Benchmark Roofing

Benchmark Roofing is amazing. They stand out to me. They were so professional and timely. They cleaned up everything very well.

I had an ice damage problem which was affecting my gutters and roof. He was the only company that actually got up on the roof, looked at gutters/roof. He assessed the immediate problem, let me know what would fix it.

Extremely well. The only reason I gave them a B on one category, was the design of the guttering. Due to an odd layout, the person who gave the initial quote suggested a very unsatisfactory design for the guttering. My wife and I came up with the final design, which has worked well. They have been extremely prompt in responding to concerns and other related issues! And we plan on having them do the gutter work on the front side of the house soon.

Benchmark was the last company to respond to my call, but their followup was excellent.I was given a price the same day with a senior discount. i don't know how their employees were able to work in such cold weather, but they were careful. The completed job was well done. Louis Bowen promised me the moon and I got it!

Returned phone calls promptly. Worked our repair in between other commitments. Steve was very professional, listened to my concerns about the siding and addressed them promptly.

It went okay, I decided not to go with them. They were in my neighborhood so I decided to take a look into their services.

Very professional and prompt with estimate. However, the estimate was several thousand dollars more than the next highest estimate, so we chose a less expensive contractor who had replaced two of our neighbors' roofs. Also, unlike the other estimates, this one did not address some unique ventilation issues that had caused the roof to deteriorate prematurely.

Pleasant till full payment received. Confrontational when questioned about deliverables after payment has been processed. Defiant and rude when confronted with proof of delivarebles.

Our roof will need to be replaced in the next 5 years and we will definitely be calling Benchmark for and estimate.

We used to have a leak on our porch, but no longer after Benchmark replaced the whole roof. The service was excellent.

I must say it has been quite some time since I have received the kind of excellent service that these folks provided.. From start to finish they held my hand with the insurance company and walked me through the whole process. Denny was my original contact and he visited my house many times in preparation for the insurance company and then consulted with them. Ron was the project manager and the gentleman that did the installation did a great job including an immaulate clean up. If you have to get a new roof these are the folks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They did a good job and would hire them again.

The work turned out ok. They were prompt, professional, and courteous. They kept assuring me there would not be any problems, but if there were, I would have to pay to have these things fixed. They ended up not charging me for the additional work since the additional work was not written in the original contract. The roof was in worse condition that they had planned, and it took them longer than expected to get back with me. The communication broke down towards the end, but the work was completed. I do have a 25 year warranty on the roof and there have been no problems with the roof since they came to fix it.

Jamie Young of Benchmark Roofing worked with our insurance company to replace our wind damaged roof. He was always punctual and kept me in the loop as he worked with the insurance adjustor. I really appreciated his knowledge about the claims process. The old roof came off and the new shingles went on in a day. The roofers were careful and cleaned up as they went along. The roof looks great, no leaks! I am impressed with Benchmark's commitment to customer satisfaction and have recommended this company to several neighbors.

This is a great company to due business with. It was a pleasure,not usually said for other companies. I called Benchmark Roofing because of the A rating from Angies list. My first call was in March. I wanted a estimate on a new roof. Jason Whiteley came to give me the estimate within one week of my call. Much to my surprise ,he found damage caused by previous weather conditions. He asked me to contact my insurance company. When I told him who our insurance company was, he said that Benchmark was a Blue Ribbon recipient for Nationwide. Upon hearing that ,he contacted Nationwide and they sent an estimator to confirm Mr. Whiteley's report. After confirmation from Nationwide, I dealt with David Denman from Benchmark. He answered all my questions on the roofing removal process and my concern about matching the existing shingles with the new ones. The roofing crew came mid-May. Steve Brown was the supervisor. I also had new gutter guards installed with the replacement of some of my old ones. The roofing crew were very good. They cleaned up every bit of roof debris. Mr. Brown supervised all that was done after the completion and then some. A couple of weeks after, we had a strong rain. My husband went into the attic to see if all was dry. He noticed that the vent from the furnace that connected to the roof vent had come dislodged.It was most likely from the pounding of the installation . Also one shingle had buckled on the side of the roof. I called Mr. Brown and he was at my house within two hours of my call. He fixed both problems. We also had a concern about drips from the gutters. He said to call him when it rained again. I did and he came out . He looked at the gutter and didn't see any defect. He said he would stop by when it rained again to see the dripping. Well, I really thought he'd never show up again. The job was completed and I had already signed off on the work. To my surprise, Mr Brown came to my house this morning 6/9 in the rain to check the drips. We consulted about what it might be and he said he would return again and seal a portion of the gutter. I would do business with Benchmark again. Everyone I dealt with were very personable. I can see why they are an Angies list award winner.

