From start to finish they exceeded my expectations. They were helpful in picking out pavers, the landscape design was by far the best. They really listened to what we wanted.
Description of Work: This was an amazing company. They were extremely professional, they came in under budget and ahead of schedule. The crew was polite and friendly and the job they did was outstanding. I would recommend them!!!! Outstanding work and service!

Steve was professional, friendly, and very easy to work with. It was evident from day one his goal was only to make us happy. I am sure he's done many, many jobs much more expensive than ours, but I never felt any less important.
Description of Work: We had an old brick paver patio that transitioned into a gravel path. The old pavers were settled and uneven. The steps were crumbling and the gravel was messy. I wanted to replace/refresh it, but blend it into some existing stonework that we loved and wanted to preserve. Steve Creech personally worked with us and helped us design exactly what we wanted, while remaining strictly to the limits of our budget. He made numerous suggestions and allowed us to come to his garden center to pick out the exact pavers and stone that would be used. There were no surprises and we felt confident allowing them to complete the job while we were out of the country. It's gorgeous and exceeded our expectations. It was great to come home to such a beautiful job.

Creech's responded with with items that are not FACT! Creech's state in their response: 1. We had initially been contacted by the said customer in September of 2011 for an irrigation system. At the time the customer had expressed he needed additional work completed for a new lawn. The customer did not at that time go forward with every item on the proposal, as cost was a major issue. My original contact with Creech's was for both lawn renovation AND installing an irrigation system. Copies of quotes are shown below. I did contract for EVERY item proposed! 2 The lawn Maintenance Manager had informed the customer it may take up to 2-3 years to establish a lawn correctly. I was NEVER told that until we were in court! 3. The customer again contacted Creech?s in Early April that he was very pleased with his lawn; it was indeed very green, lush and could not be more pleased with the results. I told them the lawn was looking decent. I NEVER said "it was indeed very green, lush and could not be more pleased with the results." This is unbelievable! They are making statements that I NEVER said! 4. The FACT is I did go ahead with EVERY item on the original proposal. It wasn't until Creech's start the work in my yard that they said that additional (very expensive) work should really be done. (Their original proposal was around $3,500.00 for lawn renovation.) Once the work was started they told me that my yard should be "bulldozed" at a cost of around $20,000.00. (Bait and Switch) 5. The Lawn Maintenance manager and the owner of Creech?s Lawn & Landscape had inspected the lawn to address all issues. From their observations, it appeared that the owner had failed to properly maintain the yard. . The grass had turned brown and was a direct result of not watering the lawn often enough. It was recommended that the customer increase the watering from 2 times a week to 4 times a week. The weather played an important role in this determination. This is an outright lie! I wrote a letter to Creech's stating that I was watering 3 to 4 times per week. (In fall of 2012 I got new quotes to completely redo the work that Creech's had done in the first place. One of the companies, who happens to grow the sod for the Cincinnati reds stadium actually told me that it appeared the lawn was OVER watered and that probably killed some of my lawn.) Now...my original review: It did not go well with Creech's. I feel they had good intentions but the end result was a very dissatisfied customer that will recommend that people STAY AWAY from Creech's. They did do a fine job with the irrigation system but I certainly would not recommend them for landscape work even though they came back numerous times to try and resolve the issues. The end result was a lousy job and a dead lawn that is being completely renovated AGAIN in 2013 just a year and a half after the initial work was done. I did take them to small claims court where I lost my case. I feel the case was lost because they had a lawyer representing them AND half of my evidence was not able to be presented. (My computer broke in the courtroom. I was going to show a video of the results of their work. Also, because I have never been through a trial process, I was probably not as prepared as I could have been, nor did I anticipate what their attorney was going to present.) Creech's lawyer's presentation mainly was based on the following: 1. There was no implied warranty of their work. (There is no statement of warranty on any of their documents. HOWEVER, the front page of their web site (currently) states "When it comes to your property - "We don't leave it until you love it!"" That is a direct quote! (It did not occur to me to present this to the court at the time of trial...my fault.) 2. We had a very hot and dry six week period in early summer of 2012. That was true...and they blamed me for cutting the grass too short and not watering the lawn enough. Two things that I did not present in my court case: a. Their testimony stated that during this hot and dry period that the grass should not have been cut lower than 4 inches. I was cutting at 2.5 to 3 inches. ( I did not present the document http://ohioline.osu.edu/hyg-fact/4000/4029.html.That web page presented by the Horticulture and Crop Science department at Ohio State University states minimum length to cut is 2.5 to 3 inches during periods of heat and drought.) b. Creech's installed a complete irrigation system. I was watering the lawn a minimum of 3 to 4 times per week, twice per day. My water bill during the two periods from April through June and July through September 2012 totaled $1018.00 (Average of $509.00 per billing period.) The average water bill over the past 3 years for my home is $307.00 per period, including the April through September 2012 period. In other words, it cost about 65% more to water during that hot and dry period. Creech's claimed I was under-watering the lawn during that period. Creech's was hired to renovate my lawn. When they first came out to quote the work, I pointed out that I had many rocks in my lawn. Part of the renovation included removing the rocks from my yard. However, once the grass started dying, I discovered there were many large rocks that were not removed before planting new grass. (One of the rocks was over 5 feet in diameter that was as little as 3 inches from the surface.) The bottom line is, I paid Creech's around $4,000.00 to renovate my lawn. A year after that work was done, the lawn needs to be renovated again. During negotiations with Creech's, after the lawsuit was filed, they offered to refund about a third of what I paid them for the lawn renovation. While I would not accept their offer, I did ask them if they wanted to re-do the work that they had done previously. (I even offered to pay an additional $2,000 worth of top soil to be brought in, which is something that, in retrospect, should have been done in the first place.) They turned down my offer and said they would see me in court. Yes...they won in court, but they sure didn't win me over with their work

