I have used this company 3 to 4 times in the past and always been very pleased. I think that my move from one house to a smaller house in May 2020 was simply too much for them. Because of their prior good performance, I trusted them to move and store a piano and it was damaged. I am missing items. They over-wrapped simple things like ceramic coasters that took an inordinate amount of time to unwrap. An item was broken during delivery. They were very courteous, punctual & even jovial. After they left, and the more I have discovered as I have unpacked, the more disappointed I am. I will not use them again and I do not recommend them at this time.

We were not pleased. We paid for 4 men. Out of the 4 men, one was older and out of shape. The other was a minor. It was a 16 year old. The move ended up taking 15 hours. They were at house until after midnight. It was almost $3000. We still didn't even had them put our bed and things together. I felt that it was inappropriate for them to send us a minor and that he was not doing the work of a man and he did a couple of stupid things. He placed one thing vertically when it should've been placed horizontally. It fell and left about a 3-foot gouge in our wood floors which were perfect before that. Just a few little things like that. It wasn't worth like complaining to the company about it but I would never ever recommend them again. There were two movers that we saw constantly, like the two somethings and probably about 10 o'clock that night I was convinced the 16-year-old was sleeping someplace in our house cause I wasn't even seeing him. I felt a little ripped off. This is actually the second time we used them. The first time they were phenomenal. that was about 6 years ago. After this experience, I would never use them again. The older guy, they only wrapped once piece of furniture in syran wrap so we have one armchair that has like dirt spots on it and another armchair, the guy carried it on his head. Like he put the feet on his head and the back of the chair was down his back. He was shirtless and sweaty and he got sweat marks on a very expensive chair. We were not pleased. The person in the office was very helpful. They were late. They didn't do the job in a timely fashion cause they didn't send 4 people capable of doing the job.

Talked by phone with the front office, and never once was told $306 minimum. Lots of talk about $102 show up charge and $102 an hour charge and 2 hour minimum. Led me to believe the $102 show up was also the first hour. They could easily state - IT IS A $306 MINIMUM, now that would be important communication, but never was stated. My job took 1 hour and 15 minutes. They showed up at 9:15 and headed out at 10:30. Paid my $306 bill, just don't like feeling the upfront agreement was a shell game. The movers were fine, not outstanding, but fine. Make sure you are clear on all the charges and ask what the minimum will be if you have a small, small job like mine.

I found them on Angie's list and a friend recommended them as a affordable reliable company to use for a local move. The movers arrived early and quickly got started. They were fast, efficient and professional. They had us moved out and in to the new house in less than 4 hours. No damage to any of our property and they were willing to put anything anywhere we wanted. They also covered our carpets in plastic to protect them from dirt and damage.

They arrived on time. All seemed to go well at first. I walked them through everything that they were to move. Mostly having them move big boxes and all my furniture and spa. They saw the spa immediately and did not express any concerns. Dan at Kendricks assured me on 4 different phone calls this would not be an issue. I had told him it was a 8and quot; X 8and quot; x 5' Cal spa. They intended to move everything and then come back to get the spa on the last trip. When they went to move the tub they had difficult. When you drain a hot tub, it is normal to have water in it that does not come out until you tip it on it's side. This was confirmed from Watson, the spa dealer I purposed it through. So they did tip it and a bunch of water come out. They didn't know how to move the tub off my cement slab at the back of my house to the truck in the front. They decided that they needed more guys to help and would come back on Sunday around noon. Sunday at noon they did not show up. I tried calling the lead guys cell phone and texting. Finally a couple hours later he responded that he was sleeping and that they is no way he can move the tub safely. He put me in a bad situation because I had closed on my house and needed to be out of my house that day at 5pm. He got rude and obnoxious on text. Calling me nasty names and swearing. I tried to call the owners of the company but they did not respond. They told me that no way they can move a hot tub of my size. He also told me he lived 45 minutes away and wasn't coming back. Excuse me????? I asked 4 different occasions and was told a solid yes each time but needed 4 guys. They lead was unprofessional. He said it was necessary to yell at his guys and swear constantly for their safety. This was all done in front of my child. I had a gut feeling that they had no intentions of coming back because the Bengals game was that afternoon and they talked about watching it. They make promises they don't keep. The management is just as bad. She supported her team. There was no apologies for the poor service and they did not credit me the cost to run back and the hour + of wasted time as they stood by the spa and questioned what to do. I would never recommend them and I would never use them again. I am in the process of moving to a new purchased house. I am a logistics manager at a large company. I have opportunities for transportation companies all over the US as well as local. I could have used them for large business agreements. I will not use them for that nor my personal residential moving. I have also told numerous relators so to warn all I can.

