Marvin's Organic Gardens

Description of Work: Marvin's raised a large flower bed to divert water drainage around our house. They also planted flowers and shrubs and removed some unwanted bushes. I am a contractor myself and I know a good company when I see one. Marvin's Organic Gardens is a first rate outfit. I'm planning more projects in the spring and I will definitely call them again.

Description of Work: I purchased the $49 evaluation and suggestions for our yard. Wes Duren came to our home and explained his goals in designing a plan and completing the work with organic, natural materials. We were impressed with his credentials and professionalism, and agreed to have his company do the work. |We were even more impressed with the finished product. Casey and Kyle, who did most of the actual labor, were as dedicated as Wes to satisfying our needs and making our project an outstanding success. Our yard looks 100% better now than it did a week ago. Better yet, it is more functional and will be less work for us to maintain. |If we decide to have more done in the future, we will definitely call Marvin's Organic Gardens.

Description of Work: This item was a landscaping consultation, not exactly the normal product or service. I was very happy with the knowledgeability of the young man who appeared; he gave me advice on what to do with/about/to my existing trees and plantings as well as many recommendations for suitable future plantings (all of which I scribbled down madly). While I may implement many of them on my own, I look forward to working further with Marvin's. | |EFR

Description of Work: They arrived on time and worked consistently to remove debris from the front, back and side yards. In addition they trimmed the shrubbery, and reshaped bushes as well as two small trees.

Description of Work: Provide landscape plans. I plan to have the landscaping project completed in the fall of 2015. Excellent customer service, and the plans exceeded my expectation.

Description of Work: Came out to give us a quote and gave us a creative, functional plan that exceeded our expectations. Even included a buckeye tree in the plan for my husband (the Ohio State fan!).

Description of Work: Installed a stone landing at the base of our deck, a stepping stone pathway from gate to gazebo, installed fencing at around base of deck, built a low stone wall around a tree, transplanted two small trees and put down grass seed and straw around path and landing, plus some general tidying up. Very pleased with their excellent work and efficient use of time.

Description of Work: Received estimate for replacing trees - have not yet had work performed because of pending litigation against HOA and property manager that illegally cut down my trees.

Description of Work: My first experience with Marvins Organic Gardens was August, 2013. They put in a natural stone patio and raised garden beds. They designed the patio, installed natural stone, a bubbling Boulder and stone bench. Love it. This past spring they cleaned up the yard, divided grasses and transplanted them and power washed my house and garage. Extremely happy with the employees and finished product.

Description of Work: In my eyes, the provider is a very gifted landscaper. My yard looks wonderful; I have gotten compliments from my neighbors (who were very ready for me to do something about my ugly, neglected front yard!). The provider was willing to negotiate on the price so that I was happy with the charge in the end. I would definitely use this provider in the future, but I would do things differently; I would make sure that my instructions were confirmed by him IN WRITING before I agreed to the job, and I would set up a "walk through" at the end of the job to make sure that I had instructions on how to care for the plantings once the job was done. | |The provider was pleasant in person and over the phone/via email, but did not hear some of the things that I had specifically asked him to do, and as a result the finished project ended up included work that I had specifically asked him NOT to do. Also, I did not agree to the start date ahead of time; it was left open and I came home one night to find the job done--not a terrible shock, but I would have liked to have reviewed the plan with the workers prior to their doing the job. Also, I had to contact the provider to get instructions on how to care for the plantings; it would have been much easier for me to have those handed to me in written form. | |Overall, however, this firm was pleasant to work with and the end results were beautiful.I do recommend them highly, with the caveats I mentioned.

Description of Work: Wes, the owner, came out and walked around the whole yard with us and submitted a written proposal that had been divided up into sections so we could do the landscaping at separate times in separate locations on the property. We decided to do sections 1 - 4 (the front) first since they needed it the most. His crew removed several old, overgrown shrubs one day then came back to do the planting in 2 other days. Some plants were saved, as we requested, others are new and ground cover was put down first then 2 beds outlined in flat stones, one large bed covered in river stones around the plantings and the other beds mulched. What an improvement! The removal of the overgrown shrubs allows us to now see our driveway from inside the house to see approaching vehicles and others can now see our pretty walkway and front door from the street. They will do the other sections when we call them back.

Description of Work: Marvin Oranic were very professional an polite. I purchased 2 packages which allowed me to have 2 workers, for 4 hours. They arrived on time and proceeded to edge, weed trim, shape and mulch. Unfortunately we ran out of time to do my other preplanned jobs of power washing mossy front stairs/sidewalks and tree pruning. But, I hope to have them back this fall to finish up those tasks.

My every question was answered and each service was provided to my complete satisfaction. They will be my first call for future projects.

Description of Work: They were very busy, first contact person was very nice and knowledgable but it took several weeks for them to contact me and finally get the job done. He said it was due to the weather. I would probably use them again because the work was done very well but i think it was a little expensive and I had to wait too long. I paid half of the cost on first meeting, remainder when the job was finished--all cash.
