Having my old computer run its course over the last 11 years, I felt that it was time to upgrade to a new machine. Although mine was still working alright (just very slowly) , another incentive to purchase a new computer at this time was that Microsoft is soon to stop supporting Windows XP. The major chain electronics store pretty much sell generic computers with Windows 8 installed. After reading the horror stories about Windows 8, I concluded that this was not a good time to purchase a computer with Windows 8 installed. Remembering a previous contact that I had with John and Matt at PC Surgeons and the fast and reliable service I received, I decided to contact them to see if they could build a custom computer to meet my needs. John explained that he could do that and offered than he often builds specific computers for municipalities, businesses and universities. I made and appointment to meet with John. We met for about two hours and built my new computer on paper. John was a delight to work with and suggested things that I had never even thought of. He also suggested that we install Windows 7 since there were still numerous problems with Windows 8. After a few days had passed, John called with a quote on the new machine. I found his pricing to be very fair and reasonable for all that I had ordered including all the software. I gave him a deposit of one half down and within four short days the computer was built, data transferred, software loaded and ready to be delivered. Matt delivered and installed the new computer synching it with the other hardware I had. This of course was at an extra cost at an hourly rate. Matt arrived at the time agreed upon and in a few short hours had everything installed and running properly. It has been a little over a week now and the new system works great and is everything that I expected it to be and more. There is a bit of a learning curve for using some of the new software, but I'm confident that if I have questions, John and his team will be more than happy to help with them. It's also nice to have a secure feeling that if I do have problems down the road that John, Matt and Brian of PC Surgeons are there to help. I would give this firm a five star rating in knowledge base, pricing, support, repairs and enthusiasm. I don't think you can go wrong by choosing PC Surgeons of Kent for a repair or a brand new system.
Description of Work: John from PC Surgeons designed and built a new computer to meet my needs. They transferred all the data from my old computer and came out to the house to install the system and link it to my existing equipment. I purchased a PC Tower, new monitor, keyboard and mouse, Windows 7 Professional, Microsoft Office Home & Business 2013, Bitdefender Antivirus Plus2013 and a new wireless router. Matt, the service technician, delivered the unit to my home and for an agreed upon hourly fee, installed everything and made sure everything was working and linked properly to my existing equipment.