Wonderful. I was very pleased. It took about 4-5 hours. I kept telling the men to take a 5-10 minute break but they said they did not need one and just kept on going. They had me check the house and make sure everything was out. At the new house, everything was like clockwork. The boxes were labled and the men just put them in the right rooms, garage or basement.

I ended up having to reschedule my move multiple times (due to my own conflicts!) and the scheduler was overly courteous and helpful in getting me what I needed. I also had to change the details of the number of movers and truck size at the very last minute and they took it all in stride and made it happen! On the day of the move, the moving team was prompt, friendly and appropriate. They had us give them the lay out of what was moving and what was staying; and they followed our directives through to the letter! My husband and I have been moved mulitple times for work and have a vast body of comparison for this move; we LOVED this company! They were far and above better than any we have used (or been assigned to use) in the past 11 years of moving. Our furniture was huge and boxes were numerous and heavy, but they cranked through it without a hiccup. Any issues they came across were immediately pointed out to us and ammended on the spot. Every worker on the team was personable and extremely hard working for the full time we had them. I do not ever want to move again, but I would use them in a heartbeat, as they made the entire process virtually painless.

The entire process was great. We received a quote before the move that was for more than we actually ended up spending. We spoke to Dan in the office on several occasions beforehand, and he was very helpful and responsive. The four member crew who came out on moving day was outstanding - professional, friendly, upbeat, and careful with our things. For example, they spotted a knick on one of our chairs (not caused by them) and set it aside to show me before they would load it on the truck. We paid $130 per hour for 4 men, plus a $90 transportation/fuel fee. I was impressed that the entire process lasted only five hours considering we have a four bedroom house. I will be highly recommending Kendrick to my family and friends in the future.

First off complaining and rude because I had open boxes, which I had mentioned to the owner when I called to set up the move and she assured me it was ok. One of the fellows was very rude but later appologized. Also, I had left clothes. etc in drawers and they did not plastic wrap the drawers, saying they did not do that. Everyone else does do that... It took way longer to do the job then had been estimated. Upon arrival at the new address, items marked were just stacked at random into the garage, with closed boxes stacked on top of open boxes containing small appliances, etc. It was not a good experience for me...someone else might not have minded. Being a senior citizen, I guess I expected better.

This company came very highly recommended to me. Let me relay some of my experience. The movers did not put onto the truck everything that I owned. I specifically indicated some outdoor items I wanted moved. At the time I was told there was no problem. Yet these items never made it to my new residence. There were additional items left behind. It was explained to me that the items left were broken and the movers decided to leave them. It took me an additional 6 days to retrieve the left behind items. By the way these items were in fine shape. I paid for the movers to have cigarette breaks and riding the dollies. When I called to schedule my move, I was told a certain amount and time. When the job was done, the price was double the estimate. I asked why, the response was it took longer and then the head mover laughed in my face. He asked where did I get that estimate, I indicated that the woman on the phone gave me the estimate. His response was that she does not know what she's doing. She is so X#X######Xxx lady and proceeds to laugh in my face. I had friends with me who add further unacceptable details. I paid the bill only because I wanted them out of my house. I called at least twice, I was told the owner would get back to me. I'm still waiting. Kathy