Response from Creech's Lawn & Landscaping
In response to the recent review dated 3-28-2013 on Angie’s List, Creech’s Lawn & Landscape responds as follows: We had initially been contacted by the said customer in September of 2011 for an irrigation system. At the time the customer had expressed he needed additional work completed for a new lawn. Our Lawn Maintenance Manager met with the customer and went over a proposal on what was needed for the lawn to make it look “Lush & Green” The lawn Maintenance Manager had informed the customer it may take up to 2-3 years to establish a lawn correctly. The customer did not at that time go forward with every item on the proposal, as cost was a major issue. The customer decided to move forward on the rock hounding, top dressing topsoil in low lying areas to make the yard level, apply seed/ straw and finish with a broad based fertilizer. The work was completed October of 2011. Our policy on payments has always been 50% down payment with the balance due when the customer was satisfied with the work that was completed. The customer in this case had indicated he would not make full payment and was holding back 15% of the balance due till the spring of 2012. His reasoning at the time was he wanted to make sure he got that lush green lawn he asked for. In early March of 2012 the customer contacted Creech’s Lawn Maintenance manger that a few areas were needed to be touched up on seeding. Creech’s had a crew re-seed those areas, laid down straw and informed the customer to make sure to apply adequate moisture to promote growth. At that time, another fertilizer treatment was applied to the entire lawn as well. The customer again contacted Creech’s in Early April that he was very pleased with his lawn; it was indeed very green, lush and could not be more pleased with the results. The customer made full payment to Creech’s Lawn and Landscape. In May of 2012, we had experienced high temperatures, record breaking in fact for that time of year. We were contacted by this customer about his lawn not looking so green and lush and areas had indeed turned brown. The Lawn Maintenance manager and the owner of Creech’s Lawn & Landscape had inspected the lawn to address all issues. From their observations, it appeared that the owner had failed to properly maintain the yard. . The grass had turned brown and was a direct result of not watering the lawn often enough. It was recommended that the customer increase the watering from 2 times a week to 4 times a week. The weather played an important role in this determination. As the summer progressed, the customer was not satisfied with his lawn and Creech’s on several occasions reseeded at its expense the bare areas of this customer’s lawn. With each reseeding the customer was informed to apply water to those areas to promote growth of the grass seed. In August of 2012 the customer had written a letter to express his dissatisfaction about the entire lawn and asked to be reimbursed for the amount of money that was paid to Creech’s for the install of the entire yard. The customer had contacted the better business bureau and had lodged a complaint against Creech’s Lawn & Landscape. We worked with the Better Business Bureau and the customer to try and come to a solution to the problem. The Better Business Bureau had felt Creech’s had done everything possible to rectify this problem and found no fault in our actions and had closed the case. The customer decided to take further action and filed a complaint in small claims court seeking refund of entire yard expense he had paid to Creech’s. Creech’s in good faith had offered to refund a portion of the amount requested, but the offer was rejected by the customer. Recently it was determined by a Judge in a court of Law, that the customer had not proven that Creech’s Lawn & Landscape was at fault. The Claim was decided in Creech’s Lawn & Landscape’s favor. Creech’s has always put our customer’s satisfaction first and we had done in this instance everything possible to alleviate any and all issues. We often, at our own expense try to make things right and go above and beyond to make sure that customer is treated fairly and with respect. It is not just about having a customer; it’s about making a friend for life. It is our sincerest hope that everyone that posts a review to Creech’s Lawn & Landscapes’ profile always gives us a fair and truthfully account. In closing this response, even though we have experienced this negative review from this customer, we feel we have in good conscience done everything possible to make that customer 100% satisfied.

