Steve came out to inspect and diagnose my problem within a couple of days of contacting him. He was very pleasant and friendly and we inspected the basement together. I was ecstatic when he told me that he did not think I had a crack in my foundation and that I should take a "wait and see" attitude, noting any moisture or leakage when we get our next heavy rain. He charged nothing for his trip here and inspection and did not even get a job out of the deal. He advised me to contact him again if I noted leakage but assured me that he did not find anything glaring to worry about. What a pleasant experience!
Description of Work: I called Steve on a recommendation I received from another service provider. That provider was a home inspector, who is also on Angies List and provided excellent service to me. He advised me that I might have a foundation crack and recommended Steve's company, explaining that he had seen many waterproofing jobs and companies, and that Steve's was one of the best. I was very concerned about being railroaded into thinking I had a bigger problem than I thought and persuaded to purchase an expensive waterproofing system.

I chose INTEGRITY because of their record in the List. The woman who took my call was pleasant and efficient, and we set an appointment just a few days away. Steve Allen, the owner, arrived not only on time but with a friendly aura of competence that made me feel that perhaps my house wasn't about to fall into a sink hole filled with moldy slime. He asked me to detail my concerns, toured the sites with me, inspected not just the surfaces and the areas behind them, but "took in" the "whole picture" the paneling, interior foundation, etc., presented, then did the same on the outside. He asked focused questions, explained as he went along and educated me about how things fit together. As for the crumbling of the interior drywall, he determined that the source was very likely the poorly-positioned chimney flashing that directed the rain runoff down behind the chimney trim into the very obvious hole at the house-chimney corner (which I'd thought was some animal warren!!) and down behind the wall like a sluice. He suspected, then found, a stiffened chunck wad of caulk or whatever, that the previous owner had stuffed in the trim channel to stop the flow. In a nutshell, Steve was BEYOND competent, knowledgeable about his craft and trade and earnestly aware that a large portion of his service is to give the customer the peace of mind that comes from sound reasoning, experience and expertise. In my case he told me he detected no overt evidence of mold, that a good roofing contractor can replace the faulty flashing to divert the rainwater and suggested that I hire a plumber to inspect/flush the buried cleanout pipes via their vertical stacks that I had never figured out what they were intended to do. Cost of this hour's worth of expertise? Not a cent. The reassurance and relief that I can now address these issues and likely not need actual foundation work? Priceless!!
Description of Work: I called INTEGRITY because of my intense concern over three persistent, worsening problems in my basement -- water trickling in at two wall-floor junctions, the lingering smell of what I feared was mold, and water-staining and crumbling of the drywall at ground level (chest level).

We called Steve, he returned our call and we scheduled a time for him to come out and look. He showed up on time like he said and took a look at our foundation and landscape. I apologized for wasting his time and thanked him. Extremely trustworthy and professional. A+ service.
Description of Work: We had a couple of questions about possible water issues in our basement. Steve came out took a look and told us of a couple minor issues that we could fix. I am very impressed and would love to give him business; but it turns out that we don't have an issue. He will be the first person I call when/if we do.

Although we signed contract last July 2010, the worked was not performed until March 2012 due to the heavy rain fall from July to date of service. We are extremely pleased with the work performed. It was well worth the wait. The crew was on time each day and kept us informed throughout the process. Only suggestion for the crew--due to the fact that the project was delayed for many month, once the work got started, we were scheduled for vacation and was not around to help them replace the landscape. Suggest that a picture of the landscape be taken before everything is removed to assure putting things back to same design is guaranteed. We are really excited and confident that our problem is solved--but are equally as confident in their service that if there is an issue, they will immediately take care of it. Awesome Company, Great Work!

From our first meeting with the owner of the company through the interaction with the office staff and the professional workmen that completed the job we were very pleased. We had first received an estimate from a well advertised water proofing company and that experience of high pressure selling and huge cost was such a sharp contrast to the wonderful service we received from Integrity Waterproofing. I would recommend them without hesitation.
Description of Work: Corner of the basement was showing dampness in the wall. They dug up the area outside and found a hole in a pipe. Fixed the pipe and waterproofed the outside of the basement in that area. They dug by hand in one area in order to preserve the stamped concrete patio. We were so please with that extra effort and the money it saved us in not having to have a section of the patio replaced.

I contacted the company because their website stated that they service Medina County, and that's where I live (northwestern area of the county). On Angie's List it says that they service the entire area except for Stark and Portage counties. Well, they called me and told me they don't service my area. I think they should make it clear that they don't service Medina County.

