Pete the Plumber

We noticed that our water bill was increasing rapidly each month, and determined we must have had a water leak outside the house. I called several plumbers in the area, and had difficulty finding many that were willing to do outdoor plumbing work. I managed to locate several, including Pete the Plumber, and requested quotes from all of them. Pete responded by phone the same day I called, provided a general estimate, and asked if he could come out to take a look and provide a more detailed estimate, free of charge. A couple of days later I had Pete out to my house, and he quickly determined that the water line had broken just outside the house at the foundation. He then provided a more detailed estimate of services, and a timeline of how quickly he could perform the work, subject to county utility inspectors coming out to mark utility lines. He followed up the same night with a Thank You e-mail for allowing him to bid on the repair. I elected to have Pete perform the repair, and he stated he could be out the day after the country marked my utilities. The day of the repair, Pete came out promptly and began the repairs. Throughout the repair, he had to enter my house several times, and each time removed his boots so as not to track dirt in the house. The repair was done efficiently, and Pete made sure to keep me updated of any problems they encountered, as well as progress updates of how it was going. Following the repair, he answered all my questions, offered to take away some large rocks they unearthed while doing the repair, and even provided estimates of a couple other unrelated plumbing projects I was interested in. When he presented me with the invoice, I noted that the time shown for labor was less than the length of time they'd been there, and Pete explained that he had encountered some difficulty with controls on the excavator they were using, and had not charged me for the time it took him to get used to the controls. Overall, an outstanding, pleasant experience that left me very satisfied. Would definitely consider using Pete the Plumber again, and would not hesitate to recommend Pete for plumbing services.

Called Pete with leaky outside faucets. He returned my call and worked us in. He replaced the two outside faucets, reseated two of our toilets and fixed our old fashioned high tank water closet. No more wiggley toilets or dripping faucets. Very professional and hard working. The comunication was awsome! Would definitely call him again.

The whole job went well. Everything was put in well and it has functioned very well in the time since. Pete was able to make everything work well to fit our desires. All of the other jobs mentioned went very well. Pete is very professional. He is courteous, honest, and dependable. They don't come any better!

As above we had water dripping into the basement from an unknown source. Pete quickly found the source of the leak and fixed the problem.

I love the professionalism, promptness, and honesty of the firm but the recommendation turned out to be a bust (I wrote a separate review on Yeager). For general plumbing services, I would consider them in the future.

Pete came by, gave an estimate, and made an appointment.His estimate was accurate/honored.He was punctual.It ended up being a bigger job than anticipated, but he performed well, was friendly and professional.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Pete the Plumber to friends and neighbors. If (when) future plumbing services are required, I would put Pete first on the list of calls.

After a terrible experience with another company, I called Pete the Plumber, based on an Angie's list recommendation and Pete called me back in, literally, five minutes. I told him what the problem was. He told me when his team would be at my house (the same day, mind you). His team, Marc and Jim, were professional and friendly. They completed the work quickly and even cleaned up after themselves. The price was fair for the work done. This was an excellant experience and Pete the Plummer now has a new customer. I wish all companies were this professional, especially my once and never again home warrenty company, Arkidus.

The work was done quickly and and done right. Pete was quick to return my phone calls, worked me into his schedule within a week, and gave me a price I could live with. He tells you up front what the worst case scenario might be and charges less if things turn out to be simple with no big problems. In my case, he charged me $250 less than his original quote since all went smoothly. I recommend Pete to anyone who wants the work done right, at a fair price, and by a friendly and professional team.