I have used Creech before for other yard work, but they go that extra mile when they work and the difference is great. They are prompt, courteous, diligent, hardworking and always clean up afterward. They come en masse with all hands hard at it. Closely watched by the crew supervisor, the efficiency is impressive. They note and offer advice on items I hadn't previously realized, with suggestions for improvement without ever being pushy salesmen. I am very happy with their work and recommend them to everyone I know. Call them, you will be happy with the results.

At first I thought the owner's demeanor was a bit stand offish, but after working with him through out the project and subsequent routine maintenance calls I realized that's just his normal personality. He's been in the business for many years and his experience definitely shows.
Description of Work: We had a sprinkler system installed in our front and back yard as well as the flower beds. They did a great job installing the sprinkler system especially since we have so many trees/tree roots. They explained how to work the controls and alter the water times/amounts to our needs.

Everyone we have worked with is extremely professional. They provided the design and recommended the colors and materials. I cannot say enough good things about Creech's. When we had issues with the water feature they immediately looked into it and had it corrected. They are all about quality and stand behind their work. We are now using them for finishing our basement floor with Naturestone. There are other companies that may be slightly less expensive but they may not use as high quality materials and stand behind their work. I would recommend them to anyone! I am a raving fan!!!
Description of Work: We had an old badly deteriorated deck and shed removed, a new composite deck added with a paver patio underneath. They also repaired an adjacent solarium and added siding. A new shed was built in a different area. We added a small water feature beside the patio. They trimmed trees, added plantings, mulch, and rocks.

I easily scheduled an appointment for an estimate with Steve Creech. He reviewed our needs and within a couple of days sent an electronic rendering of the "remodeled yard" including the new wall, walkway and plantings. The electronic drawing was extremely helpful in visualizing the final product. The job was more expensive than I expected. Even though pricey, the bid from Creech was more affordable than competition and the final product delivered more than the competition offered. They began the work when they said they would; job completion was timely; workers were courteous and professional. The final product is beautiful!

We needed a total rework of our 12 year old front landscape. The request was for low maintenance, colorful plants. Creech's had the best creative design at a very competitive price. We are very pleased with the result.
Description of Work: Curt took photos of the house with the existing trees/plants then gave us excellent modified photos showing the proposed changes. We moved/changed a few plants and got the installation date. The crew was on time and did the whole job in one day. This project actually turned out better than we expected.

Intitially, service was great. Steve Creech came out and surveyed the situation and spent time with us. The installers were friendly and seemed to take enough time. However, his initial estimate was short - we needed more bushes than he said we needed, so we had to spend more money. Service after the sale is not good! Some of the bushes were not installed correctly, and actually fell over! Took the installers a few days to come back out and re plant them. Then another time, they got crooked. Took a few more days before they got out to steak them. 4 of our bushes have died. I left Creech messages on his cellphone and at the office. It took him a week to call me back. Says he can't replace them for a month. Seems like this company is really good before you give them your money. Afterwards is a different situation.
Description of Work: We needed a wall of 6 to 7 foot arborvita bushes on the edge of our property. Creech's was hired to provide, deliver and install same.

