Description of Work: Repaired overhang under kitchen. Discovered Bee Hive at least 12X18",thank goodness it was empty. Replaced wooden overhand and insulated area. Cleaned up after himself and very friendly, a wonderful job. Actually, this is the second time we've used him.

Description of Work: They identified the reason for a rotting fascia board. The job entailed the removal of the gutter, rotted fascia board and dentil molding and the installation of a new fascia board, flashing behind the gutter, replacement of the gutter (added additional clips) and the installation of new dentil molding. New installation areas were caulked as well. The job took approximately 5 hours. I am satisfied with the resolution of my problem area.

Description of Work: repairs from burst pipes. replaced broken faucet. big job was filling in a 4'x1' hole in the kitchen ceiling. Did an excellent job until the finishing. We have fancy stucco. He tried but could not match it. He was eager to do his best and if not for the stucco problem would have been terrific.

 + -1 moreGreat experience. I got Louis's name from the list. I called him and he was surprisingly available as another client cancelled due to the rain that day. He came over within 15 to 20 minutes. He explained everything that needed to be done in laymens terms and gave me an estimate of what he thought the highest price the job would cost. My appointment was soon after our first meeting. It would have been sooner if my schedule had allowed. Louis came on time for the appointment, got busy and worked until he was done explaining the progress and asking my permission in regards to how I wanted the finished product. He took care to keep as little of the dust in the house as possible with a tarp. Louis made our closet look as if it were there always. He kept the old wood finish (baseboards and door frame)as older houses tend to have. The job was not as costly as we thought. Id hire him again if it had been closer to $300. I already gave his name to friends and family.
Description of Work: We are redoing our closets. Louis doubled the size of the closet door in our bedroom by removing the wood door, portion of the wall and rebuilding the frame. Then he put in two bifold doors.

 + 1 moreI received an estimate from Louis, he spent some time going over all details, and gave me suggestions which I very much appreciated. Unfortunately I went another way, but I am posting this because of all the problems that contractors seem to have with returning phone calls and showing up. Louis returned my phone call, and showed up on time. I will consider him for my next job.

 + -1 moreI took a chance on Lou, who had never done a screened-in porch before, because I couldn't afford to have the patio companies do it. I am very pleased with his work and have received compliments from all my neighbors. Lou had a difficult task in that the old columns on my porch were not straight, but he was able to use his magic to create the framing. Lou listened to all my concerns and suggestions, and either made changes or clearly explained why something couldn't be done.
Description of Work: Screening-in of existing front porch. Included cedar framing, pine molding, and steel screens. Lou also built double doors and did all the caulking.

 + -1 moreI AM SO HAPPY WITH LOU AND HIS WORK (REMEMBER, SEVERAL OTHER CARPENTERS PASSED ON THE WORK AND SOME SAID THAT IT COULDN'T BE DONE) THAT I HAVE HIRED HIM FOR ADDITIONAL JOBS. I WILL BE REPORTING ON HIM AGAIN SOON. I AM SURE THAT I WILL HAVE ANOTHER WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE WITH HIM.
Description of Work: THE BACK DOOR WAS IMPROPERLY INSTALLED WHEN THE PREVIOUS OWNER BUILT AN ADDITION. IT CAUSED THE ENTIRE HOUSE TO SHAKE WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED. LOU REBRACED THE FRAMING TO THE DOOR AND REINSTALLED THE DOOR. HIS KNOWLEDGE OF BUILDING CAUSED MINIMAL DISRUPTION AND REPAINTING WORK TO BE DONE. SEVERAL OTHER CARPENTERS TOLD ME THAT THIS COULD NOT BE DONE WITHOUT TEARING OUT THE OUTSIDE OF THE HOUSE. LOU DID IT FROM THE INSIDE WITH MINIMAL CHANGE TO THE DRY WALL. THE DRYWALL REPAIR WAS DONE IN A WAY THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN TELL THAT THERE WAS A REPAIR IN THE AREA.
