad and leak. Repairman worked professionally and so far I have no more leaks.

Their service was excellent. Any issues we had were minor, and they were right there to take care of it for us.

They came out and gave me an honest estimate and explained that I didn't need any major repairs. I did have them do quite a few things on the roof including work on the flashing, the valleys, the garage, and also installed and new attic fan. They did an excellent job.

I would not recommend this company to anyone. I did not use them or never would.

We called to make an appointment for an estimate. They were able to make an appointment within a very reasonable amount of time, & they showed up right on time. They were extremely professional! They brought a few guys to look at the roof, while Terry, the project manager, spoke with us about the company & how they handle these situations. By the time he was done explaining the details to us, the rest of the crew had prepared an estimate. We were very impressed with them, & decided to use them. We had already dealt with 2 other companies, and this was by far the most professional & impressive. They filed the paperwork for us to the insurance company. After that, they had to come to our house a few times to get all the work done. Terry kept us posted every step of the way. They finished the project within the promised time, & they did a great job. Before we made our final payment, Terry came by the house to make sure the work was done to the promised standards. Overall, it was an excellent experience.

I did have some problems but they fixed them very fast and to my satisfaction.

About 2 and a half years ago we had Benchmark replace our siding and install new gutters. Although there were some minor problems, Dave the project manager was very good about keeping in touch with us and making sure everything was done to our satisfaction. We were impressed when a piece of siding came loose from strong winds just a few months after completion and Dave made sure the workers fixed it at no charge to us saying it was clearly their error. Because of this we thought this was a good company and even recommended them to our friends. But now, we're sorry we did. About 2 months ago we had some strong winds come through our neighborhood and we lost large pieces of siding off of 3 sides of our house and several other pieces had loosened. When we looked around our neighborhood we noticed that while many houses had lost shingles we were the only one to lose any siding. Based on this we felt it was clear that it was a workmanship issue. We called Benchmark to have them come out and take a look. Gary, the guy they sent out, said it was an insurance issue. I pointed out that nobody else had lost siding including the houses on either side of us whose siding was much older than ours. I told him about the siding coming loose before which the company now claims they have no record of. I also pointed out that that the exposed Tyvek wrap on the house didn't look like it was done correctly and after numerous excuses he finally said that the Tyvek, which we were told when we had them do our siding was necessary to protect the house, didn't matter because it was actually an optional thing. We tried to reach the owner of the company with great difficulty and when we finally did he refused to acknowledge responsibility. We were forced to go through our insurance company to replace the siding. Of course, we went with a different company. When the new contractor took down the siding they found nails hammered into the siding where they shouldn't have been and which clearly had been done by the Benchmark workers. We feel they deceived us by charging us for material we were never told was optional and for the poor workmanship which is now clearly evident. We are very disappointed to find out this company could turn out to be so irresponsible and unprofessional.

Their estimate was $2,500. I didn't need a new roof, and when I called the person he said, "What did I do to offend you?" I said, "Your contract was old and your price was too high." He said that I needed to spend that money to get it done right. You definitely need to work with them when you have a full roofing job; they don't seem to want to do small repair jobs and are quite adamant about charging the full price for the work.

Thanks to Benchmark & especially Joe, for taking me through the whole roofing process. Joe was there to meet with my insurance adjuster to help make sure I got what was needed. Joe was professional from the beginning & most importantly gave me an honest assessment of the damage, so that I could decide whether I needed to make a claim. The crew Benchmark sent out was fast & efficient & did a superior job. I have already referred Joe & Benchmark to three others. Thanks Joe & Benchmark roofing for a job well done.

We were so pleased with the salesman and the man who did the installation of the roof. You couldn't find a better group of people! They come back and check things out to make sure its what you want and everything is ok. They clean things up well, and I've never seen such a group of hard workers. They did a terrific job. We were very pleased. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I contacted Benchmark because of their stellar ratings on Angie's List. Unfortunately, our experience was less than stellar. It took multiple phone calls to get somebody scheduled to come out and provide an estimate (I know there were a lot of folks needing help within a very short timeframe, but if you don't want the business, tell me you're too busy and I'll call somebody else. Don't keep promising somebody will call me right back!). The project manager was adamant that we assign our insurance claim to Benchmark and that they would work directly with the insurance company. I was not comfortable with doing that and requested an estimate directly from Benchmark. I also requested copies of the contract and warranties for review. I finally got copies of the documents and an estimate, after much prodding by Benchmark to assign the claim to them. Their estimate was double what some other A-rated companies provided, and the other companies were fully amenable to working with me instead of the insurance company.

It wasn't great, although it was all fixed to our satisfaction. The gutters were installed badly and they initially tried to use a product that was different from the one they sold us.

It went better than I expected, Benchmark worked closely with us to complete the job and were able to adjust to the changes we made as they worked. I will be using them again when I need a deck or shed installed. All the work was done in a professional manner.

Benchmark Roofing inspected the roof and provided a reasonable estimate. The work was scheduled and completed within two weeks. It is four months later, and we have not seen signs of leaking during rainfall.

Brief . . . the adjuster did not want to do an estimate until I had a price from our insurance company about what they would pay for the damage. He claims that he had 9 other appointments that day and he did not have time to write up an estimate with out knowing first what the insurance company would cover/pay for.

The roof was damaged during the wind storm. Benchmark Roofing promptly returned my call for an estimate. Lloyd was very knowledgeable and professional. He explained every detail of what would be involved. The workers arrived on time, were very courteous and worked very hard. They did a wonderful job of cleaning up. My roof was done a week after the storm. A month later neighbors are still waiting to have their roof replaced by another company.

They were quick. They showed up when they said they would, and they got the job done. The price was average.

I have used them before, and I called about repairs. The next day Joe Monsour came out (Saturday), and did an estimate for the repair. He even faxed the estimate to my insurance company for me. They came out within a week, and repaired all of the broken parts.

We had wind damage to existing roof. Got several quotes. Benchmark was a little hire price, but then gave us Angies member and 3 dimensional shingle combined $500 discount which helped a lot. Their warranty is more than other contractors, 15 years. They sent a crew of 13 persons to tear off the old roof and install new Timberline prestige 30 year 3 dimension shingle. They cleaned up well after the job. Got most of the work done in 1 day. Have to return for some minor finish work.

They've started the job, they just haven't finished it. He gave us the name of the fellow who was going to come back to finish the job. They should be calling us any day now. They have been professional and helpful so far.

The experience was very positive. He estimated the job, and performed services within 2 weeks of the call (after a severe storm -so he was very busy...). Billing procedure was very professional - sent two copies of the invoice and then once paid - sent a receipt.

They came over within 1 day, gave me a very reasonable quote, and completed all work quickly because more rain was coming. They discovered two small plastic balls that were stuck in two different downspouts. The prior owners had tried to diagnose the problem, but were unsuccessful. The balls had been in place for over 10 years and had created leaks in two windows and basement flooding. Benchmark was able to fix the problems in less than 60 minutes. They also nailed shingles down, leveled a gutter and sealed the base of a chimney.
