Our experience with American Roofing was nothing short of spectacular. We had two roofs replaced (our personal home and our rental property) as a result of severe hail damage, and I could not have been more satisfied with the wonderful job American Roofing and Anthony did for us. The company and its representatives, especially the owner, Anthony Vangelos, were professional, responsive and most importantly willing to completely manage the communications and negotiations with our insurance company. We had a number of horrendous experiences with our insurance company (State Farm) over the years with both our personal property and our rental property, and did not have the time, the patience, nor the wherewithal to deal with them. Anthony managed the entire process and kept us apprised of actions required on our part to keep the process moving fluidly. The initial quote ended up being very accurate, (approximately $12,000 per job) which was very competitive. The hassles of dealing with State Farm were taken off our shoulders and managed by Anthony. The work was done very professionally, the communication was fantastic and the workers were very respectful to our property, our family and our neighbors. They did a great job! I would highly recommend dealing with American Roofing in any circumstance.

American Roofing installed a rubber roof on the addition on my house before I bought it in 2009. The roof is still under warranty and I have the original paperwork from the prior owners of the house. There has been a very small leak in the roof under the addition after torrential downpours since last winter. However, last spring, it became a major leak, with water streaming into the kitchen with every rain. I attempted to contact American Roofing in early June. I left a message with the office and no one returned my call. I called every week for 4 weeks, with no response. Finally, I received a call back from Anthony, the owner. He had mistakenly dialed my number when attempting to call someone else. He was taken aback when he realized who I was. He then told me that he didn't return my calls because he thought that I was calling the wrong company. I told him I had an invoice from his company and offered to fax it to his office. He promised to look into it. I faxed the invoice. No return call. I called back twice before he returned my call. He said that they would come out and look at the roof. Nothing. His voice mail was always full when I tried to call him. When I finally reached him, he said that his people had been out to the house twice and had not found a problem. I had never let anyone into the house and there were never any cards or notes left at the house. It was not until July 25 that Anthony came to the house to look at the problem. He offered a couple possible solutions to fix the problem. I asked him to send me a quote and a timeline for when the work could be done. Nothing. I called American Roofing back twice after that. No one ever responded to me. After that, I started investigating. I contacted the professional associations listed on Angie's List for this contractor. Most are related to product lines. The one genuine association told me that American Roofing had been a member in the past but was no longer a member. A word to the wise. Beware this company. They do not stand by their work.

My husband said that they are good and they don't do any work in the winter time.

Excellent. Only area of concern was level of mess but, they tore off three layers!

Outstanding job. Crew of 7 arrived at 8:30 am, finished job by 5:30 pm. The garage floor and driveway were completely swept, no nails or wood left.

American Roofing, Inc.'s website shows them as a GAF Gold certified company, which I learned that if I were to do business with them, and pay extra for it, that GAF, if I use all GAF materials throughout the roofing, GAF, upon an inspection of the roof, will stand behind American Roofing. Because Roofing companies have a habit of disappearing overnight, that meant something to me. We have never received that GAF warranty. He has told us that he had the GAF representative come out and that the warranty was in the mail, but we never got it. Anyone who would wish to use him, I would advise to be diligent. I actually held back $500 from him. He said that was not the deal and that I need to pay him and then he would get it for me. I said no and demanded that he give me the warranty and then I would give him the check. I paid him for all of the work, but the deal under the contract was that I would pay after the work is done and as far as I was concerned, the production of that warranty was part of the work. I still have yet to receive the warranty. He told my wife he would drop it off, but he never did. My wife also said that she saw the GAF representative do the inspection, but he still hasn't produced it. I will say that they did a good job on the roofing.

Completely outstanding experience. The owner of the company, Anthony Vangelos, was the person who came to the house to give the estimate. He came to the house within a few hours of the initial call. Because this was covered by the insurance claim, Anthony realized that there were quite a few things that the insurance was not covered. Anthony did all of the arguing with the insurance company, citing code and manufacturer's specifications. Eventually, the company's persistence won out and we were awarded another $2000. The crew was professional and competent. They arrived on time and took time to explain to the neighbors what was going on as well. The work was being done in 90 degree heat and I did not feel that anything was compromised despite the difficult working conditions. They also offered a Golden Pledge warranty which I bought for an extra $200 which has a third party engineer come and inspect the roof. This gives us a 20 year labor warranty with the manufacturer in addition to American Roofing. Thus, if American Roofing goes under, we still have the warranty. Because of the hail storm, there have been many roofs in the neighborhood getting repaired. I was impressed with the relative professionalism by the American Roofing crew compared with the other "storm chasers". I am very glad we stayed local and would highly recommend American Roofing to anyone looking at replacing their roof the "right way" according to code.

They were really good about coming out. They knew what to do as soon as they looked at the damage, and they went about fixing it really quickly. Their price was very good, and their work is holding up very well. They were here when they said they were going to be here. They were very professional - they went up and took pictures of what it looked like and then came down and showed it to me. I would use them again in the future.

During a recent wind storm, we lost several shingles off our roof. Thankfully American Roofing came to our rescue so we didn't have any water leaking into the house and fixed everything very quickly!

I appreciated the fact that they hustle for new work. They second time they came by two weeks ago and left new cards so I thought I better give them a call. They do what it takes to get the job done. There was no downtime and lolly gagging around. I also have a weather station attached to the chimney and they were very careful about the way they handled it and made sure it was level and worked properly.

Anthony helped us replace our roof. We were very satisfied with his service and patience as our availability made it difficult to coordinate the project. He helped explain to us all our options and did not pressure us to choose something that was more expensive than we needed. In addition, when changes to the original bid came up (certain materials not available, measurements off, etc.) Anthony only held us to the original bid and did not harass us in any way to pay more than what we had agreed to. Also when ceiling damage occurred, Anthony arranged repair in a very timely manner, again at no additional cost to us, it was covered by the roofers insurance. Overall, we know our roof was a complicated job for this company but they handled us excellently in a very professional manner. I would highly recommend them.

She said that they would be getting back to me promptly but I haven't heard anything from them.
