They were quick, good and efficient. They cleaned up. We were very pleased. They did an A job.

The quality of their work is excellent. He called back to make an appointment for the estimate; he came out and did the estimate. Just talking to him on the phone he seemed like a nice guy, decent and honest and that's the kind of service he provided.

I did not inspect the roof until this spring because of a medical problem. I found out that the roofer had installed the shingles incorrectly. they are what is called over exposed. factory instructions were clearly not followed.as a result the roof has dark lines at each course that are not supposed to be there. these are three tab shingles. by nailing the shingles on in this fashion the durability of the shingles is compromised. this same company replaced my daughters roof last fall. her shingles are the dimensional type shingles. I found out the roofer high nailed the shingles on her roof. this means that both layers of shingle are not attached to the roof. this is a serious problem. the roof could fail in a minimal wind storm. again the manufacturers instructions were not followed.

Construction started ok and as the days continued I became more concerned. Things looked ok and after the garage was completed and I started to do the inside work, I noticed several items that just wasn't right but everything was nailed in place.I found that some of the wall plywood was not nailed in places and many nails missed the framing lumber.Things were out of level and not plumb which caused more problems for me completing the wall board and peg board on the inside walls..I also noticed the front facia board had a large dip in it which created problems with the appearance and installation of the gutters. I presented Troyer with a lengthly list of items that I found to be in need of correction in which I stated I would do.I am a retired carpenter so I was capable of doing these repairs.We settled on a small percentage for a refund to pay for the repairs. As time went on the roof started to leaked and I called for over a week before he returned my calls. Several days later his crew came out and did something to the valley metal in which they said it should be fixed.. We had a strong rain a few weeks later and once again the roof leaked. I called and he said he would call before cumming out. It has gone on 4 weeks now and he has not called or attempted to correct this leak. I have gone up on the roof to see if I could see something and I was shocked to see the condition of the shingles that was cut at the valley metal. I am enclosing pictures to show that I am not being picky. This shows me one more time how this whole job was very unprofessional. I am writing this review to inform others of his lack of quality from him and his crew. Nothing short of removing the complete roof system and resetting the trusses, would repair and correct these problems.

Once they got there, they were really fast, but because of that, quality suffered. They punched and tore lots and lots of holes in the black paper underlayment with the way they "stapled" it on , didn't use a chalk line to insure shingle rows were straight and didn't measure the spacing of the vertical rows, so therefore did not get them even. Some varied as much as 2" in some places. Leroy assured me they would measure the area to be covered to get the spacing correct and that they would use a chalk line to get the rows straight. I did not see them do either and the rows are not as straight as they should be and the spacing on the vertical part of the gambrel roof is not consistent and that is obviuos to anyone who looks at the spacing. (how many inches of each row of shingles is showing)

Good transaction, did what he said he would, in timely fashion, nice work.

We called several companies for estimates to replace a shingle roof and do some repairs to the roof before installation. The other companies took quite some time to get back to us (which isn't a good thing if you are in need of a roof due to the severe weather we experienced). Mr.Troyer was the last on our list to call. My husband called him on a Friday around 1:00 and he was at our house by 2:30 to give us an estimate. He explained that he could do either shingle or steel. He gave us an estimate which was MUCH lower for a shingle roof than the other companies quoted. We also needed fascia and soffit replaced as well. His estimate for both shingle and metal included fascia & soffit. After some research we decided to go with a steel roof instead of a shingle. We called him with our color selections and he said it would be a couple of weeks. It was exactly 2 weeks and they arrived at 6:30a on a Monday morning and were completed by days end (roof only- they came back a couple of days later to do the siding). We needed to replace siding as well and their estimate for siding was lower than others as well. I changed my mind a couple of times in regards to colors and had my husband call him and ask several questions that I was worried about and Mr. Troyer took it all in stride and was very pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend him. Mr. Troyer and his staff were professional and did quality work.

They were higher priced than the other company and they were not willing to negotiate much.

This is an updated report because, unfortunately, Angie's list called on the phone and asked me to rate the company before they'd even done the work! (What's with that? It's not possible to give a very accurate assessment without the work being done.) As a result, the first report was not accurate enough. This company was excellent--friendly, responsive, punctual, good workers, very professional. As an earlier customer noted, Mr. Troyer is Amish...and because of the quality work the Amish are known for...I selected him without even meeting him beforehand (something I would normally NEVER do). But it was an out-of-town job, and my telephone contact with him, his responsiveness, his background, and another Angie's list recommendation made me feel comfortable enough to choose him without meeting him. (And his price was MUCH lower than average!) I was not sorry.

I plan on using them for my new roof. I contacted him and asked him to give me an estimate. He is waiting on me to get back to him with some information. I only spoke with him over the phone. He is a little hard to understand over the phone.

We contacted Troyer Roofing in order to get a free estimate on a new shingle roof. We later decided that we wanted to go with a steel roof, and Mr. Troyer was more than happy to give us a second free estimate. His price was better than any of the other estimates we had, so we decided to go with him. The job was completed in less than three days, and we've been very satisfied with our new roof. We should note that Mr. Troyer and several of his workers are part of the local Amish community. Their work was of the same standard people have come to expect from the Amish community.