We are sorry you feel you did not receive a good move. However, when you scheduled you specifically told us you had the following: a bookcase, a dresser, Queen bed set, loveseat, chair, tv stand, wooden file cabinet, some items in basement, and around 50 boxes upstairs. We recommended 4 men and you did not want to pay the extra $18.00 an hour for the 4th man. Thus, fewer men, longer time to move, especially when the customer is not ready to move when we arrive. When we arrived, there were items we are not allowed to load into our truck unless they are packed: Flat screen tvs, small glass breakables, dishes, small breakable decor items. Also, customer had over 100 boxes and was not prepared for any moving company to move her that day. Our men explained to this customer what we could and could not take and gave her the option of packing them while we were loading other items.The entire move cost $930.00 and took 7 1/4 hour. This however, is the first time we have heard of this complaint and it has been 4 months. If customer was that dissatisfied, we do wish we would have been contacted earlier.

First off, these movers are among the top ones in Cincinnati and helped me with specialty moves. I will say that. They can do moves that others cannot. They were very generous with their time, arriving early in both moves, and were very courteous. They were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about what to do. They were so flexible in terms of scheduling that they worked around my schedule and UPS Freight's schedule. My experience with this company was mostly positive. Second, however, I do want to share two important things however. And this is only from my viewpoint. This is where there may be disagreement in relation to what the company interpreted and what I did. After the first move, I was missing a sword and I have no definitive proof of singling out a single person for it nor making any claim about it one way or the other. It was present before the move and I can say that it was not present after it. From the second move, I also am missing $70 worth of Subway, Starbuck's, McDonald's, and other giftcards that I had next to my Christmas cards, positioned the night before the move to the right of my cards on my home office table for the second move. It was shocking to me that after the move, I noticed that they were gone. I had never mentioned anything about the sword from the first move until after this situation. I even questioned myself, many times. I cannot make a causal statement, nor will I do anything to say anything about the integrity of the movers nor company. I spoke to my father and was very careful about how I approached the company about this. I was told that the movers would submit to special lie detection tests and I appreciate that. The reputation of the company is important and the owner works hard to make sure everything is done right. Also, in this economy, and I had mentioned this to the wife of the owner, team work is important and everyone should stay fully-employed. I am not singling out a person nor questioning the integrity of any one individual. I am not trying to have anyone go through any tests, but I just know that I am out $200 in terms of cards ($70) and the value of the sword ($129.99). Since no one can claim responsibility, I am without reimbursement for those items. I paid the movers in full at the end of the move and they were excellent about keeping a detailed time log and I tipped them very well. First move- roughly $500 and second move- roughly $400. The one thing you might want to make sure of is that you are with the movers at all times (especially for 3-4 movers). What I mean by that is you can provide direction and make sure everyone is working as they should. I actually had done that but did not have all 3-4 movers in my sight at one time. It also becomes hard to assume anything if everyone has been in plain sight. The owner discussed this with me as well. Still, I am the trusting type and didn't feel that I had to. I understand that, in many ways, I created the situations I experienced. I am aware of that. I accept responsibility. How can you prevent any issue from being a possibility? I can tell you that the movers were working hard. I do think we create many of our situations and experiences. I am just sharing what I experienced. Third, I do want to point out, that the attitude of the movers, owners, and receptionist is amazing and thought long and hard about writing this review. I promised that I would post a mostly positive review. Though I want to keep this review mostly positive, I felt that I need to write about my experiences. I had not read prior reviews prior to using them, and it was based on their willingness to go the extra mile that I chose them. Even with all of this, I was able to have a constructive dialogue with the owner, his wife, and the receptionist. The movers were very responsive and the matter was discussed. An additional matter was discussed, too, with respect to pictures being taken of one item as a remembrance with a couple of the movers, and I understand that. For security reasons, though, it is important to keep any such pics private. You would not want anything of yours advertised on social media, for example. They understand that. Fourth, damage-There was damage, yes. This was immediately taken care of and the furniture medic came out and he did a great job. It was to the top of my sofa. I alerted the movers to it. They had a really good team come out and they took care of it, instantly. Also, there were also two spots (one on the wall and one on the door frame) which resulted from the move of the furniture into the home office. I did notify the wife of the owner, after the move. Those have not been taken care of, unfortunately, though I have requested it. I do want to say that damage is to be expected no matter who you use. Speaking of damage, the movers actually NOTICED damage. I can tell you that these movers spotted damage by UPS freight for one of my items and had my best interests in mind. They were really, really good about that. Had it not been for them, it would have been even more of a hassle. Again, for specialty moves, you would want to use these guys, especially, in my experience. Fifth, again, overall, the feedback is very positive. You can still have a positive experience with these guys. I am giving them a very high grade - a C. I am giving you my complete experience and just wanted you to know that the owners, receptionist, and movers, otherwise, are excellent. They even were willing to help me with the subsequent move which I have coming up, and were accommodating in all cases. I think based on my experiences, however, I would have to think carefully about using them again. There are the matters I found important, the dent in the wall, in the doorframe, etc. that I addressed with the owner's wife. Those were heard, but not fully-addressed, though I was told they would be. It took a lot of time and energy establishing contact, getting a call back, etc. I do realize that with vacations, schedules, etc, i may have been harder. I felt that the situation could have been a bit different. Based on the handling of it, I would have to rethink a future time where I would use them. I had given them a gift after the first move, tipped the movers in both moves and have only good feelings for them despite what I feel my experience was as described above. I would give them a chance. Now, you know my story.

