We had a termite/bug inspection in our home and the tech told us that the R-value in our attic was low and we would need an upgrade to at least an R-45 but an R-60 would be optimal. He also stated that his company installs insulation. We were skeptical of a bug company installing insulation, so we started to check into how we could make this into a DIY project. After speaking with a friend who went that route, we decided to leave it to the professionals. I found Attic Experts on the web, so I cross-referenced them on Angie?s List and found the reviews were good enough that we requested a consultation through the website. Brian contacted called me within 1 hour of my submission. We talked and he said that would be glad to come out to look at the attic that week and if the price was acceptable, he could do the work within a few days. After his appointment, we found the price he quoted including the Angie?s List coupon was unbeatable, so I contacted him the next day to schedule. I scheduled during the day and asked my Mother to come to house sit and let the workers in. I was told that the work would take about 2 ½ to 3 hours. The workers arrived earlier than expected and clearly identified themselves to my Mother who showed them right upstairs. While the workers were investigating the attic, they noticed that an air conditioner hose that should be attached to a vent in the master bathroom was disconnected. They stopped and went to explain the problem clearly to my mother who contacted me at work. I was able to speak with the gentleman, who explained that he would attach it back and tack it down so it would not come up in the future and continue the work. When I ask him if there was an additional charge, he told me no. Now That?s What I Call Customer Service! They completed the work in 1 hour and 45 minutes, including the clean up. They invited my mother to come and review the work; however, she is unstable on her feet and was not able to climb the ladder. The workers left a ruler with her to tell my husband to inspect the work and to contact Brian if there was a problem. That evening, when we got home from work, I immediately notice a change in the temperature halfway up the stairs, especially in the bathroom and noticed that we don?t run the air conditioner as much on the mild to medium hot days or at night. I have even noticed a change in my energy bill. I highly recommend Attic Experts for all of your insulations needs. I plan to use them when we begin the task of finishing the basement. To think I would have never given them a second look if it were not for Angie?s List.

THEY WERE PUNCTUAL AND PROFESSIONAL AND DID THE JOB IN THE TIME THAT WAS ESTIMATED. NOW MY AIR CONDITIONER RUNS ONLY ABOUT HALF THE TIME AS BEFORE.

The installation in my cape cod house was further complicated by the fact I have central air duct work and the air handler for the air conditioner in the attic space. I have radiator heat and the prior owners installed central air and had the duct work run from the attic. There are two finished bedrooms on the second floor which would remain very hot in the summer months. The central air unit is less than five years old, but when all of the duct work supplying the cold air to all of the house is sitting in the attic space, which would probably well exceed 150 degrees in the summer, it dramatically effected the overall comfort of the entire house. Their company created a method to better solve the insulation needs of a cape cod home. It is called a "heat shield". In simple terms, it is a sheet of foil with a layer of insulation, then another sheet of foil. The heat shield is then installed by lining the back of the walls of the second floor finished rooms in the rafter areas and the underside of the roof. The working theory being the foil reflects the heat back out of the house, and the layer of insulation helps the heat from entering the room. It is remarkable the difference it has made in the two bedrooms upstairs. I feel they went above and beyond in order to assist with my special circumstances of the a/c duct work in the attic. The final level of blown in insulation cradled more than half of the duct work, which resulted in the a/c running more efficiently and cooling the entire house with a noticable improvement. When going up the stairs you are no longer hit by a wall of heat which was probably a 10-15 degree difference prior to the insulation. Whereas the second floor is not as cool as the first floor (I would never expect it to be under any conditions) it is now comfortable and I am more the pleased with the improvement. My first floor family room is an addition off the back of the house, which was also completed prior to my purchase of the home, so I had no knowledge of how much insulation existed for that room, it is 19x14. They created a small hatch in the far corner of the room in order to blow in additional insulation for the room. The amount of insulation blown in for the family room was more than the attic. They are a small company, which I personally prefer. I feel they provided a personal human experience and that we were not just another invoice in the computer. They had to call and reschedule once, but they gave plenty of advance notice and was not an inconvenience. Thye were very thorough and professional.

We found Attic Expert at the Home and Garden show and received an estimate a week later when a representative came to my home. It was very low pressured and he left without having me sign a contract. After a couple of more estimates from other companies I selected Attic Experts. I was pleased with the price and explanation of the planned service. We agreed upon a time for a month later. The 2 workmen arrived exactly on time. They were very clean, courteous and polite. The work was done in 5 hours and they did not leave a mess. My wife did not notice any stray insulation. We are very pleased with their work and have noticed a difference in the temperature in our house since the insulation was blown in.