The job went very well. I received the quote over the summer; this was not the least expensive quote but was the methodology that I was most impressed with. Further, Steve (the owner) had decades of experience and committed to completing a quality job in such a way that I wouldn't know that they had even been there, in terms of what the outside of my house looked like. The job was delayed by weather and by the fact that the company was very busy. Overall I think that it was worth the wait and believe that I got my money's worth, though time will, of course, tell, in terms of how dry my basement is. I was impressed with the job completed and the layers of waterproofing. The work was done over an 8 day period and there were heavy rains during that period. There was a lot of ancillary damage to my property and my neighbor's property (driveway) because the heavy rains made the ground soft and the heavy equipment ripped up what was there. I'm relatively impressed with the extent to which this company attempted to repair what had been damaged by their process. They re-graveled part of my neighbor's driveway and re-seeded over half of my front lawn and part of my back lawn. I'm concerned that I will ultimately just have a mess of a front lawn, in particular, but based on when they started the job that was really their only option. There was a second project planned, to tie in the drainage from my driveway and garage, but it's not clear when that will happen. Overall this was a good experience and I would recommend this company to others. This company does live up to its name, is a family business, and is staffed by people that treated my house like it was their house, which was a refreshing change from what many people (including myself) experience with contractors. I was impressed enough to tip all 5 of the workers.

The waterproofing work done by Integrity seems to have solved the problem as I no longer have water coming in my basement after heavy rainfall. The workers that were here to make the repairs to the foundation were courteous and professional. They answered any questions we had and showed us what was causing the problems we were having. My problem with them is the condition they left the landscaping in after they returned to finish the job. When the foundation repairs were completed Steve's eldest son who seemed to be in charge of the crew told me that they were going to return after the ground has settled to finish landscaping the affected area (which was perfectly ok and understandable) , reset in concrete a fence post which had to be removed and replace another window well which we discovered during the repair needed replacing. The first thing that annoyed me was that I had to call them in late October to find out if they were still planning on returning to finish. A couple days later they showed up in the morning to finish. My wife was home that day while I was working. My wife told me they were not here very long 30-45 minutes. When I got home and went out to look at things it didn't even look like anything had been done, with the exception of the fence post which not only was installed in the ground, but had the fence attached to it which I had left instructions not to do because I know that the post must set and allow the concrete to cure before attaching and re-stretching the fence (which I would have done) so as to not pull the post out of plumb. When I grabbed the post it was incredibly loose, so I began digging around the base of to see how it had been installed. I dug 4-6 inches down and found no trace of concrete. I then removed the fence and dug down further at least a foot down, no sign of concrete. I then was easily able to pull the post out of the ground to find no more than 2 inches of poorly mixed concrete on the bottom of the post. There was a lot of concrete powder in the hole. Evidently they dug a hole poured in a bag of concrete mix poured some water in and then stuck the post in and backfilled then re-attached the fence. Not the way to do it, I installed the fence originally, I know how to set posts. When the foundation was excavated for the repair, the builder used a lot of #57 crushed stone to backfill around the foundation which I guess is a good thing for drainage. When Integrity completed the repair and backfilled around the foundation that was exposed, all that was left on the surface was crushed stone. By no means do we have a "Better Homes & Garden" type yard, but Steve assured me when he gave us the estimate that when they were done that I would be hard to tell that anything had been dug up. I am not/was not expecting them to replant anything or mulch or anything like that, but I was expecting them to return it to a condition that could sustain plants. That didn't happen. When my wife inquired with the crew that return to complete the job she was told "we didn't haul any dirt away so we're not bringing any dirt in." All I expected was that if some dirt was needed in order to cover the exposed crushed stone than put some dirt on top of it. I get it that the dirt that was there got mixed in with the stone and settled on the bottom but there was no exposed crushed stone when they began, and there was nothing but exposed stone when they completed. I spoke to Steve about the problems on 10-24-11 and he told me his crew said the job was completed and done right and that I (not my wife) told them I was happy with everything. I told Steve that I wasn't even there as I was working and that it wasn't done right. He was going to investigate and stop over to have a look at it. I never heard back from him and had to take matters into my own hands in mid November. I re-set the fence post in concrete, brought in some top soil to cover the stone and replaced the other window well.

Beginning in the Summer 2011, when it rained heavy had water puddles in the 3rd room of basement. Called 3 waterproofing companies, all with "A" ratings for help. The other 2 gave estimates between $4000 and $9000 for various solutions. Steve Allen came and indicated that nothing was wrong with the basement. The problem was with the city sewer line. I called Brookpark who snaked the city pipes. We have had several heavy rains since the city cleared the pipes and no water in the basement. Thank you Steve for being such an honest person.