Mark & Nick responded to my call. They installed 3 better faucets that I had already purchased and fixed a kitchen drain issue I had. When I bought this house 5 yrs ago house inspector had written up 3 things that I should have fixed with the plumbing, one was the kitchen drain that was not properly vented & was clogging more & more and draining out onto my patio when I plunged to get backed up water out of kitchen sink. I had previous "house inspection report" thinking 'inspector to plumber' was better explained than what I could convey to Mark. Didn't help much. Mark said the kitchen sink water couldn't be emptying out on patio. I insisted they look @ plumbing in coal room crawlspace & to check outside on patio where water I used to clean sinks had emptied. I should have saved some water in sink & plunged out for them to actually see. My dog always waits outside for my breakfast smoothie rinse. If only my dog could speak to tell Mark! They worked for 4.5 hours. Very courteous and did good job with cleanup. I thought it was pricey. No Angies discount & I didnt remember $25 coupon when I first looked up. Yes, I would use for any emergency plumbing needs but would look for better price to install faucets and replace old plumbing.

Called in the afternoon. They were here the next morning. They gave us a 15 minute window of when they would arrive, and they were right on time. They were neat, polite, and professional. Got it done in an hour, cleaned up, and left. Very impressive!

I checked Angie's list for a plumber and selected Pete the Plumber . I called and asked them to set a date for 2 weeks ahead because we were going to go on vacation. They agreed and said they would call me a day or so before to remind me and set a definite time. Very courteous on the phone. We had tried to repair outside faucet ourselves but found the parts were no longer sold locally.Pete did exactly as promised and called the day before to schedule the time. First thing the next morning he arrived with an assistant because the repair required two people due to our crawl space and the fact the repair was to an outside faucet.. The faucet and parts were replaced faster than I thought . We had an estimate before work began and the bill was even less than expected; Pete asked me if I had noticed the 25 dollar off coupon on his listing and I had so I dashed upstairs to the computer and printed it off. He than applied it to the bill so we were very happy to have such a professional experience. . My husband and I would definitely use his company again

Pete arrived promptly (as usual), carrying his booties and a large sheet to wipe his feet on to keep my house clean. His helper immediately began to clear the drain while I explained to him the problem with the tub. I wanted to replace the fixtures on the 12-year-old tub and was having a hard time finding parts. He asked me to get on the internet, show him what research I had already done and called Kohler (the manufacturer of the parts) to ask them what options we had to replace the fixtures. He then explained to me what they said, and gave me estimates as to the different options I had and what each would probably cost. Most impressive of all, in case I decided to replace the fixtures myself, he described how I would do it, in great detail.

He is always on time, communicates well, and cleans up after himself. I would definitely recommend him to others.

He advised us to take the parts from the home depot and so the price I had to pay was only $1000. He stands by his work. He does everything he says he would do. He is honest. He has good and creative ideas. I would use him in the future.

Responsive, informative, gives options (we had another issue with one toilet and he took time (this was around 6 p.m.) and assessed the issue. He gave an estimate and I called him today and told him that we desire him to do this work as well. Highly recommend him!!

We contacted Pete as our drains were slow, which sometimes is a result of tree roots growing in our sewer line, causing backups. Pete had to cut the clean out cap out of the outgoing sewer pipe in the basement, as it was too tight to remove(pvc). He had a new cap with him, which was good. He looked at the tree roots, which weren't bad enough to cause a backup at the time. (Though we knew they would grow in the spring & summer). His son was with him to assist, and they are both very nice. They tested the outgoing line thoroughly before they left to be sure we wouldn't back up. We appreciated Pete's honesty in telling us we didn't need to have the line cleaned out at this time, it saved us a lot money.

This is our second experience with Pete the plumber.We contacted Pete to try a product called Rootx that gets rid of tree roots growing in the sewer line (we've had to have the line cleaned out multiple times, which Pete can also do). Pete had never heard about the product, but was open minded about giving it a try. I ordered the product & we scheduled the time - he's prompt, and if something comes up, he's good about calling. He's polite and respectful, and focused on the problem at hand. He installed a pipe in our sewer stack for the application of the Rootx (inventive thinking on his part, as the product needs to be applied every so often). He then applied the product, which completed the session. He will come back in November to take a look to see if the product worked like it should. He was conscientious about filling out the warranty card for the product. I would absolutely trust him, and I think his prices are very fair. He's a smart guy, and will try to solve issues according to what the home owner is able to do.