Called for an estimate to add insulation to attic. Tony came out and explained the procedure and gave a price. He was knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything. He came out a second time to write a quote for the insurance company. After all was agreed upon the installers arrived on time and was very courteous and completed the work in just a couple hours. They were able to work from the garage and cleaned up before they left. 09/28/11: Well summer is over and you know how hot it was. I saw no difference in my air conditioning due to the added insulation. I was hoping to see a big difference like I was told I would.

They called when they were on their way so I could meet them to let them in to do the job. They where in and don in less than 4 hours. House was left in great shape. Now when the heat is turned down in the evening, the temperature takes close to an hour to drop from 70 to 65. before the insulation it took less than 15 minutes. I expect to save a ton of money on my gas bills.

The sales person that came out was on time, (5 minutes early actually). he seemed very knowledgeable of the product and explained how the installation would go. The crew came to install the insulation at 8am and were very quick and did a very nice job. They explained what was being done, including the baffles, and taking care of our bathroom fan. Overall everything went as promised.

They were prompt, diligent, and cleaned up before they left.

Met them at the Home & Garden Show. Dropped in my name, and was called shortly thereafter. A salesman came to the house and gave me a price. I decided to proceed. After he left I saw on his estimate sheet (which he didn't seem to want to share with me) that his price was based on 2,000 square feet. My house "footprint" is 1,700 square feet. The Friday before my job on Monday, I received a "sales call" asking if I'd be interested in getting an estimate! When I called, Brian Hog answered (by saying hello, not Attic Experts). He said my job was not noted for Monday! He called me back in a half hour saying he hadn't read the schedue correctly, and I did have an appointment for the following Monday. Meanwhile, I was panicked! The two installers (Joe & Dan) arrived 5 minutes ahead of time! They were extremely professional, organized and well mannered. I was given an estimate that the job may take from 4-6 hours. It was complete in 4 hours and 45 minutes. At completion I asked about the amount of insulation that was used. I noted that I felt the bid was overestimated by 15%. The installer called Brain & he said it was not, based on the Hamilton County Auditors listing of my house. I said the listing is incorrect. Brian did reduce the price by $300.00, not by the 15% I requested.

Tony was the insulation consultant who provided the estimate. He arrived as scheduled and performed a thorough evaluation of the project. He took the necessary time to explain in detail the work they would perform and ensured that all questions were answered. Once I contracted with them for the work it was scheduled within a week and Joe (the install manager) and his team of two co-workers arrived on-time and did a professional job on the installation. They ensured that they cleaned up and removed any debris after completion of the job. They were a very friendly and professional crew and I would highly recommend them to others.

On time, very professional. Work done as described. Everything was as described and clean up was also good. Nice to get a followup call from the owner a couple days later asking if we were completely satisfied. I would use them again.

The gentleman(/Brian Hogg) that came to give us an estimate was over an hour late. But once here, he was very knowledgable about insulation in general and took the time to explain exactly what the work was going to involve. We had had another estimate from someone who didn't seem very interested in our business. Spent a total of 15 minutes here and never called back to see if we were interested. Brian was not pushy but definitely seemed sincere in wanting our business. Brian also looked over an area surrounding our shower stall and gave us suggestions on how to go about keeping it warmer. He also explained how we could apply to get the refund for the American Recovery act for the insulation job and also told us that we could apply for a refund for a patio door we had installed that the company who had done that work had not mentioned to us. On the day of installation, the crew was 2 hours late as the had been held up at a previous job. However, they got to work and completed the job in about 2.5 hours. They showed my husband what they had done and cleaned up after themselves. They were pleasant and professional.

It went very well. Dan, (I think he's the bosses son?, was up in the attic 3 hours and it was about 110 degrees up there. Glad it wasn't me! Andrew was kind enough to teach me about R values and showed me the Owens Corning product they blew into the attic. Andrew did call me to inform me they were going to be 1/2 an hour late and I appreciated the call. After blowing insulation up there they really fixed up the hatch and the area around it and it is MUCH more comfortable now in my daughters south facing room. They cleaned up afterwards so we didn't have insulation all over the house. I did have an issue with a screen but I talked to Brian Hogg (the owner) and he is taking care of it. Brian answers my calls every time I call them. He has the business phone forwarded to his cell phone much of the time and he told me I could call him any time before midnight if I had any issues or problems. Not much can go wrong though, insulation just kinda sits there. I wish I would have installed the insulation years ago. My wife is sleeping better because it's so comfortable in the house now! I would reccomend them to anyone.
