Just Basements

The project has gone very smoothly so far. Joe has been outstanding to work with and has stayed on top of all of the contractors entering the house to work. They are very neat and clean up after each day. There has been minimum disruption to the house. Each of the groups have been expert in their field. I am looking forward to seeing the finished project. I would highly recommend using Just Basements.

Just Basements did a very good job on our basement project. Due to the location of furnace, sump, poorly thought-out bath rough-in when home was built, etc, we struggled to come up with a design that we expected to be happy with at the end of a considerable investment. Just Basements owner Rob Adams was willing to work through multiple plan revisions with us until we reached a design that we felt warranted moving forward. From the moment we commited to the project, the job was handled professionally and to our satisfaction. If ever there were anything that required special attention or that necessitated a minor scope change, it was addressed promptly and fairly. From the sales contact (Bob) to the project manager (Joe) to the craftsmen that work regularly with Just Basements, everyone delivered high levels of professionalism and skill in their respective areas of expertise, resutling in a finished product that we enjoy every day. I would not hesitiate to recommend Just Basements for any basement finishing project.

Just Basements did a very good job from start to finish. When first contacted they responded right away. Came to house, reviewed what was desired, and from that visit provided a design and detailed cost estimate for the project. The estimator (Bob) made some suggestions on the design and took time to explain the entire process they use. After providing the design, he answered all my questions and made all changes that I wanted and then gave me an updated design and estimate. I had obtained two other estimates for this project. Just Basements' cost estimate was in the middle, but it seemed like they laid out a better plan and included some key considerations the other estimates did not (concerning heating and cold air returns, as well as electrical issues). So we decided to go with Just Basements. It took awhile for me to make a decision to go ahead on this, and Bob was very patient. No high pressure at all. The company then sent a slightly more detailed design and very detailed project plan listing all the costs by line items as well as a time line for the project. The project plan with individual line items made it easy to see what items cost and to add or delete items. For example, I decided to do some of the final painting myself so I could easily see what that cost and adjust the final estimate. The owner, Rob, provided prompt responses to any questions I had about the project design and estimate at the beginning as well as throughout the process. After signing the contract, the project pretty much proceeded exactly as was presented in the detailed project plan. The project manager, Joe, knows his business and kept everything going smoothly from start to finish. He took care of getting all the required permits and coordinated the different phases of the project. All of the various sub-contractors were very professional and in my opinion did quality work. The work area was left clean after each phase of the project. Throughout the project, Joe and Rob both responded to any questions I had and accommodated a few revisions I requested along the way. Also, Joe and the various subs were very considerate with our two dogs who wanted to see everything that was going on while at the same time barking every time someone came in and out of the house. They made sure the dogs weren't frightened and kept them from running outside. The projected went very quickly and was finished ahead of the original schedule. All the inspections went smoothly and the I was pleased with the final results.

Price was near $28K. Found some higher, and some lower. The estimator was thorough with taking measurements, etc., but some of his suggestions were not what I thought was the best way to go.

It's so hard to get someone to respond and come out so quickly. They do exactly what they say they will do in the expected timeframe and do it really well.

They came really quickly and fixed it all up. The furnace then worked wonderfully. Everybody that came was really helpful and polite. Rob is such a nice easy going person. When you find someone you trust, it's great to have them to call for future repairs.

I was very pleased with his work. He was in and out within about 10 days. Overall, a good experience. He does excellent work and is very professional.

They were very responsive, and they got back to me. They were timely and very professional. I just went with the other guy because he offered me to do a couple of extra things. I would give them an opportunity to give me an estimate again in the future.

No headaches or problems. No disruptions to rest of the house or our schedule.

He was prompt and informative. I enjoyed the bid and right in line with others that I received. I decided to go with another company that provided a different system for the walls.

Overall, they did a very good job with the basement refinishing. The person they hired for tiling the bathrooms did excellent work. The one complaint that we have is the time to completion on the project.