Came right out when called. Stayed until he diagnosed the problem. It was difficult to see what was going on, but he did. Then he gave me the price. He estimated the cost of two things that could be done. I could do both or one. He wouldn't take any money for the time he spent here trying to figure out the problem. I called to schedule. He sent a contract for me to sign and send back. Since it was a small job he said he would be able to fit me in between jobs. He did. His son and another man came to do the work. All were extremely respectful and pleasant. They showed me what they were going to do and then showed me when they were finishe. I would recommend them and would use them again. C. Bohanan

Steve came out and did a thorough presentation on the high quality of the materials they use, their good reputation and such. No problem at all with that. I knew before I ever called them that Integrity is highly rated, expensive, and upapologitic about it, which is all fair enough. The problem is that the Integrity quote is $3000 more than they quoted my next door neighbors, whose house is almost identical in size. This is accurate - houses built in the same year by the same builder, same lot size, very similar house design and nearly identical footprint. The quote was within the last 6 months. One difference is that I have a picket fence on one side which Steve said they would need to remove and put back, and that is part of the difference. It's an old 4 foot tall fence about 25' in length. I could get a brand new solid oak fence gold plated for $3000! Ok not so much but still. $3000 difference for a house 10 feet away from me makes no sense at all, even including removing and putting back a length of fence. Steve said he would have to look at both quotes [again, fair enough] but since his presentation is basically 'we have one solution - we do outside work to address the problem, not inside work to address the symptom, and we use the best materials available' I don't know what would be different. I am disapointed that I cannot use them because they really do seem to be the best. But I wonder about the estimating and don't have an extra $3000 to toss on the pile I would already have to pay them.
Description of Work: I have moisture seeping through panelling/baseboards on two walls in my basement and since I want to refinish down there, want to address the moisture problem. I have never had trickling, standing or any other water in the basement, just moisture on the walls/baseboard.

The actual foot print of the homes are not identical as the neighbors home has an addition which did not require waterproofing. Additional footage requires additional money. That along with the time of removing a fence and reinstalling accounts for the justifiable difference in cost. We do not consider our services to be expensive. The cost of our materials to waterproof as opposed to damproofing accounts for the price.

This spring, water started seeping into my basement every time it rained. I called several companies for estimates. Steve Allen came out twice. The first time, he suggested that the real issue was drainage and having my sewer lines flushed might solve the problem without doing any waterproofing. It didn't, so I called and had him come back out. In the end, he didn't give me a quote, saying that he felt his company couldn't do the job for a reasonable price (my house has a deep basement and very poor access, so it required a lot of hand excavation). Although I didn't end up using this company, I appreciated their honesty. They didn't try to sell me something when they thought I might not need it, and they didn't just quote me a ridiculously high price when they didn't want the job. They were also prompt at returning my phone calls and setting up the appointments.

I called this business to set up an estimate on a property we are in the process of purchasing. When I gave my information to the receptionist, she informed me that the estimate was not free because we did not yet own the home. It was $150. I was shocked- I responded "Wow. Are you kidding me"? She became very defensive with me and irritated, saying "No I am not kidding you. We get 20 calls a day from people like you who don't own the home yet. We have to make money you know. We can't just go around doing free estimates for everyone". I was shocked again. I said "But we have a contract on this home and a date set that we will be closing on the property". She again said "Then you should call once you OWN the property if you want a free estimate, otherwise it is $150". I said "Never mind then" and ended the call. This was one of the worst experiences with customer service I have ever encountered. We were very impressed with the company's information, and web site. We were looking forward to meeting the owner of the company and seeing how they could fix the possible problems with our future home. Because of this encounter with their receptionist, I will not call them again.

The job, originally scheduled for mid May, was delayed to the unusally wet spring. The lines of communication were kept open informing us as to when they woud begin. The individual contracted to detach the air conditioning units came on July 4th. The work commenced when they said it would and completed when they indicated. The crew was professional , worked as a team, and were quiet. Even our neighbors made a point of telling us how impressed they were.
Description of Work: The back side of our home waterproofed by Integrity. They removed and hauled the patio and steps, temporarily removed our bushes/ plantings. They dug - excavating to the footers along the rear of the house, extending 3 feet around the corner on each side. They laid footing tiles, cleaners and connected downspouts. As we had problems with water this spring they raised the waterproofing 2 bricks. They applied a 3 step waterproofing process. Steve and his crew were pleasant to deal with, did a great job moving our bushes and replacing them upon completion of the job. Very professional.

