I rarely write these reviews but felt the need after a fairly negative experience at Lakewood Upholstery. Payment was made and 6 weeks later the work wasn't completed. When I called the owner calls were left unanswered. Owner finally called back and said work would be done the following Monday. I went to the shop and proceeded to have a heated discussion with the owner over why the work wasn't done (as he said it would be). He grumbled they'd be done that day which they were. I felt like getting the work done was like pulling teeth. Overall quality was good but not worth the hassle. If you have a lot of patience and time this is your place.....

I dropped off the chairs and the fabric. Explained that I wanted to update their look. He understood exactly what I was looking for. completed the work in two week - right on time. Thank you sooo much!

I need two custom bench cushions made and six pillows of various sizes. I stopped in the store on Madison and was able to take about 9 fabric books home with me. When I returned one week later with all of my dimensions and fabric choices the person at the store (Mike, I think), was argumentative and very unfriendly. Earlier in the process a designer I was working with called him to establish a relationship and he was very rude to her so I assumed that's just his manner. I was okay with the rudeness, not looking for a friend, just someone to make my cushions. When I gave him my dimensions with info on how thick to make the cushion and what kind of trim around the edges - he said no he wouldn't do that. Said he would make them the way he has always made cushions. I didn't love the approach, but he knows more about this than I do so I said fine. I asked him to work up a quote and call me. He said in would call in a few days and that it would take him about 4 weeks to do the work. I never heard back.