Just Basements came out and measured our basement space and talked to us about what we wanted in the space. They then drew up a suggested plan. They worked with us to make sure that the plan addressed what we wanted but also was feasible and cost effective. They provided a very detailed estimate with everything listed as a line item. It was very easy to see the cost of everything and easy to adjust the affect on the cost if part of the work was changed. They act as the general contractor, with the work done by subcontractors. Joe, the project manager, checked in just about every day and was super about addressing and questions or concerns we had. Joe was very careful in looking over the sub's work and calling them back in to correct any issues. He himself, and another employee of Just Basements, did some of the small odds and end work not covered by the subs. Joe was also very respectful of our property and made sure everything was cleaned up as the job continued. We did not put a timeline on the job, giving us a little discount on the job, so the work from start to finish went from September-begining of February. In the estimate, they included some items as budgeted line items, but others, such as faucets, fixtures and tile, we had to purchase. We are very pleased with the basement. It's been a year and we don't have problems or complaints. We have gotten many compliments on the basement design and finish. What a great experience!

The quote was fine except that I didn't have the money to go through what I was looking to do. I had to pick and choose which of the things we were going to do and that one didn't need the priority than some of the others I did. They responded fairly quickly and got things done within about a week. I would say that they did well. We had got a couple of quotes for the work.

We selected Just Basements based upon Angie's List scores and reviews. Rob Adams, the Owner, uses subs for much of the work. They were all top notch. Joe, the project manager was in to check on each sub at the beginning of their portion of the job and inspected their work before they were done. He was great to work with. Very responsive and conscientious. Everyone was personable and courteous. The job was completed within the 7 -10 week timeframe we were told it would take. Joe consulted with us whenever there was a question or a decision to make. We felt like we were in complete control as the job progressed. We ended up changing a few elements from the original quote and he just rolled with the changes as they came up. Rob also fairly adjusted the final invoice to reflect those changes. Bottom line is that they did what they said they would do. They were timely, clean, courteous and also were very good about ensuring we were involved and comfortable every step of the way. The end result is a beautiful room that friends and neighbors tell us doesn't even look like a basement. We are very happy.

We were given a detailed proposal where every component of the work was explained. Other proposals were not as detailed and you weren't quite sure what you were paying for. The job went smoothly from start to finish. Workers showed up on time, the work area was kept clean and trash carried out daily. Everyone was pleasant and respectful of our home. The workmanship was outstanding and we were very pleased with the outcome. The project was completed in the time promised!

Everything went great. They did a great job and had good men on the crew. They were there for about 3 days. They exceeded my expectations.

They basically "moved in" to our basement. A crew of men arrived everyday by 8 am and worked daily until about 5 pm. They were very professional and hard working. The whole project good about 3 weeks. We were very pleased with the outcome.

The whole process went well. They quickly cam out and gave the estimate. Work started within a week. Took 3 days. They even came in the evening to meet a deadline I had. Completely cleaned up the job site including their path in. Work looks great

People from Just Basements Company were very, very responsive. They were very good. They were very professional. I had no complaints with them. They were fine but they were beyond my budget. I would consider contacting them in the future if required.

Went very well. The few issues we encountered were dealt with quickly and effectively. End result is beautiful. Would definitely recommend and use again

I spent around $15000 on the job. They were great. They did great work. Al is the owner. He was very professional. I get a lot of compliments for my basement. He was a little expensive, though. I will use this company again in the future.

Overall performance and quality exceeded our expectations. Work was completed exactly as described. Very professional staff, especially our project manager (Joe). Very respectful of our home, very neat and clean work. We love our basement and could not be happier. We definitely made the right choice.

Rob was very helpful on providing me information I needed in a prompt manner; if I leave him a message he would call me back either the same day or the very next day. We have many email and phone contacts, he have always answered my questions to help me seeing how things would work. I have interviewed about 4 companies, since Feb 2010, Rob gave me a good impression about their company, so as good words from customers they have served. When they provide me with a detailed work order, I felt more confident with them to do the job right, though it might take up to 2 months to finish the job.

No pressure sales which was appreciated. Good at providing guidance on options to work with our budget. Workers were friendly and responsive if we had questions. Work started on time but it took longer to get some of the permits than originally anticipated (holidays probably a factor in that). Overall good experience.

They did a very good job of keeping us informed as to what was going on. They also kept things really clean as we went through the process. They subcontracted some of the work as well. They were really good and I would recommend them.