The company had three employees move us. One of those employees stole jewelry. My wife called 60 or more and quot;We buy gold placesand quot; and found where their employee Chris sold one of her pieces. They copied his drivers license, so there was no denying he stole from us.

The entire moving experience was the worst I have ever had with a moving company. Previously in the week questioned Jim on the over use of the dish barrels which are their costliest items at $25 a box as opposed to $17 for medium sized boxes. I further explain my frustration that the packers not only used dish barrels for metal art and items that would have been fine in a regular sized boxes. Jim told me that he would contact an independent furniture restoration tech and also at that time was willing to discuss refunding some of the money as a way of compensation. I also discussed with Jim the packing of the boxes made it very difficult to determine which room the boxes should have been taken to as several boxes had kitchen, dining room, basement and bedroom items packed in the same boxes. This further added to the time the movers were here as we had to stop and determine where the boxes were meant to go. in our unpacking of our fine china we found two plates that were chipped. This china is over 50 years old and has been moved several times before with no damage. As we continue to unpack items, we are finding even more damage to our belongings. I called Kendrick moving to discuss the situation, I explained to Chris that were very upset about this damage, coupled with the damage that had occurred with our solid cherry king size bed frame. After waiting for a few mins I was put on the phone with Jim, the owner of the company, immediately he was very adversarial and told me that since I did not arrange to have glass packers to do the packing that the damage falls on me. He wouldn’t even discuss the issue and hung up on me even before I was able to address my concerns. I called back and talked Kris and told her my concerns of the furniture, the glass damage and that it was very unprofessional for the owner of the company to hang up on a client. So far we have found several more items damaged including one of a kind pottery items, the heirloom china, and the bed frame, glass picture frames, other assorted items. She first said that I should have told them that we had glass to pack when I made the arrangements as she is the one that would have packed the glass. We had already packed the dishes and glasses before they arrived. I had requested the packers that were here to take extra care with packing the china. I further told her that it was incumbent upon the representatives of the moving company to refuse to pack the china and to inform me to make other arrangements to packing the china. This would have been completely understandable and I could have worked with them regarding this issue. In her defense of the packers she stated later in the conversation that she has trained all the packers on the correct way to pack glass. Which I imagine was the reason they felt comfortable in taking the responsibility of packing the glass items. The fact that the owner was immediately on the defensive and refused to resolve the matter I told Kris that I would wait for the rest of the day until I would take further action providing that Jim call and offer a resolution.