Response from Creech's Lawn & Landscaping
We are shocked to get this report! Creech's strives to go above and beyond to deliver quality work and excellent Customer Service. Initially meeting with the customer, the customer indicated that even spacing was needed to give a uniform look. The plant count was determined from this even spacing. When at the time of install however, the Customer changed their minds and requested the Arborvitae be planted closer together, which resulted in more Shrubs being needed than originally estimated. The shrubs were installed at the end of April to 2nd week of May 2012 and customer seemed to be happy with the results of the shrubs being installed. When June approached we had unusual high heat weather that lasted well into 2nd week of August. Creech's had received a call from the customer , that as a result of serve thunderstorms that had hit the area , Resulting in heavy winds and it knocked out the power to a lot of homes a few of the Arborvitae had been knocked over from this high wind. Creech's had a crew go back out - Free of Charge to customer and replant and stake these arborvitae that had blown over from the high winds and weather. We also had received a call from the customer August 17th requesting to have some shrubs replaced as they had died. The size of the Arborvitae were in the 6-7' range and at the time our local grower did not have these in stock ready to be installed. We made contact telling first available we would replace the shrubs free of charge (as we offer a 1 year , 1 time replacement of Trees and shrubs) and these fell under the warranty. We have replaced the shrubs when they became available and the weather cooled considerably. ( September 2012) In closing this response we strive for our customer satisfaction and the quality of our work. We stand behind our word and at times go well beyond our duty (sometimes at our expense) to make sure that customer is happy with the end result.

I am really pleased that the irrigation system is top- notch. The control system in the garage is easy to use. If I want to change the day, or time of day the sprinklers to go on and off, I can easily do that. I appreciated that they recommended a cheaper material for our lawn, instead of using sod. They did a really good job leveling the lawn. They placed the sprinklers well, so that all the important areas are getting watered well. They have always been available if we had any questions. They have been very nice, and returned my calls promptly.
Description of Work: We had our sprinklers set up to go on every other morning by Creech’s Lawn & Landscaping.

The second crew sweated through the hottest 10 days of the year (and through a storm); we had not given them a deadline of any kind. They were professional in all aspects. Because I intend to garden the land up on the hill, I asked for some steps over the wall. Mr Creech did not charge me for this, and the crew built such substantial steps that I use them as a place to sit and enjoy the evening. The wall they built looks so wonderful, we're saving for more hardscaping from this company.
Description of Work: We needed a 100' timber retaining wall replaced. Creech's estimate was exactly the same as a competitor's; we chose him because we liked all the photos on his website. He called 2 weeks before we were scheduled for construction and asked if his crews could get started, which was great for us. The first crew removed the first wall and when we asked if they could remove a dozen 30 year old shrubs from the front of the house and back area, Mr Creech and they worked to make it happen for us (for an additional fee). I was sure I'd lose all the perennials that were in front of the shrubs, but Mike went in from the side and left all my other plantings.

I liked Carl from the start. He was very friendly and knowledgable. He gave me the estimate on the spot. The price was reasonable and I felt confident the job would be done correctly. Overall I rated this experience an A. The B ratings were because my job got put off twice for reasons out of control of Carl. However, I did not receive notification from him in a timely manner. I realize these are probably 2 flukes and would surely call him again.

22Very well! Steve Creech came and looked at our space and discussed our options for the space incorporating what we told him we wanted. About 1 week later, he sent us a detailed description with pricing and computer images of 2 options for our space/project.. We made some adjustments, selected the pavers and scheduled the project for the end of May. I called Steve around the second week of May to ask if he could complete the project sooner and he was able to accommodate us. The project was started on May 22nd and completed by May 25th.
Description of Work: Creech's Landscaping installed a paver patio, fire pit and landscaping in our backyard. They were prompt, professional and courteous. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy and even completed the project earlier than expected at our request. The quality was impeccable and we couldn't be happier. I would recommend them without hesitation!

Showed up on promised date and finished in very good time. substrate foundation was as promised and brick pattern was as quoted. workers filled in around patio with fill dirt and actually made a flagstone walkway that was larger than we expected. stone was inlaid into the grass and secured. retention border was applied around the patio and sand brushed between pavers. the bricks are stable and look very attractive.Steve was very good at recomending the right brick and pattern.
Description of Work: Installed brick paver patio. Very good quote and work performed was on time and as promised. The quality of wormanship was excellent and the workers were careful not to disturb any other landscaping. They cleaned up well and did more than was requested for the job. I highly recommend their services and would certainly use them again.

We had checked other places and their pricing was very good. They were very neat. They cleaned up everything very nicely when they were done with all the work. The work was of top quality. They were here on time; when they said they were going to be here. They were helpful in helping us decided which type of patio; whether we wanted a full concrete or the one that they put the individual stones in. They were helpful in that regard. I am going to call them for an estimate on spring landscaping and yard clean up, because they do that as well. I am very happy with them.
Description of Work: I had them put in a patio and do some landscaping for me.

