James quickly came out for an estimate and was able to perform the work shortly thereafter. They were very courteous, prompt, and efficient in the work they did. We had two bathrooms that needed work done, one included putting new pipes in and moving them to the interior walls since they froze and burst before. On top of that we had two new entry doors put in, one of which required more work than originally planned for. They were still able to complete everything sooner then originally expected and no added fees were incurred. They were very knowledgeable, did an excellent job and were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them and will definitely be using them again in the future.

After saying he's been getting lots of calls from people looking at Angie's list, he requested we email him some specific information on the work we needed done. We did so. He called back, to review some information. He said he would get back to us, but we never heard from him again. Hired another contractor to do the work.

I had a wonderful experience with Gibson. The owner came out to do an estimate immediately after I contacted him, and he worked with my tight schedule to get the work done quickly. They even came back and finished a job on MLK Day, a holiday, so we wouldnt have to take time off work, which I really appreciated! I purchased the handyman deal, and everything on my list was addressed, even a couple tiny issues that had been bugging me around the house. We had the gutter on our garage repaired and our living room wall scraped and patched due to storm damage. They also noticed a couple issues with our gutters. Some of the work outside couldn't be finished because of the cold, but we'll definitely be giving them a call in the spring to come back! I've already recommended them to my neighbors.

I was able to get in touch with James and to get the job finished very quickly. He is very pleasant and communicates promptly. I needed to get my mailbox put back up after someone had hit it with their car and also needed to have some minor repairs done to an overhanging roof that was leaking; he got these done with no fuss and no muss. In addition, I had a sink that wasn't draining properly that he was able to troubleshoot and fix in no time flat. I will definitely use him again!

I chose Gibson General Contracting because of the excellent ratings it has on Angie's List and am very satisfied that I did. James Gibson and his craftsman Wayne were professional, punctual, hardworking, expert, and had a friendly demeanor. They were also very neat, laying down tarpaulin to avoid tracking winter dirt into the house. I also appreciate James' advice that additional work not be done to raise the supports under the flooring as sturctures were solid and doing so would lead to cracking of the walls above. I like that type of expertise and foresight. James was always easily reachable by phone.

They were prompt in the initial response to a request for an estimate, friendly and cooperative. The drywall work was done quickly and efficiently in December so that I was able to use the room during Christmas. Then they returned to install a row of cabinets inJanuary. What should have been a simple job on that turned out to be a challenge because of an out of square wall and a sloping floor which had nothing to do with their original work. They remained pleasant, taking more time than I'm sure they had planned and didn't speak of any additional charge.

I had a hard time scheduling a time for them to come to my condo to install two entry doors. One was a screen. Finally we arranged a day. Contractor arrived with his son to help him. Hours and hours later, the job was finished, but to my dismay the screen door was installed backwards/upside down. The screen opens in one direction, while the inner door opens the other direction. He gave me excuses as to why it had to be installed that way. The screen never closed right and within a week, the wind caught it and bent the hinges and pulled screws out of the frame. Door has been removed until I can find someone to fix it right. The installation cost me over $500.00 which to me was outrageous.

Everything went extremely well. The estimate was accurate and the price was great. The crew were friendly, hard-working, and cleaned up the work area at the end of each day -- to include mopping the floors and wiping down all of the counters! James Gibson is a great contractor to do business with. I like his honesty and quick responsiveness to phone calls. I will definetly do business with him again.

James and his crew were very helpful and professional. They were very accommodating of our schedule and were patient with us as we chose locations for artwork and photos. They were resourceful when we had trouble hanging one piece and found a great solution. We highly recommend James; he is very easy to work with, professional and cares about the quality of the work done.

THIS WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE! James first came to the house to access the job to be done. I had purchased his "BIG DEAL" coupon for $80. and could not have been more pleased with the result and the price. James and his brother were able to complete all my tasks in an hour...their work was very professional. Also, they were extremely nice and informative...giving me advice on how to keep my drains from getting clogged..thanks...will do. I would certainly hire them again...they were wonderful.

