Mr. Starkey was prompt and knew so much about computers. It was wonderful that he drove over 15 miles from his place of business to our home. He was very interesting to talk to. It is great to know that if we have technical problems in the future I don't have to unhook everything and take it in to the shop. Our new printer works great and there is no problem with it not working with the laptop. His charge was very reasonable.

Alan arrived on time and got right to work. He discussed with me exactly what I wanted and got to work. He did run slightly over the hour I had paid for, but did not charge me for the extra minutes.

He fixed everything, the laptop now works as you would expect one too. Highly recommend Alan

Fixed all the issues I had quickly, and interfaced effectively with the IT folks in the work program I must use. (And who were complete jerks up til that time. With his help, it took the jerk IT folks 20 minutes to correct the problem! Very gratifying.)

I suddenly found I could not connect to the internet on my desktop computer. After calling my internet provider, who could not find the problem, I searched Angie's List and found Key Computer Solutions, which is located right in my neighborhood. I called at 8:30 in the morning, and Alan answered right away. He said he could come over as soon as he was done at his current job, which thrilled me that he could come so quickly. He spent a lot of time trying to diagnose the problem, which we both discovered was going to be baffling. He then took the computer to his shop and worked on it some more, and did scans, updates, and clean up. He returned it promptly the next morning, and everything works fine! The computer runs better than it has in a long time. We may never know what the problem actually was, but as Alan explained, with computers, there sometimes is no reason to be found. Alan was very professional, charged me a very reasonable price for the time & effort he spent, and because I was a first-time Angie's List customer, I got a 25% discount. I couldn't be more pleased with his service.

Alan arrived on time; completed the task in one hour, and helped me to open up an Office 365 Account. He's very knowledgeable and pleasant. Gave me a discount for first service. Will definitely use again.

Alan arrived a few minutes early and worked promptly. He knew exactly how to transfer the data, and then install both common and uncommon programs. I was lucky he had another job to do while the data actually copied for 3 hours. He was nice enough to come back and stay past closing hours to get the job finished. He even answered quick questions on the phone and verified the configuration of the machine before I purchased it. He was knowledgeable, professional and a very nice gentleman. I would use him again and will recommend him to anyone needing computer help. He has done this for a long time and gained a lot of experience in addition to the kind you get out of reading books. He was responsive and didn't try to tell me something that wasn't accurate. He didn't have to do a lot to my computer, I was just trying to get a more expert opinion. I thought he was honest.

I was having a problem installing a program that I need for work. It turns out that I need to have more work done on my laptop but I will have that done at a later time.

He was very good. He was here about an hour to recover the files and actually charged less than I originally was told.

My new system is up and running, and I now have a go-to person for future computer issues. I highly recommend his service.

This last time he installed a different way to connect to the downstairs computer as Windows will soon cancel the program i had been using> he also set up a tablet for me>

He performed a diagnostic and found I needed a new DSL unit and ordered the part while he was here as I don't drive and it would be difficult for me to get it myself. He spent quite a bit of time checking a lot of other things as well. He came back on the 9th to install it. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working quite right for long and I plan on calling him after Christmas to check on it since I don't use it very often. However he was very nice and seemed like he knew what he was doing while he was here. I don't think the issue is his fault - I believe it's probably a connection or the new DSL unit itself.

He came on time and installed WiFi in my home and connected my printer. He went above what I asked and connected my kindle to WiFi.I have used Geek Squad in the past. Their work was good but expensive. Also I was looking for the same person I could call with re: tech issues and not have to talk to a phone bank.

Everything went well. They were prompt, efficient, and did the work as expected.

I have used Alan for several years. He is a very experienced and knowledgeable computer tech. He never makes me feel like my questions are stupid. He is easy to communicate with and explains things in detail. He usually answers the phone when I call to make an appointment. I have sent him questions via computer and he always answers them....he has helped me fix issues this way several times. He has always been able to solve any computer/printer problems I may be having. His rates are very reasonable. I am so glad I have finally found a computer tech who is so efficient, professional., and always knows how to fix problems.

Alan gave us suggestions on the type of router to purchase and when we were ready he came out that same day to complete the work. He was efficient and knowledgeable, along with willing to answer questions and problem-solve with us on a couple of issues. We had four different pieces of equipment to make sure were running effectively. He was here a little over an hour and dealt with all the issues on our list. Would definitely use him again if we needed to. He was easy to contact, flexed with us when we had a major electrical and cable issue that caused us to reschedule, and came out same day we rescheduled. Very impressive!

I had upgraded my computer with anti-virus software from a certain company, and it ended up crashing my computer. I got Key Computer Solutions to come out to the house and check it out. I think he charged $73 an hour, and that is when I asked him to take the computer with him. He took it back with him. He said that it couldn’t be repaired, and so he returned it. He gave me a refurbished computer but I really didn’t care for it. I spent $155 for his services - and that included the refurbished computer. I was having a problem with the refurbished computer and he was to call me back, but he didn’t get back to me. If I am waiting for someone to call, and they don’t, then they stop existing for me. I ended up buying a new computer. I would not use him again.