Curt Booher (landscape) and Bill Breeden(irrigation system) came out, and took pictures and made detailed notes about our wants and requirements. Once we agreed on the design and set a date to start, they showed up promptly. Curt, Bill and the entire staff worked very hard (even in some bad weather). The work began and was complete within 2 weeks. If there was anything that needed to be changed, they did so promptly. They were extremely professional and very courteous and nice. We looked forward to coming home every day just to see the transformation. I told Curt to make my yard look beautiful and he did just that. Bill and his crew did a great job of installing the irrigation system - you cannot really see where they disturbed the sod to install the pipes, etc. I have never worked with a more professional group. They were always polite, and cleaned up each day before leaving. When finished, they did a final clean-up. I would highly recommend them and would use them again anytime. They were not the cheapest, but I feel I got my money worth. They made my yard look better than I could have ever dreamed.
Description of Work: I only had landscaping in front of the house, and it was old and much of it was dying or ugly. Curt Booher at Creech's came out and designed a beautiful landscape for the front, sides, and back. He included a design that turned a formerly unusable wooded area into a park-like setting in the back yard, and also included a beautiful water feature next to our four season room. They removed much of the old landscaping and installed everything according to the design they had submitted. They also built a small paver landing at the bottom of the deck steps, and installed a small stone wall next to the house to allow a "tiering" effect (our yard slope in the back). In addition, in the wooded area, they put river rock in a very wet problem area, created something that resembled a small creek bed, and used some large flagstones to create a little stone bridge across the "creek bed". There are small paths winding around the back yard area and a place for a bench. In this area, there are several flowering bushes and perrenials. The landscaping all around the house, and in the front yard includes several varieties of bushes, perrenials and 4 spruce trees to provide privacy. In addition, we had a sprinkler system installed in the new flower beds and throughout the front yard. They finished everything off by mulching all of the new landscape with pine straw mulch.

The work done was high quality. The work crew was professional and careful with the lawn and other garden areas. They started and completed the job in one day and stayed late to complete it. When finished, the bench was again level and nicely placed on the pavers. The garden shed was also righted and the entire area around it is professionally landscaped. The work crew cleaned up all areas impacted by the project. The results of this project exceeded my expectations and the area is now so much nicer than before.
Description of Work: This company upgraded some of our outdoor spaces on which sat our garden shed and bench. They moved both the shed and the bench, excavated and graded the area, laid down a limestone base followed by pavers for the bench and a river rock skirt for the shed. They also graded around the shed to divert any rain or water run-off that had caused the shed to lean toward the dowhill side of the location.

It went very well and they did a good job for us. We are going to have them back in the spring. I think that the price was fair, based on what they did for us. They were fine. They were good. They came out right away and he spent a lot of time showing us things and what he envisioned for the yard from a front of the line standpoint.
Description of Work: Creech's Lawn & Landscaping did some landscaping work us. They trimmed back some trees and did some clean-up around the yard.

Steve came out promptly for a quote on a replacement brick walkway from drive to back of house (down sloping and curved about 30 feet long). He was quick to point out the pluses and minuses of various options. Within a couple days, I had a quote and photoshop version of what the new walk would look like. I rec'd other quotes that were higher and less informative. Crew did a great job over three days to put the walk together (I tore out of the old walk myself). I did not have enough bricks from old walk to go the distance on the new layout so they blended new with old in a way that made it look very professional and added character. They cleaned up very well and planted new grass where they had to get aggressive around the edges. Very pleased overall. No Angie's discount but look for coupons or mailers.

They did a very good job with the lawn irrigation system although there was a misunderstanding about something but we worked it out. They did a good job on the landscaping. They planted the flowers last year and they came up this year and they look beautiful. They all came up this year and they are lovely. They did a lovely job. Our backyard was a mess because we had just built this house and the builder did a lousy job. Creech came in and seeded and fertilized it. They did whatever needed to be done and it is beautiful now. They have been working on the backyard for the past year and they just finished it. They put down some fertilizer last week. We spent a lot for the service. It was several thousand dollars. The lawn looks beautiful and the system works beautifully. He came and explained how everything works. Everything is fine.
Description of Work: I used Creech's Lawn & Landscaping to do my regular lawn care and my planting. They planted flowers and grass because we had a bad lawn and they fixed it. One of their separate companies set up a lawn irrigation system at a different time.
