Description of Work: I destroyed my computer thinking I could fix it myself. Joe and KiKi took a look at it and said sure we can fix this. They didn’t make me feel stupid about trying to fix it myself and went right to work and fixed everything. I can’t say enough about how professional and knowledgeable these folks are. Real pros.

+ -1 moreIt went well. I took the computer to Joe's shop and he had everything working there but yet when I took it home I could only connect wirelessly. I could not connect via the wired connection. I called him back and he came out to the house and determined that it was the modem. He called AT&T and we talked to them and got them to send out a new modem which I received the next day. I installed it and everything is back to working the way it was before I began having the internet issues.

Description of Work: I knew a total overhaul was needed. Turns out the hard drive was VERY corrupted. They installed a new hard drive and malwarybytes. All in a couple of hours. Then, they talked me off the panic cliff when I could not find all my documents. (of course they were all there!!!)

+ -1 moreWhen Etec computers failed me for more than 3 months in a previous review, the Guys at Joes saved me twice in 9 months. They saved my laptop from disaster when every other shop i know of and have been too in Lakewood, Ohio for quotes told me its done and buy a new one. Having replaced a motherboard in the past and being familiar with my computer they jumped right in and had my computer apart in 5 minutes figuring out how bad it was. I have failed their advice in the past and i just get real bad about backing up my computer, i told them worst case scenario i need that hard drive, they made the repairs got the computer working in under 30 minutes, i understand this might not be typical service procedures because they are busy, i had all my business on that computer and was on a serious deadline, but yet I'm working on it right now as i type this 6 hours later Thank you to the gentlemen at Joes, I owe you big time!!!
Description of Work: I dropped my Laptop on the side and the power button and case were damaged enough to prevent power up or the screen to physically open.

+ -1 moreI am so Happy I did not give up on my computer because another place in Lakewood with excellent reviews(E-Tec) was the worst I have ever dealt with in my life. I have a sony vpcz1 it is custom built and about 6 years old, I got it back from e-tec as a swollen mess and screws and other parts missing. I took it to joes in Lakewood and basically asked for help. I felt the computer even old was still able to be fixed and last another year or 2. the guys at Joes called me and said all I needed was a motherboard and they could get it going again, I asked him if he felt it was worth it and he said of course it is. I am sorry I did not write this review sooner but its been 5 months and not a hiccup or anything, they got all the pieces back together and my computer still outperforms modern 1000.00 dollar units, thank you so much to the gentlemen at Joes computer. you are true professionals.

Description of Work: Desktop tower wouldn't stay on and there were other hardware problems (DVD tray wouldn't open). There were components that were burned out. The analysis was done for free. He did it in front of my husband and showed him everything that was not working and why. It wasn't worth the repair. Purchased a desktop (very compact), monitor, keyboard, mouse and very cool speakers. I have to say super great speakers. Great service in transferring files and setting it all up. All we had to do was plug in the computer and components. Very knowledgeable. And a super nice guy.