Gibson arrived close to appointment time, and introduced himself and we confirmed the work to be performed. His crew started immediately and in a professional manner. When there was an issue, Mr.Gibson brought it to my attention, and presented options for solving the issue. Team made sure the place was left in a clean manner, and all tools and trash was cleaned up.

A windstorm knocked part of my back gutter off the house. I called Gibson, and he stopped by the house, gave me an estimate, and repaired the gutter, and inspected and cleaned all of the gutters all on the same day. I felt the value for a same day service was definitely worth the price paid. I would recommend Gibson for the work performed.

James came out and gave an estimate after I gave him the list. He did a walk around and listened to my explanations of what I wanted done. It was agreed that I would go and purchase what was needed (I have a person who gets a great discount on items) James gave me a list to complete the jobs. He brought 3 individuals along with himself and they were in and out within the day. The work was done well and I would have them come out again to do any work possible.

James is very professional and personable! On the very same day I called him for an estimate for the handrail in my parents' home, he was out there within the hour to take a look and send me the estimate. Top quality work and he knew exactly what was needed for the stairway. He installed the handrail about 2 or 3 days after the estimate and wanted to make sure it was installed properly for stability (my mom had knee replacement surgery and needs the handrail to get up and down the stairs without falling). His prompt response, professionalism, and good humor made the low cost that much better!! I will definitely be using his services again since my parents are getting older and he can take care of the work that the house needs.

He came out and assessed what painting needs done. He said that I needed to pay more money and I don’t want to do that. It’s not like I need fifteen rooms painted. I just need the ceiling painted and a stairwell taken care of. I ordered the deal on the 19th of November and didn’t hear from them until yesterday. He finally got back to me after I contacted Angie’s List for help and said that he didn’t get any calls, even though I called and left several messages. I have contacted Angie’s List and requested a refund for my purchase.

My spouse and I felt that several areas within our home must have a professional approach applied to them due to our placing our home on the market. Mr.Gibson was contacted based upon his reviews and special pricing for several hours work. We worked out a mutual time frame and the required work was done.

Our porch was in bad shape, parts of the ceiling were removed allowing critters to make their nests there, the roof was soft and leaking, the brick stairway was missing mortar and beginning to fall apart. Jim was wonderful. He arrived on time on the designated day and worked quickly and neatly. He communicated all issues that were found and was very reasonable on the repairs. We plan on having him and his crew return in the spring to redo the porch floor. I highly recommend this contractor.

They were in the afternoon on the day I called, so I could not have had anyone more prompt.

wecalled to get estimate, they called right back and came over gave an estimate. i could tell right away they were hard working honest people. i loved the work and they were right on with the estimate they gave me. i only have 1 bathroom so they were very quick to get room done. they have been the only contractors that have we have had that were true to their word. great people!!

Job turned out to be more involved which happens with an old house. Very pleased with his performance.

They seemed to know what they were doing and they were reasonable.

The job went very well. I had e-mailed Mr.Gibson pictuews before purchasing the deal to ensure it could be completed. He had not scheduled an appointment but called and asked if he could arrive that day to do it. I am flexable so that was not a problem. They pulled out the stove, unhooked the electrical and removed the old hood. He also hauled it off, which I was grateful for.

They were punctual...introduced themselves...gave me their card....after I showed them what to do...they started immediately...very nice

Jim always returns phone calls and emails promptly. He keeps to his schedule and the work he does (or that by his staff) is first-rate. His payment terms are also professional.

James called me back promptly and an appointment was set up within the week. He arrived on time and listened to what I wanted. I asked how it would be securely mounted to the house. James explained that the siding would need to be removed to attach the new awning, or portico, to the frame of the house and then the siding replaced. Because it was aluminum there would be some damage to the aluminum when removing. Unfortunately it is an 8 inch grained aluminum which is no longer available. James told me the aluminum was in good condition and just needed a good power wash and painting. Since I don't want to re-side at this time I am going to paint the existing awning. When the house is vinyl sided in the future I will replace this awning.. I already have a commitment with another painter or I would have asked James to quote. I felt James was very honest and helpful. I had 3 others out to quote who said no problem but failed to provide a concrete number or date commitment. James did not waste my time. I will definitely consider him for future work.
