Greg Kasson Construction

Greg designed and built our home in 2008. My husband and I interviewed several builders in the area, and all of them were impressive. But Greg was the only one who was willing to spend the time and effort to make sure that our home was exactly what we needed. The challenge was to build a house that had no petroleum products, used passive solar design and was built to green-building standards to reduce the long-term cost of maintaining and heating the house. We spent 2.5 years in the design process to ensure all building materials were free of any hazardous materials. Greg carefully sited the house to allow the sun to warm it in the winter and to keep out the sun in the summer. He also worked with Scioto Valley to design a physical therapy room that includes a swim spa and hot tub. Greg found cement without petroleum additives, lumber without insecticides, exterior materials that included shingles made from sawdust and a rubber-based polymer and interior finishes like paint, caulk, drywall and insulation that didn't release gasses into our living area. Other builders said that they would use whatever materials I wanted, but Greg realized that although I knew what materials we couldn't use, I had no idea what materials would also be high quality building materials. He even enjoyed the challenge of finding solutions to unexpected problems. I honestly thank God for Greg every day. Whenever I see one of the items that we spent weeks tracking down (and basically everything in the house qualifies), I appreciate his patience and dedication to building a house that has helped heal me. Seriously, he is that good.

I am very satisfied with the work Mr. Kasson performed and would strongly recommend his work. He gave me an estimate and we discussed the cost several times throughout the job. He came in on estimate.

Although a few snags along the way, the finished project is amazing. The tile work in the shower and both kitchen and bathroom floors is amazing.

By far the best contractor of this type I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Professional, prompt, fair and timely-does what he says he will do, and when-and the quality of work is second to none. If I had known about him and his company when we built our house-knowing what I know about his work now, I would have used him to build it instead of one of the "big neighborhood" builders that does "own lot" work. They were fine, but Greg is better, across the board. I will hire Greg for any/all construction/remodel, etc. work that I ever need, without looking elsewhere.
