Just Basements

It went all very well over all. As with any job the need to make on-site modifications, especially with the plumbing, came up from time to time and Just Basements resolved them professionally and expeditiously. They were timely and stayed within estimate. We were especially impressed with the woodwork. We had trim and doors and hatches and post enclosure finished with wood and stained and varnished to match our upstairs. They did an exceptional job with it and it looks beautiful. Just basements personnel were quite easy to work with and strove to meet customer expectations.

We were very impressed with Just Basements. Rob returned our calls right away and sent Bob out to meet with us within a week to develop a plan for our space. They have done extensive work in our area, so they know the code well enough to make the permitting process run very smooth/quickly. Despite several changes during the project (mostly our fault), they kept on-schedule and delivered a very, very nice product. They sub nearly everything, but seem to use the same subs over and over, so they're practically employees. It was impressive to see the coordination of subs coming in and out...particularly since all of this happened from afar and via telephone. With the exception of a few minor hiccups along the way, we were very pleased and would recommend Just Basements for basement finishing.

They did a fantastic job. They were very timely from the beginning and were on site most days we weren't waiting for an inspection (which they scheduled very well). They were very helpful up front in the design phase and had solutions to standard problems already worked out (hiding sump pump, furnace, water heater, etc.). The few minor problems we had (cable hook ups not all working, some spots of uneven paint) were fixed the next day after I reported them. Very professional crew. I would definitely recommend them to someone else. Timing was as follows blueprint approved 2/22, permits approved 3/8, crew started hauling lumber and framing 3/12. Complete with all work and follow up and ready for carpeting guys on 5/3. There were no unexpected costs and what we agreed to on 2/22 with the blueprints is exactly what I made a final payment for on 5/3.

Very prompt. All coordinated well without incident. Everyone who came out to the house was professional. Beautiful basement finish out!

They drywalled, taped and mudded the ceiling. They did a beautiful job and the price was the best of all the estimates we got. They cleaned up after themselves and they were very prompt. They were polite, quiet and they did a remarkable job. They stayed right with their quote.

Just Basements did a fantastic job on our basement. It looks wonderful and the quality of everything is very high. My husband has finished basements himself in our previous two houses, so we had a good idea what things cost. We are also very picky because we know exactly what we like and have an idea about how things should be done. Just Basements had very fair pricing, and the quality of their workmanship was excellent. They figured out a way to solve some sticky problems in the existing HVAC and in a U-shaped stairwell that didn't have a lot of space. The carpentry was fantastic, and their carpenter recreated some beautiful shelves from a picture I had. They even did extra things I didn't notice until the basement was finished - like put in an extra wide doorway to the storage area so we could easily move furniture in and out. The staff of Just Basements is also excellent - they kept in touch, asked for feedback often, and immediately returned any calls I had with questions.

Overall, it was a positive experience. Just Basements did a nice job. We had a few minor issues with the installation of the 1/2 bath, but Rob Adams was able to work with me and resolve the issues to my satisfaction. His workers, as well as the sub-contractors, were nice and friendly and clean.

We were very happy with the work that Just Basements performed and with their work as the general contractor. Excellent job on the drywalling. The finish carpenter and tile man were truly masters at their crafts. We encountered some slight problems with the doors, plumbing and electrical work and all were handled to our satisfaction. The only subcontractor that I was somewhat disappointed in was the painter who actually did a pretty good job with the painting (once we pointed out problems), but who could have done a much better job with the staining of the woodwork. Oh well, the overall quality of the project is actually very good. The job took overlong, but frankly we were a cause of much of the delay. I was very impressed with the willingness of the owner and the foreman to immediately deal with any problems that came up. They also checked in with us constantly and kept us informed. I totally trusted them and would work with them again.

Their work ethic was great. Each and every step of the process was explained in detail not only in writing but also by the project foreman.

Each representative of this company was very professional, courteous, reliable, and each completely cleaned up the area they were working in each day. They were all easy to work with. We would (and have) recommended Just Basements to friends and neighbors.

I am very happy with the work "Just Basements" did on my house. Attention was given to detail and quality and the price was fair.

From the initial walk-thru of the unfinished basement, Rob Adams (owner) and "his people" (some direct employees-some dedicated subs) started the process. I was presented with a working floor plan for the basement which was adjusted based on my comments and suggestions, all of which were seamlessly incorporated into the final plan. From there Rob developed an extensively detailed cost proposal plus timing schedule. As with any plan, construction additions, subtractions and modifications were part of the ongoing process. EVERY change, no matter how small, was accompanied with a change order showing additions/credits to cost of the project. I always knew where I stood on total cost of the project. Rob's crew was headed by a supervisor and a team of wonderful construction "artists". Everyone was very accommodating, professional, talented and TIMELY. They were there when they promised! The entire project finished 2 days ahead of schedule. I'd use them again without hesitation!