Overall this was a lousy experience and Benchmark lacked professionalism. Their representative did not provide the estimate. They did not follow up with me on the estimate for the chimney. After several phone call requests for the estimate, an entire month has gone by. It i now 6/1/10, a month later, and I never did get an estimate on the chimney replacement/ repair from Benchmark. Went with another company as a result. I expected to have to spend thousands to get the chimney replaced and this company representative simply blew me off. It appears that since the roof replacement was a no go by the insurance company that in comparison, the chimney work was not expensive enough to justify any more of their time or attention.

We had 3 companies bid the job and Benchmark was the best price. We liked the fact that we could choose the shingle manufacturer "a la carte". Other roofers are "tied" to a specific brand. We understand that they are "certified" on that brand which is a plus but we liked having the option to shop outside of their "wheel house". We did go with Benchmark's Certified Master Elite contractor status and we chose the GAF shingles. Our roof was completed quickly and in a timely manner after signing the contract. Our representative, Peter Laframboise, was professional and courteous at all times. The crew was also friendly and on time. I would have liked to have a "walk through" once the project was completed, but any concerns that I had were addressed quickly and dealt with immediately to my satisfaction. I highly recommend Benchmark Roofing.

Benchmark was prompt on both estimate and job from start to finish-Estimates and scheduling went as promised. Allowed for change to drywall texture in ceiling. O-ordinated with Insurance company very well

I am surprised no one called back because I had such a good experience the first time. I was a little confused I was not called back for the second round of work.

Benchmark came out in less than 24hrs, determined we had no ice guard under our shingles. This was not a huge job for them, but we were still treated like their best customer. Got quote extremely fast. Job was scheduled and performed VERY fast as well. Did a fantastic job from start to finish. Could not have been more please with entire experience. If you have roof issues, it would be silly not to call Benchmark Roofing! Our rep Mark Kitsos was great!

February was a very bad time for ice damming on roofs in mid-Delaware County. Our first four winters in this house went by without any ice damming problems. Last year I had a small amount of water in the house from an ice dam and I was not going to let it happen again this year. That day I called maybe 20 contractors of various types before I located Benchmark who could fit me in for one hour that afternoon. Benchmark's two men showed up on time and spent exactly one hour working very hard and efficiently at clearing the snow from the lower roof and much of the ice from the gutters. In the process of shoveling the ice and frozen snow off the roof they dislodged four small decorative roofing shingle pieces. My opinion is that, given the snow and ice load, the frozen down nature of the roof, and temperatures that day it could not be helped. I don't think that the integrity of my roof or appearance was materially harmed. I think they were trying to cover as many people as they could that day, which is fair to those people like me, who had a time sensitive need. The work was exactly what was needed. Even though we had more snow and bad weather later in the month, we got no water in house this year thanks to Benchmark.

I had no problems scheduling the appointment to get an estimate. They came out to do the estimate and were easy to talk to, but I never received the estimate. I called the salesman and the front office twice to follow up on it and never heard back. When I called and told them I hadn't received the estimate, they said they would follow up and get back to me that day and or the next morning and never did. If I can't get an estimate from them, I'd hate to see what would happen if they did any work on my roof and I had any questions.

Not very well. I have used them in the past and have been happy with their work. The salesman with whom I worked is no longer there, and it seems that their front-office is going downhill.

Within the course of a day the crew was able completely remove the old roof and put on the new roof. They offered a warranty longer than my insurance company provided. They were timely and finished the job within a day. They cleaned up everything. I don?t think I would have a new roof without Jaime.
