I ran through my ideas and things we wanted in the house. Brian took measurements, got drawings from the city and was able to quickly provide some basic drawings of a couple designs for us based on our feedback. We made a few tweaks after the first draft, but we really liked one of the layouts he had, so he then created the full drawings so we could take to a contractor to get pricing. We priced out a few different architects, and BKW was by far the cheapest option and also having a great user rating. This is one case where going the cheaper route actually worked out. He was very quick and very responsive, would have a response by email in less than a day, normally within the next hour.

I cannot say enough good things about bwk design. Brian was very, very responsive and did a ton of research on the codified ordinances for my city before he even agreed to take the job. He had never created prints for a structure in my city before so he wanted to know what lay ahead of him. My city is somewhat picky about structures and Brian even reached out to our city engineer personally for clarification on some of the ordinances. The city complimented Brian on his prints (they were beautiful) and we received permission fron the city to build out structure. Brain's prices may not be used to what you are paying for architectural prints, but I PROMISE that you'll get what you pay for - top-notch prints and a dedicated business owner who will give you exactly what you need and want to pass your city's architectural review board. You can't go wrong when choosing Brian! He will even attend your city's review process with you!

We had a set of blueprints from a different architect. We found out that the blue prints were for a house that was not structurally sound. We needed help quickly and had been referred to bwk design. My husband and I spoke with Brian about the issues with our plans and how we were in a bind since we had already signed for a construction loan. Brian was very responsive, and extremely helpful. He worked on the house plans, made them so that the building would be solid and sound while keeping everything that we wanted in our house. He had excellent ideas and suggestions to make it even better. We would highly recommend him to anyone needing a residential designer/architect. We are just finishing building our dream house and couldn't be happier.

It went great. Brian came up with a great design. I liked the way he thought outside of the box to come up with ideas we hadn't' thought of. He really listened to what we we needed and came up with a design that would work for us. He also worked with us after the initial design to make changes and improvements based on our thoughts and ideas. I cant believe the difference. We are using our whole house now. People who come to our house now compliment us on it all the time. Others who saw it before the redesign are amazed at the transformation. The house is much more conducive to our life style. It works for day to day as well as having get-togethers. Couldn't be happier with how the design turned out. Its rare to find someone who truly listens to you and what you need like Brian did. Where our kitchen used to be is now our mud room which works well with our kids and the many activities they are in. Our kitchen is now in the center of the house and we have an office and a family room as well as a video game area for the kids. This has been a life saver. I would highly recommend BWK for anyone looking for a redesign of their home.

What could have been an adequate rectangular design, instead has an interesting a bay window shape that extends the porch into the back yard. Even the gutter system matches the stately look of the main house. I have worked with architects in the past that have big egos and seem to resent listening to their clients dreams, ideas and opinions. Brian is not like that. He allowed me to review and comment. He made me feel part of the team. Occasionally my ideas were pretty "right-on", but more often than not they needed his gentle guidance and improvement. He saved me from myself more than once.Additionally, he was also a huge help with lighting, flooring & ceiling materials and color. His fee was well worth the cost.

Brian was very easy to work with. He was very helpful in the design of the house and he was able to save me money during the process.