My wife and I had received several estimates for finishing the basement over the past four or so years. Which included everything from the basement systems from Champion and Ownes Corning to just normal finishing materials. We decided on Just Basement based on the presentation, estimate and professionalism of the staff. They honored our original quote, began work in early September and finished right on time. They were extremely clean, neat and cleaned up after every step of the process. Mr. Adams kept in contact during the course of the project via immediate response to my e-mails and telephone calls, and let me know of any issues that arose during the project. All in all they did a fantastic job and I will highly recommend them to friends and family. Job well done A++..Thanks!

Mitch, Joe and others (Leonard?) were on time, efficient, and professional. All work was done in a timely manner and everything looks great. The deck and Malibu lighting were done in a day and turned out to be spectacular! Hardwood floors were very reasonably priced.

The Just Basements representative seemed very knowledgeable, courteous and prompt. He even made a few suggestions on our remodel that I had not thought of. Their estimate was VERY easy to read and thorough although after getting three estimates, I was able to hire a contractor for less money. I would however call them again as I was impressed.

Rob was extremely professional and easy to work with. I had requested several changes during the process and he was willing to accommodate. Work was done on schedule and quality was excellent. Would use again and would recommend!

The estimator was very friendly, but the design didn't really serve our needs. It felt very cookie-cutter and placed access to the half bath in an area I specifically asked to avoid. The price was the highest by about 40 percent and didn't include painting the rooms. It seemed no one would be available to begin work for some time, and I didn't feel our business would be important to the firm. We chose someone else for our project.

Very good experience - certainly not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for - top notch quality, good ideas re: layout/pocket doors, etc. - mostly on time, very flexible, as they scheduled/worked around my projects. I did some trim/finish work, audio/vid wiring, built/installed the bar - so flexibility in timing was critical - and very successful. Very positive overall experience.

This company was a close second (of four) in my bidding process. They were the first to come out to visit, had the most professional detailed bid, and were close to the lowest price. I ended up selecting Custom Design Basements b/c they had a few more creative ideas and a slightly lower price.

Very polite and accommodating to family issues. Willing to make changes. Delivered all materials when expected and cleaned up during and after project. Very good people to work with, and very knowledgeable. Had a dripping problem with tub within the week of installation. Rob sent his plumber back out who took it apart to remove some debris that had gotten into the system.

JUST BASEMENTS IS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL. THEY SENT LITERATURE TO US BEFORE THE SALESMAN EVEN CAME. THEY BROUGHT A PACKET OF INFORMATION WITH THEM WHEN THEY CAME. AND THEY FOLLOWED UP AFTER THE INITIAL VISIT. HOWEVER, THEIR ESTIMATE WAS ABOUT 30% HIGHER THEN 2 OF THE 4 ESTIMATES WE RECEIVED. WHILE I APPRECIATE THE PROFESSIONALISM OF THEIR MARKETING, I'M NOT WILLING TO PAY FOR IT. WE ENDED UP GOING WITH THE COMPANY WITH THE LOWEST ESTIMATE B/C THEY HAD THE BEST IDEAS AND OFFERED THE MOST OPTIONS AND WE KNEW THEY WOULD DO A QUALITY JOB.

OUTSTANDING. THE CONTRACTORS WERE ALWAYS REACHABLE BY PHONE, AND THEY CLEANED UP AFTER THEMSELVES. THE FINISHED SPACE IS JUST WHAT WE WANTED. THERE WERE SOME GLITCHES AT THE END OF THE PROJECT, AND THE CONTRACTOR PAID TO FIX THEM. AS HE SHOULD HAVE.

EVERYONE AT JUST BASEMENTS WAS COURTEOUS ON THE PHONE AND IN PERSON. THE OFFICE STAFF CALLED REGULARLY TO CHECK ON OUR SATISFACTION WITH THE JOB AS IT PROGRESSED, AND FOR ANY CONCERNS WE MAY HAVE. ALL THE EMPLOYEES AND THE OWNER OF JUST BASEMENTS REALLY SEEMED TO CARE ABOUT OUR PRETTY SIMPLE LITTLE JOB. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS. OH, AND OUR BASEMENT LOOKS GREAT!

WHO HAD COMPLETED WORK ON 2 OF OUR NEIGHBORS HOUSES (GREAT WORK AND LOWER END OF ESTIMATES). OF THE 4 ESTIMATES WE RECEIVED FOR THIS JOB, JUST BASEMENTS WAS IN THE MIDDLE RANGE.