Steve A was on-time for the initial inspection and estimating visit. Steve inspected the basement where there had been water seeping in (by the sump pump) and the corresponding area outside the house. Steve had lots of pictures from previous work which helped explain the probable cause(s) of our problems and how they would resolve them. IW called to schedule the work and Steve?s two sons came out to do the work. They were delayed in traffic but they called to let us know. The guys worked hard (in the rain) to complete the work in the two days estimated. At various times throughout the process they called us out to review what they were doing and explain what they were finding. They also replaced the sump-pump pipe in the basement. One disappointment was that the discharge pipe from the house to the street was partially obstructed and the guys were unable to clear it. I had to contract with Roto-Rooter to get this done before they were able to complete the job. This added another $200 to the job. Another disappointment came with the 1st big rain following the work. While there was no longer any water seeping in, the primary pump-float was now getting hung-up on the new pipe, effectively preventing it from triggering the pump! The back-up float/pump was kicking in so we were saved from a flood. While I was fixing the pump-float issue, I noticed that the primary pump had been set-up onto a couple of bricks at the bottom of the sump. The bricks had been used to the hold the primary pump in place (it used to vibrate so much that it sometimes would become unattached from the pipe). I also noticed a lot of mud at the bottom of the sump. I think this was from when they / Roto-Rooter were trying to clear the discharge pipe and muddy water was coming in the footer-drains. Maybe that?s why the pump was now elevated ? to get it up out of the mud. I used a Shop-Vac to suck-up all the mud. I also have a Radon remediation system in place which means the sump cover needs to be sealed. I should have asked for this (the sealing of the lid) to be included but considering the pump-float issue I?m glad this was not done! Bottom-line is that we no longer have water seeping in the basement.
Description of Work: Integrity Waterproofing excavated one corner of our home to determine the cause of water seeping into the basement. They repaired all surface cracks and applied a waterproofing system on the two walls comprising the excavated corner. They replaced the downspout to discharge pipe, footing tile, and pipe from the sump-pump up to the discharge pipe.
The guys (Mike, Craig, Earl, and Mario) all did an excellent job. They were very polite, friendly, and conscientious. Unfortunately, they had to deal with the 90+ degree heat wave, but they kept going. They were willing to discuss what was going on with each step of the process and answer any questions I had. They went above and beyond by removing about 20 shrubs and a few large rosebushed from around the house and even a few shrubs that weren't within the working area. When finished, they cleaned and swept/raked the yard and even put the patio pavers in place. I didn't need any shrubs to be put back in, but I'm sure they would have done so. I would definitely recommend Integrity Waterproofing. Thanks everyone, it was a pleasure to have met you!
Description of Work: Excavated foundation down to footers, had to hand dig at one point underneath a 3' overhanging. Repaired cracks with hydraulic cement. Put on three layers of waterproofing - thoroseal, elestomeric membrane, and a dimpled drainage mat. Replaced footing tiles and downspout lines (also added 3 additional downspout lines). Put in new window wells. Backfilled with gravel and topped off with about a foot of topsoil. All of this was done in five days. Price also included having a concrete sidewalk put in and having the A/C disconnected and connected. The only reason that I put price as good, is that they weren't the cheapest (had about ten estimates), but I liked the process and was willing to pay a bit more for what seemed like better quality.

This was the second estimate I got for our basement. Steve came out as scheduled, looked at the outside and the inside of our basement, decided on the best method of repair, explained everything in detail and left a detailed estimate. No high pressure sales tactics, unlike the other company we got an estimate from. No pumps, no fancy water removal systems - just needed to have the wall of our basement sealed and waterproofed from the outside. Once we scheduled work, he and his crew came out as promised, did the work quickly and once they cleaned up and left, you couldn't tell anyone was ever there. The entire crew was very professional and friendly. Steve came out on the last day to walk around the house with us and explain exactly what was done. It's been almost 2 years now and no matter how much it rains or how much snow melts, not a drop of water gets into our basement. If you need someone who will honestly assess your basement and do the right job, Steve at Integrity waterproofing is the way to go.
Description of Work: Complete waterproofing of basement done exteriorly by digging down to footers and placing waterproof barrier on the outside. Displaced earth was then replaced and covered with gravel. Displaced sidewalk/walkways were replaced as well.

I was really impressed with them. They did everything right. They hand dug it so that they did not disturb our side walk that was real close the house. They disposed all the dirt. I called Integrity Waterproof and he was great. He was prompt and friendly. He looked at the spot and said it was not water or moisture. He also looked around the basement and said it was nice and dry. He was very honest and did not even charge me for the call!! He definately lived up to his name.
Description of Work: I had a dark spot on my basement wall. With all the rain, I was concerned that it was water and would need fixed.

All in all things went very well. The only compalints I have was some of the foundation coating got on our home and our neighbors. This is no big deal as it washed off easily. Our lawn suffeder a bit from being covered up with plywood for a week or so, but that is to be expected. Other than those minor issues all went great and our basement is dry as a bone now. No more musty smell even and the basement walls, over time, dried out. Exceptional experience and a good value for the work done.
Description of Work: Integrity Waterproofing dug up around three sides of our home and waterproofed. This work consisted of the digging of flowerbeds and breaking up of driveway. They then coated the foundation with a concrete type product and a tar substance. They also placed a thick vinyl liner over the foundation and then backfilled with gravel and dirt. They also installed new drain tile/PVCpipe and hooked it up to the downspouts. Finally they repoured and cut the new driveway section and replanted the shubs/plants that were taken out. They also performed clean-up.
