Nora in James Gibson's office promptly replied to my request to schedule the work. On the day it was scheduled to be done, James called me 10 minutes before his scheduled arrival time to update me on his status. The work was completed as promised, and we are very pleased with the service we received. Although this was an extremely small job, James treated us as though we were his most important customers of the day. We definitely hope to use Gibson General Contracting again, and in fact we are in the process of getting an estimate for some garage repair work.

Showed up on time finished the job in reasonable amount of time. Cleaned up area and finished work when promised. I will be using them again for other work. Getting quotes on other jobs now.

Left 2 voicemails - one on 6/2 and the other on 6/6. Did not receive a return phone call.

Good company. They came out as planned and were very honest.

kept promising to contact me but it took more than three days. Then when they responded, it was to say they would contact me soon for an appointment. After three or more days they finally wrote to say they could not come out until late June or July. since I needed someone soon due to problems, I asked if they would come in the fall with this deal instead as I needed someone now. They took three more days and finally said they would not honor the deal in November and then finally stated they stopped coming to my county anyways so would not do it at all. This was finally concluded on May 24 and I bought the deal on May 14!

It went well. We were happy with the results. It was well done. The only issue I had was with the gutters on the back side of the house. They said they were clear so they didn't actually them where the gutter guards were.

I had plumbers over doing some extensive work in my basement last night. Water ended up all over my floor and ended up shorting out the cord to my dryer (which I didn't discover until after the plumbers left). Because I've used James in the past for other work and have come to only trust him, I called him last night and he came out this morning and helped me pick out the right part for the job and performed the work for me. I've had a lot of plumbers, electricians, etc. in my house as of late, and James continues to be the only one I trust! He is professional, reliable and a great guy. Thank you!

I had contacted them to schedule because I had never heard from them. They wanted me to email them my payment information and verification of the deal I had purchased because they said they had been having problems verifying Angie's List member information. It was very hard to deal with this company as far as the communication and scheduling. I could only imagine if they did actually complete work and I needed them to come back out, what type of run around I would receive.

He was friendly and knowledgeable. He showed up on time for the appointment. After meeting with additional providers, I called him back to schedule the repair. He indicated he would be out the following day. I had some issues with responsiveness; however, after finally making contact, he indicated that he was injured and wasn't working. I still decided to schedule him for to perform the roof repair. When he came to perform the service, he apologized about not contacting me when he knew that he wouldn't be able to make the appointment. I can't comment yet about the quality of the repair.

They were very responsive in setting up an estimate and scheduling the work. The price was more than fair compared to other estimates received. The work was done efficiently and of good quality. Pleasure to work with.

Gibson was only provider that answered on weekend. Understood my time limits with work and went out of his way to come make an emergency repair before it rained again. Above all, he did not take advantage of urgent nature and performed work at fair price. Would definitely use his services again.

Showed up timely to give me a quote for some window work and some general construction. Very polite, seemed interested in doing the work, have never received a quote and never a call back. Called him and he said he would get a quote to me soon, that has been at least a month with no response.

He was very responsive and quick to get the job done. He was very accommodating for me. I have had a difficult time finding a contractor/handyman and he far exceeded my expectations.

It went extremely well and I was very satisfied with the service he provided. He walked through the house with me and reviewed all the projects I was thinking about and my priorities. He gave me good advice about some important decisions I had to make. Being that I am a first time home owner in a home that was built in 1946 his advice and direction was exactly what I needed. By no means did he up-sell me. He gave me good low-cost alternative solutions for some of the needs I had. He was willing to drop by my house a few times to talk through questions I had before and during the project. Initially, with the first few projects I had more than one contractor quote and Gibson quoted less expensive, but he was providing sound advice and not trying to convince me to do unnecessary work and take advantage of me (which others were). This team is honest and trustworthy and provide outstanding service- both through contracting, and consulting. I will continue to use them exclusively for my home improvement projects.

Even though our house has a lot of gutters, they still took care of all of it for the Deal price.

Mr. Gibson was eager to assist me with the quote and was able to provide me with quick feedback about the project. He realistically told me (and provided it in writing) a solid quote to repair the paint problems and the drywall problems as well. I was happy with his demeanor on the phone, and after talking to a few contractors before him, I was relieved to discuss details with an even keeled person. This job was done in Lakewood and I live in Chesapeake, VA, so we had some long distance issues to deal with, but Mr. Gibson made it easier on me by sending me pictures and keeping me informed through the process. I would definitely use Gibson Contracting again... Thanks!

spoke with someone on the phone who set up an appointment and stated that he would give me a quote after assessing the damage. I never heard from them.

James and his team did a FANTASTIC job. They were always on time and extremely professional. They were flexible with our demands when it came to specific details of the projects as well as time. We needed our staircase finished prior to Christmas day, due to family, and they accommodated finishing the job within a week. I would highly recommend James and his team for future projects.

He was good. He came and he did what he was supposed to. The siding is still up, and so the quality of work was okay.

Not great. On his first visit there were 4 "workers" to remove a small vanity from a small bathroom in a condo. This was not a hard job - the old vanity had only been in place 5 years. When the new vanity was installed James was not here. Altho there were 2 men here (one of which was his brother) I had to call the condo maintenance men in to help AND PAY them. Meanwhile the second worker went "out for parts" while everyone waited. Whatever was needed was not in their truck. The maintenance men were very emphatic in telling James' brother the hole in the back of the vanity needed to be enlarged. Needless to say he didn't have the right tools to do it. He promised to tell James and come right back to finish the job. Never happened. Months went by. When James finally contacted me he said he knew nothing about the unfiniushed work and got an attitude with me about destroying the back of the vanity now instead of waiting till it was necessary. No appointment was made to finish the job. I have a final bill for $270.70 dated 1/18/14. By this time I have paid someone else to finish the job. My decision -I'm not sure I want someone with an attitude working under my sink. I am paying the final bill in total just to be finally finished with Gibson Contracting.

The work was done very well, super clean job and the area was left neat and clean.

I would definitely contact James again if we need any work done. In the end we backed out of this particular house. When we called him he was really understanding and said that if we needed any help going forward even if it was a contractor's perspective on any house that we were considering buying he would be more than happy to view the house with us. We had a hugely stressful experience with the bank as they actually messed up our financing and had to change the loan product on us twice. Throughout the entire process James was understanding and quick to get back to us. Obviously in the end we had no actual work done but since we had such a positive experience I wanted to make sure and review Gibson Contracting.

Squeezed me in late in the season. Very efficient.

Very professional. Estimate for new front porch and railings, gave us different options and was very thorough. Didn't get to do the work yet but plan on using company to do the work in the spring.
