Pete the Plumber

Very disappointed. I spoke to the owner (Pete) and his wife, and they would not do the work unless it was paid for that same day. I live in another county and it is paid for by a special account. Their narrative on Angie's List states they do work on commercial as well as residential, but that they don't bill. Commercial work but they don't invoice? Really? The need is for work approved by the Butler County Probate Court for a guardianship. Owner (Pete) stated he didn't know what a guardianship is (really?) and he is worried I might be trying to rip him off. Just need a shower fixed for an elderly widow. Very sad he is so suspicious. As a attorney, I have never run into this before. Ever. Really sad that they are so cynical. I've been a business owner for many years and I trust other professionals to do the work and am just really surprised. Let this be a lesson to other attorneys out there with guardianships. Can't use Pete the Plumber. He is too wary and must not need the business. I chose "C" for overall experience but is was really a D for disappointing. Certainly not average in my experience. I'll call Roger Brown Plumbing and I know he'll get it done for me. He's trusting and not leary!

I sent a message through Angie's List to Pete the Plumber on Monday morning, by that afternoon I had received a response on Angie's List to provide my phone number or to call them to schedule service. I called and to my surprise they were able to send someone out the next day to look at my problem. I have a bar sink in my basement that was installed by the previous homeowners on an outside wall. The first year we owned the house the pipe burst and flooded the basement, and after repairs and more insulation it still froze (but no bursting) during winter #2. This year we decided to have a more permanent fix to the problem. Pete the Plumber sent two personnel, a plumber and an assistant and they showed up promptly and were very friendly and professional. Since it was a finished basement, it took quite a bit of time to find a good location to install the shut-off valves to prevent future freezing. This involved cutting test holes into my basement ceiling to find the location of the supply pipes. After much searching they found a good location for the valves and installed them with no issues and cleaned up afterwards. My only minor markdown on quality since I have a couple holes in my ceiling due to the exploratory nature of the work that remain un-patched; but I understand I hired a plumber and not a drywall repair company.

The Plumber "Jim" did a very good job, very proficient, and knew just what had to be done. I would call Pete The Plumber to do any additional plumbing work.

On time and was done quickly

We recently moved in to this house and found much of the plumbing to be aged and several valves corroded. Wanted to change out the faucets to more contemporary ones but the corroded valves made us call Pete to make sure the job was done properly. One outside faucet was leaking. There was also a water softener that the previous owner said had been non-functional for years. The water here was soft enough for us and we wanted the unit taken out and the lines tied back together. The service was originally scheduled for Thursday but they had a cancellation on Wednesday and came over to do the work. There were two plumbers in the truck and they worked steadily to get the everything done. They told us when they encountered issues and we were able to give them the go-ahead for items that would require additional time or expense. They were meticulous about keeping the areas clean and cleaned up afterwards. We are very happy with the results and would call Pete again for any future plumbing needs.

Jim and Kirk arrived on time were professional, told me what they had to do, did their job very well and quickly. Overall great experience. I would highly recommend.

About a week ago, I noticed a small drip over the water softener. I normally work with a local guy but he was MIA after two calls, so I contacted Pete the Plumber on Wednesday 7/22 to schedule repair after seeing all the other good reviews about his company on Angie's List. Pete was very courteous and professional on the phone and the soonest we were both available was Friday the 24th (I work long hours and it's hard to leave early sometimes). 36 year veteran Mark and apprentice Brandon were the actual plumbers who performed the work. Both were polite, professional, and very respectful of my home. When assessing the job, Mark identified evidence of a leaking elbow over the water heater in addition to the leak over the water softener and thoroughly explained all the repair options. When I gave the go ahead to fix everything, Mark very carefully and quickly removed the bad sections of plumbing, an unused extra faucet over the laundry sink (at my request), and set up the new plumbing with room for future expansion - all the while explaining how and why he did each stage of the work. When the job was complete, Mark and Brandon cleaned everything up and left the area nicer than it was when they started. The new piping is much tidier and looks a lot better than the previous set-up. It was clear Mark and Brandon had a good working relationship and enjoyed their work, so what normally might have been an unpleasant experience was quite the opposite. I would gladly hire them again.

They did an excellent job. Two plumbers worked all morning without taking a break, and were thoroughly professional. I have some more plumbing work that needs to be done and I had planned to call them to do it. BUT...about a week later we had an emergency. My basement was taking on a lot of water from a sump pump malfunction. I called Pete for help but the lady in the office said they couldn't do anything for me until the next afternoon. I pleaded that I needed help now. By the next afternoon the basement would have been completely flooded. She casually told me to call another plumber. So I called Laux Plumbing. He came out immediately and took care of the problem before anything in the basement was seriously damaged. He was every bit as professional as Pete's workers were. So now who do you think I'll call for the additional plumbing work I need?

