His estimate was much too high, so I decided not to use the company.

The result was fantastic. Walt bored the tunnel perfectly, tied into the drainage system, and my sump pump no longer runs. The sump pump is merely a back up at this point. The yard was virtually undisturbed. His estimate was lower than other providers as well. If you have the fall, I highly recommend this approach and Walt's services.

We had sewer problems due to tree roots, and out plumber suggested we call Walt Biggs Excavating to install an outdoor cleanout for access for the machine he needed to use. We thought we had a little time to think about it, but New Year's Eve the plumbing system backed up. I called Walt Biggs Excavating New Year's day, and he was able to set up a time Monday afternoon (he had another job Monday morning and thought it would be finished). He called Monday and let me know that the morning job developed problems and he couldn't make it, but would be out Tuesday morning. I think he was very busy, but knew we were without sewer sevice & made time for us. He came out Tuesday with a small backhoe, and was very polite & friendly. They did the job very quickly ( a few hours), and the area looks very level & smooth, and the cleanout is installed & ready. Over the phone he estimated a slightly higher price, but the job went quickly enough that it cost less, which was a nice suprise. He seems to be a very positive & honest guy, and we plan on having him come out this spring to run a camera down the system and make some further inprovements -- he had some good suggestions, taking into account our budget & old sewer system. Over all, a very positive experience and we will definitely be using this company again.
