Hubbs Heating & Air LLC

This is a follow up to my new heat pump installation in 12/2022. Everything is working great. The variable stage heat pump costs more, but it is much better than my old, basic single stage. The air handler was in my office closet, so I spent the day working from home with them working in the same room. Funny and honest techs...I actually enjoyed seeing the entire install while doing my own work. I highly recommend them!

Was having problems with my HVAC / heat pump. I didn't want to call the emergency number on a Sunday, but I saw I could schedule service online. I picked a date and time and received e-mail and text confirmation. Tech arrived on time and found multiple issues. It was a 17-year system, which they have worked on in the past. They have always been on time and updated me on their arrival time. We went over the options to keep the system running (repairs and parts), but ultimately decided it would be better to replace it with a new and more efficient unit. Keri, in the office, provided a few quotes for systems with varying options and efficiencies. I selected a variable-stage compressor unit, and I'm looking forward to the installation soon. I will post again after the install.

It wasn't an emergency, so I didn't want to call after hours. I went online around 8pm and scheduled an appointment online. The next morning, they texted at 7am to say a tech would be there between 8 and 10am. Then the tech (Angie) called at 7:30am and said she would be there at 8:20am. She found the problem and had the parts on-hand to fix immediately. Then she checked other components (air handler and heat pump) to make sure heat and cool modes worked properly. I was shocked and pleased how quickly they responded. I have used them in the past and will continue to do so. As a DIYer, I tend to fix most things if I have the time. When I don't have the time or the proper tools (like refrigerate), I trust Hubbs for quality service and fair pricing.

Hubbs performed an annual furnace inspection and replaced the thermostat. The tech (Tyler) was on time, knowledgeable, and thoroughly explained the work performed. The price including the part and service was very fair and I would hire them again.

Our furnace needed service under home warranty and Hubbs heating was assigned to us. They decided that whole furnace needed replaced. Home Warranty insurance only covered the basic furnace. We had to pay for the install and other parts. The tech did a ok job, I was not impressed with his skills. Not very professional, pipes were bent, pulled to fit, just to get things running, no attention to detail. i would not hire again.

The tech was personable and friendly, and scheduling was surprisingly easy; I called at around 10 am and was able to schedule for an 8-10 am window for the very next day. He arrived at 8:45. Unfortunately, he did no more than look at the hot water heater before telling me that it would need to be replaced, the company wouldn't repair something so old. The best he could do would be to call and get some pricing. Overall, the appointment lasted maybe 5 minutes, and involved a quick conversation about nothing more than options. He then asked me for a $135 service call fee. I was told nothing about a service call fee when I scheduled - while I expected one, I assumed it would be much, much lower, and the scheduler should absolutely have mentioned that. I refused to pay $135 for five minutes of discussion and no work done at all. I will not be hiring these people.

Tech was very professional and explained everything in detail

I called to make the appointment for a 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. time frame window. I was told by the person who recorded the appointment that the technician would call me a half-hour before he arrived. I asked the person if, because I would be at work at 1:30, where I would be unable to answer my phone, the technician would still come to my home for the appointment if I couldn't answer the phone but was home at 2:00. I was told it wouldn't be a problem. Soon thereafter, I received a confirmation email regarding the appointment with the name of my technician. On the day of the appointment, I arrived home at 2:00 and waited for the technician. At 3:30, I was concerned I still hadn't received a call, so I called the company to ask about the appointment. The woman who answered told me the appointment had been canceled because someone had called me at 1:30 p.m., but I didn't answer the phone. I told her about what I'd been promised when I set up the appointment. She said the company does not work like that and asked with whom I had made the appointment. I told her I didn't know, so she checked her records and saw that it was someone named Carrie. She said she could reschedule the appointment. I said that would be fine as long as it could be set for after 4:45 p.m. or the weekend as I was not going to take time off work yet again. She said it was not their policy to do that unless I paid extra. Because the woman was very brusque, unapologetic, and unwilling to accommodate me, I asked to speak to the manager. She said she was the manager. I explained the situation again, and she said there was nothing she could/would do. She was not the least bit apologetic or sympathetic. She asked if I wanted her to leave a message for the owners. I said that I did. When she told me that one of the owners' names was Carrie, I asked if it was the person who had taken my initial call to set up the appointment, and she said that it was. She said she'd leave a message for the owners to call me. A half-hour later, I received a telephone call from a technician (not the original technician, but a technician named Ernie) apologizing for the scheduling "mix-up" and asking if he could come at 5:00. I said that was fine. Ernie arrived at 5:15 and proceeded to carry out his work in a friendly, professional, seemingly conscientious manner. He took the time to explain what he was doing and give me some advice about my humidifier system. He apologized for the scheduling snafu once again before he left. I thought the service was great; I thought the manager demonstrated poor customer-relation skills.

My experience with has been very good. They were able to fix the furnace. I think their price was very reasonable.