This customer called our office and scheduled a move and packing of some rooms, but absolutely no kitchen and no glass. He and his wife were packing all dishes/glass. Our men showed up, they did not have all the kitchen/glass packed, the house was in disarray, they were not even ready to move. Our men explained they will do the best they can with the situation and pack what they can with the supplies they had (we took the supplies for what we were scheduled to pack) Furthermore, if we were properly informed from our customer we would have sent proper personnel that deals with nothing but glass. Knowing this the customer said he understood and would like them to pack what they can. My men also pointed out to him some damages they seen on his furniture/appliances before we started loading, as we do so they are made aware of it before we touch it. He stated that he moved some stuff in his truck last time and it happened then. At the end of the job, with EVERYTHING UNLOADED, he was pleased, no damages were reported. He even tipped our men stating they did a great job. The next day Member called belligerent, screaming over the phone that he had a head board scratched and chipped dishes. We apologized and tried to talk with him so we could fix the problem. There was no degree of civility.He then spoke with the owner, who tried once again resolving this matter. There was nothing we could say or do to appease this customer. He called back demanding the headboard be fixed, we called our furniture repair man, who called him that very next day and Member stated he had it taken care of and was not interested in him coming out. That is the last we heard. We have been in business since 1953, if we conducted our business as this customer has stated, we would not have been in business for 60 years and still going strong. Again, we are sorry that you had a bad experience this time, since all of your other moves with us have been great. We are willing to send out our repairman.

We called ahead and they came out for an estimate. They arrived at the appointed time and had us out of our apartment and packed before noon. There was nothing broken and they were very courteous and professional. We were a little surprised by the suggestion that a tip would be appreciated but we were glad to oblige as they worked very hard to make our experience painless.
Description of Work: Kendrick moving gave us excellent service at a fair price. WE would not hesitate to recommend them. We moved from an apartment to a condo. They did not pack us but helped to disassemble some items.

The move went without any flaws!!! Great service!
Description of Work: This company was great from beginning to end. We have moved 14 times and we rank Kedrick at the top of the list. The estimated quote was accurate, (no surprised) the packing crew careful and neat, the loading crew had to work in the rain and took every precaution to protect both the home we were vacating plus our possessions. When they arrived in Michigan for the unlaod, it was handled flawlessly. We were happy with every aspect of our move! Thanks Jim Kendrick and company! You are the best!!!

It was a small move. The guys that were supposed to do it were delay on another job. I waited about one hour and called and they sent someone else. They did a terrific job. They moved furniture around in my house to make room for the other furniture. I thought it was a fair price. I paid a minimum price for time. When I did have the glitch with them they did everything they could to work it out.
Description of Work: I used J Herschell Kendrick Moving for moving services. They moved two beds, a dresser, some lamps and tables moved from an assisted living facility to my house.

Best move and mover I have ever experienced. We had a very bad previous move and it was important that the person who packed us also deliver to us. Jim Kendrick the company owner not only worked with his crew to pack us, he worked with them to load us, then drove the truck to Ashevlle and was part of the crew that unloaded the truck. He never acted superior to his workers, he clearly respected their work and is everything I think a good boss is. He took incredible care in packing and loading us and kept saying that he didn't care how long it took to do-it would be done right. And it was- nothing broken, everything done right. And everyone of his crew was just as careful and caring as Jim.
Description of Work: They packed and moved us from Cincinnati to Asheville. Price included crating and uncrating art and antiques that were important to us.

Very professional, fast, curtious and hard working. They were very polite and didn't waste any time getting the truck loaded and unloaded. They actually made moving day enjoyable.