Removed the old kitchen sink faucet and replaced it with one that I purchased and had ready for them. They arrive when they say they will and do the work in a manner that is great - treating your house with respect. I gave a "B" in price because they are expensive, but I think all plumbers are. You do get what you pay for here. I have used Pete the Plumber several times before in my house and in rentals I own. I will use them again when ever needed.

Jim and his coworker arrived right on time after calling to let me know when they were leaving, which was very nice. They got right to work when they arrived. They have to basically rebuild the main shut off as the pipe leading to it had split and there was split right at the shut off. They also installed a way to drain the lines if the home is unoccupied. Once finished they inspected the rest of the plumbing in the mobile home to make sure there were no other leaks or issues. They found two small issues with leaky faucets which we can fix ourselves. I've used Pete the Plumber in the past and I'll definitely use them again.

This appointment was nothing short of amazing, and left me with a smile. I had a new counter top designed for the purpose of creating a dog bathing station. Upon receiving the the counter top, many discrepancies were evident regarding the drilled holes (in the area where the faucet was to be installed). I was pretty sure that an entire counter top would have to be re-made. In just a few moments Mark came up with a solution to fix all the problems. I couldn't believe my luck to actually have an experienced professional on the job. The dog bathing station is just beautiful. After the bathing station was complete, a second faucet was installed as an upgrade, and although there were a few problems along the way, Mark once again worked around the issues. During this service call Mark was also focused on the additional responsibility of properly training a new employee, Brandon. We were so impressed with the detail and instruction that was given...not just regarding plumbing, but customer service, cleanliness and accountability were also stressed. Brandon did a great job on his first day. He was ready to work and didn't hesitate to assist whenever called upon. It's been a very long time since we have had the good fortune of actually having someone in to do a job as fine as this was.

I cannot say enough positive things about Pete the Plumber. We have had them come to the house for various plumbing needs. They are responsive to my calls, prompt, professional and skilled. As my husband said, "well, now we have our plumber for life."

This is the third time I have used Pete the Plumber for household repairs. The men are professional, courteous, and do quality work. I highly recommend them for any of your plumbing service needs.

Came out after we had our floors redone in the bathroom. Was done in less than 2 hours and everything has been fine since. Would certainly recommend.

Had them out three times as numerous repairs were needed on home purchased from FNMA foreclosure. The plumbing was a mess and could not be inspected during the purchase process since main valve leaked. Kept finding more and more problems as each leak was fixed. Plumbers were professional and punctual. Would use them again if needed.

I bought a deal, and was called back the same day. I told them what I needed, and I was scheduled for two days later. Two men arrived from Pete the Plumber right on time. They asked me about the plumbing jobs I needed done and where the bathrooms were that needed the repairs. One plumber worked in the kitchen, while the other went to work on the bathrooms. I was really impressed with the knowledge the plumbers had, as well as having all the necessary tools and parts to do the repairs on hand, so they were able to get everything done in a timely manner. They were very careful, and cleaned up after themselves. They even replaced my items under the kitchen sink, and asked if there was anything else needing to be done before they left.

Actually got to my house within a couple hours after calling. Work done very well, very professional, took great care to wear footies, etc. Very impressed!

They also added a utility sink in our basement. The work was excellent. The were very professional and easy to work with. What stood out the most is they provided me with a range of options and helped me find the best plan for myself.

They do an excellent work but it's a little bit expensive.

Pete showed up at my house and said he would give an estimate for the work it would take to repair my laundry room faucet and fireplace. We were charged $65.00 which we paid with the understanding that once the work was performed that money would be applied to the final bill. Over the last month we have since sent two emails asking about the estimate for the work which we have never received. So essentially we paid Pete $65 to come to my house and not perform any work.

Work was excellent. Would highly recommend them.

I am so pleased with the service Pete provides! He was incredibly thorough with the information provided beforehand and answered all of my questions before I even decided to choose his company. Scheduling was simple and straightforward. They were responsive and came on the day decided. The installation went smoothly and everything was cleaned up when they left. Pete and his assistant were completely professional. I highly recommend this company...I'm always appreciative when a home-improvement/repair project is seamlessly completed!

The work was good. We have used him three times and have been really happy with him. He is very friendly. When you call on the phone he is never in a hurry. He takes the time to talk with you. He shows up when he says he will be there. I would tell a friend to have no fear, this is the guy to call.

He was very professional and cleaned up after himself. He was very prompt.
