I bought a beautiful Kincaid cherry dining room suite at a tag sale in Powell, OH. Since I was from out of town I needed to make arrangements to come and get the furniture. I told the seller (Milt Law at Caring Trasitions who handled the sale), I'd be back the very next Sat. He said he would have the furniture moved to his warehouse and I could collect it there. I rented a U-Haul and came to collect my beautiful pristine furniture on Sat. July 13. When I walked into the warehouse the first thing I noticed was huge gouges and scratches in the buffet and numberous scratches on the dining table. Milt did not want to own up to anything and said it was up to the movers he used to move the furniture to his warehouse. He gave me the card for Bee Hauld Moving Company which had Keith Crist, Owner on the card. We brought the furniture home. The next business day (Monday), I called and left a voice mail message at the number listed on the card, which stated was a cell phone number. I had no response after several days, so I called again and left another voice mail message. Again several days passed and I still had no response back. I called again and this time threatened to have my lawyer contact him. He called me back. I explained what happened and he stated to me that Caring Transistions does not carry an insurance policy with Bee Hauld so he could not make a claim. I stated he needed to make good on the damaged furniture and told him I'd send him pictures to his phone. He received the pictures and did admit to the damages the movers had done and would make good as a cash settlement. I then set about getting quotes to refinish the buffet and table top. This took about 3 weeks to get the quotes in. I then sent a .pdf copy of the cheapest quote I could get ($855) to Keith's email address listed on the card and asked him to reply back so I would know he received the quote. I had no response back. About 10 days passed and I called him and this time he answered, I explained who I was and he remembered but said he never received the quote (on his phone). I told him I sent it to gmail address and could he please log onto his gmail account and check it? He said he would. It's now been over a month and 3 more emails to him and several more phone calls later I still haven't received a reply. I am taking the matter to my lawyer now.
