Pete the Plumber

Pete was great and very thorough and honest in giving me an estimate, but this was one of those jobs where there were too many unknowns - where exactly the leak in the water line was, where the power lines were. I ended up going with an excavator company who can drill below the power lines. Reason I am ranking Pete so high - I mentioned off-hand to him about a pipe leak in my kitchen sink, and he fixed it in 30 seconds, explaining what had happened, and never charged me. I am definitely going to use Pete for my next indoor pluming need. NOTE: This all happened in spring of 2013, but I was just reminded now to give a review, and wanted to thank Pete for his professionalism, punctuality, and helpfulness.

These plumbers are my guys; especially Dan & Tyler who have taken care of various jobs in a condo I recently purchased. They replaced a bathroom vanity top with fixture, new commode, serviced a recent leak, replaced a hot water tank, and changed some of the faucet style turnoffs into lever turnoffs....which are great. Now I can turn off the water to my unit when I will be gone for a while with no worry about any water mishaps. They also checked out two shower sprays replacing washers and installed a new one. All this work was not done in a couple visits but over the past few months and I was always confident of the work done and I always was glad to welcome them into my home. There is a price for good and professional work done by competent tradesmen and I would rather pay for that kind of service to have confidence in for months and years to come. It went okay. Took slightly longer than expected. The faucets were initially impossible to turn on or shut off; after a couple of weeks, called them back to loosen the faucets up enough to actually operate. They work fine now.

Pete was a real life saver because I had contacted three previous plumbers who could not repair the damaged pipe situation. He carefully researched all options before giving his diagnosis. He also went the extra mile to ensure that my bath commode would be repaired correctly and promptly. I am so elated that I contacted Pete for this task.

My original contact with Pete the Plumber, Inc. was through Angie's list. They quickly responded to my email and Pete contacted me to review the work needed and cost. He set up an appointed at that time. His professionalism was rewarding. At appointment time the plumbers (master and apprentice) arrived as scheduled, reviewed the work needed to be done, and explained the scope of the job. They worked uninterrupted and completed quickly. Since they charge at an hourly rate plus parts, I felt their time was not wasted. I was happy with all that they did and confident in their work.

Pete the Plumber said they would be out to our home to repair between 1 and 3 PM that day. At 4:22 PM, the plumber arrives. He takes a look at the area where the leak is and states it will take at least 1.5 hours to repair and says, "I'm not sure I want to get involved in this today." He goes outside to call "Pete" to discuss. The plumber returns to say that he cannot repair today because "the job is probably 3 hours." Instead of saying they could return tomorrow to repair, we are told they could come out Monday to repair the leak. The plumber suggests we find another plumber to repair the leak if we can't wait until Monday. Sadly, Pete the Plumber didn't even have the decency to call us to apologize or discuss the situation. He left the plumber to deliver the bad news. My wife gave him 30 minutes to call and he did not. When she called, he stated that we (the homeowner) should have known that this leak would have taken 3 hours to repair. Isn't that why you call the professional? To evaluate and make repairs. If I was a licensed plumber with the skills to evaluate and repair, I would have fixed it myself! In summary, they were very late and after waiting the entire day, tell us at 4:40 PM to find another plumber. Very unprofessional. I would not recommend to anyone. Do NOT use Pete the Plumber if you need any plumbing worked performed in a timely and professional manner.

They were very professional and courteous. Did a great job and worked quickly.

Very professional. Clean and punctual. Always friendly on the phone. Honestly, very thorough and could not ask for better service. 1- Called to let me know what time they were going to be there the morning of our service. 2- Planned the best route for the gas line even though we changed our plans. 3- Clean, courteous, and friendly. 4- Stayed to estimated range of cost. 5- Left no evidence that they were even there. Would definitely recommend them to anyone for future repairs/additions.

very well. They ran the new lines up from the basement rather than from the laundry room plumbing which will make it easier to install sink cabinet than I was expecting.

Pete the Plumber showed up on the day we agreed to do the job. The heavy equipment ( ditch digger ) was brought in and the yard where the leak was dug up and repaired the broken line. The new line was pressure check and things went well. The hole was refilled and the yard was put back to best of normal , but have a mound of dirt that needs to settle and we will re-seed the grass. They cover their shoes before they come in the house. They were professional. His prices were reasonable.

He was very good. I like him. He was very friendly, he was professional and he was very tidy. He was just a professional person and I like that because sometimes people are very friendly but they don't do a good job. For the price, I would say that he was reasonable. He's not the cheapest person about. He was prompt.

Replaced a water heater that was under warranty, so I only paid labor. Replaced heater with the wrong model. When Pete St.Jean(the owner) was he contacted he refunded the entire labor charge. I have a new water heater, of a little lesser quality than I originally had, but it cost me absolutely nothing. I am very pleased and will definitely use Pete the Plumber again.

Did an excellent job. Correctied the problem.

He came in a timely fashion and did the work. I give him high marks on all that but there were things that were not done well. I still had leaks. To be honest, I did not pursue them to come out and correct it again just because it was going into the holiday season and I had people coming right away then I forgot about it. It was my fault for not calling them back to check on the issue. I did not consider the price to be cheap nor expensively out of line either. I think they have a travel fee which I think travelling should be part of their job. The guys that came out, I like the older guy and he is definitely is a pro but his associate is still learning and that is my problem. The older guy did all the intricate work and all the extra work, he answered my questions. The younger guy was the one on the sink and was not as fast and efficient. They did the job in a reasonable time. They were clean. When I found out that the sink was still leaking and had some crinkles, I should have followed up but I did not which is my fault. I felt fine letting them through my door and I did not feel that I might be making a mistake.

We've used Pete the Plumber for two jobs - first was to replace noisy water heater that was working ok but 14 years old. Everything went very well and we're very happy with the installation and the new heater. Months later, we had a burst pipe due to the cold and they did another great job fixing it and making recommendations about how to prevent it happening again.

Pete was professional from the first call all the way through to the service call. He called back within 12 hours of the message I left. During our phone conversation, he explained very thoroughly what he recommended be done at my house. He scheduled a service call within a day from the call time, and he showed up very promptly. He left all work areas clean. I would not hesitate to use this provider in the future.

Excellent response. Call back within 45 mins. Dispatched within another 45 mins. Mark and Jim were professional, respectful of property and explained everything they were doing. Would use Pete the Plumber again.

The guys came out same day... did all the work that was required and suggested a couple improvements that frankly I am so happy that they pointed out (disasters avoided) Thank you Pete for you and your crews work.

Plumbers were professional, polite, honest and did the job perfectly. Scheduling was simple, they arrived on time and took care not to leave a mess. I would highly recommend Pete The Plumber to my friends.
